Wednesday 6th October

Lovely warm, sunny weather again today!! First we went to the hotel lobby to see which character was there and it was Rhiannon’s old friend Goofy suitably dressed in his Mexican outfit!!! Over to the park and we rode in one of the Main Street vehicles up to the Central Plaza and had breakfast in the Chalet de la Marionnette again. We met yet more characters in Fantasyland – Tweedle Dum & Tweedle Dee

Minnie, Daisy Duck, and Baloo. Then we wandered round Alice’s Maze
and climbed up to the top of the Queen of Hearts’ castle. Had a look round some more shops and then walked through to Halloweenland where we saw Minnie outside the Country Cookout Barbecue who grabbed Rhiannon’s hand and started dancing with her!!! We also met Goofy in his Halloween costume. We took some photos of all the lovely Halloween scenery

and then some more in Main Street.

Then we went to City Hall for a 2 hour guided tour of the park. They do them in various different languages at different times on different days. Unfortunately we were the only ones so we had to pay attention, ask intelligent (?) questions and couldn’t escape when our little legs and feet started to ache!!! The Cast Member was called Bala and he took us all over the park into every land and told us loads of interesting facts, the stories behind some of the rides (still don’t understand the Phantom Manor story but never mind!!!) and restaurants, and pointed out little details that you miss normally including the different Cast Member costumes and music as you go from one land to another and all the incredible theming. We also got a behind-the-scenes look at Space Mountain and Star Tours. After walking non-stop for a solid 2 hours we could hardly move but it had been interesting. We had to have a sit down so we had lunch in the Market House Deli and then went up to the balcony of the railroad to watch the parade. After that we had a sit down in Town Square and then walked through Liberty Arcade to Halloweenland to watch the Piñata which was interesting – everyone has to chant and shout and the loudest child is chosen to hit the piñata with a stick and after a few swipes loads of sweets fall out and all the kids dash in to pick them up.

Then one of the funny little men in peculiar costumes spied Rhiannon and held her hand and stroked her hair – she wasn’t too keen!!!

We went on Big Thunder Mountain, Pirates of the Caribbean and Honey I Shrunk the Audience – but unfortunately Rhiannon’s mice were on strike!!! Back to Main Street and more shops!! Then we walked across to the Village for a drink. King Ludwig’s Castle has got Oktoberfest on at the moment but you have to have a meal there, not just a drink, so we went to the Rainforest Café bar and sat on the great seats which look like the hind quarters of animals!! Then we went to Café Mickey for our character meal. The Sheriff of Nottingham took a liking to Rhiannon and particularly her ears – what is it with these villains and ears?????

Friar Tuck’s massive backside knocked over my bottle of Budweiser which went all over Rhiannon so we had a laugh at that and kind Minnie went to fetch some serviettes to mop it up!! After meeting Minnie and Mickey we decided it was time for bed as another strenuous day lay ahead of us tomorrow!!

Looks like you had a great time.....looking forward to part 3:)
