How far to walk from DL hotel to MK gates?

It's about a 7-10 minute walk through DTD. There is a monorail station in DTD about midway through the walk. It will take you into Tomorrowland. :earsboy:

Take the monorail!

The monorail winds its way to the Tomorrowland Station, so it wouldn't be quicker. It's a nice way to get to the park. If you get a train right away, then you'll get to your destination (if it's Tomorrowland) quicker, but more often than not, you have to wait for the monorail to get to the Downtown Disney station.

The monorail still stops at the same place, but that portion of the hotel has been removed and turned into part of Downtown Disney.

FYI, you can only get on the monorail if you already have your park tickets. If you need to get tickets, you need to keep walking to the front gate.

If you're trying to enter the park right at opening, the monorail usually is not quicker, although it might be if tomorrowland is where you'd head first.

I read another post that described the monorail well: in Disneyland, it is considered more of an attraction than a mode of transportation (like at WDW).

We'll be visiting next week (staying at the PP) with a couple of folks who aren't able to walk long distances, so we'll be relying on the monorail to some extent. I've read previously that it seemed to work pretty well for early entry, so we're going to try it for that at least once.

The efficiency of the Monorail really depends upon the time or year and the crowds being fought. If there is not many people waiting for the Monorail then you may be better served by taking it. But if there's a wait, then you need to weigh waiting for the Monorail vs. waiting in line to get through the gate.
