Hungry Are The Damned! 10/15/07-10/25/07 - COMPLETED W/LOTS OF PICS!!!

I loved your update Brenda! The pictures of the restaurant that you ate breakfast in were just beautiful. It's too bad that the food didn't quite measure up to the ambiance.;) I've always wanted to tour the Everglades, and after seeing your pictures, I'm going to put that on the top of my list of things to do. Can't wait to hear about the Yacht experience.:woohoo:

Ypur blog is making me crack up-for some reason I can see you staring at the trophy wives. :rotfl: :rotfl:

The latest update was hilarious and I very much sympathize with the notion of avoiding the special healthy shots for fear of tummy distress!

WOW Bendy, what a travel day you guys had. I'm just catching up from evacuating, can't wait for more!:goodvibes

Hi Kathy! Thanks for taking the time to read while you're trying to settle back in at home. And I hope that Ike hasn't disrupted life for you guys again.

Thanks for reading! The hotel was lovely, no doubt about it. But breakfast was nothing to get excited about. The Everglades were just amazing; if you get the chance to take a tour there definitely do it! As for the yacht ... I'm not sure if I really have the words to do it justice but I'll try my best! :goodvibes

Hi Hedy! Glad you're getting some chuckles out the blog. The funny thing about these "trophy wives" is that they weren't. They were just plain old normal looking ladies ... some of them were older than me, some of them were younger; some of them needed to diet more than I do, some of them didn't need to diet at all. I think they were trying to impress each other - I gave up on that a long time ago.

Thanks for reading!

Thanks for reading ... glad you liked the update! :goodvibes

My kids LOVED the pics of the gators! Wow.

I'm glad John doesn't work in a place where wives are competing.
I'm totally NOT a dress to impress kind of gal. LOL

I hate to be disappointed by breakfast. But it does help if it's on someone else's dime. :thumbsup2

My bro & sil are going on an airboat tour in Feb. I'll have to show them your pics. Their kids will be excited.

Have a great weekend.

Bendy... Bendy... Bendy...

(I know... Cary Grant never said it...but it sounded so good...:lovestruc )

As a representative of your loyal readers...:dance3: I find it is time to inform you that since it is about a month out... you need to start the trippie for THIS years F&W fest...

(for the following reasons...)

1. the powers that be will shut this one down in another 116 pages:sad2:

2. You've already won the award for the longest running off broadway foodie tr!!!! ..:cheer2:

&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&

3. If the planets line up right very soon... I:hippie: MAY BE MENTIONED IN IT!!!!

Besides... Planky's getting hungry... :thumbsup2

(rumor has it that it was him that overturned the homemade salsa at the WB repo wedding last week...he was last seen running away :tiptoe: chips in hand...)

So please let the members of the Bendy Fan club party: know when you come up with yet another catchy title... I know that we will sign up in a flourish... a flourish of what... I have no idea... but we'll be there...

& hey...
Have a nice day!!! :goodvibes

Glad you and the kids liked the Everglades pics ... hope your bro & his wife find them a little useful. It really was a fun experience.

I'm not sure if the wives were all competing with each other or with themselves or what it was ... it just struck me as very odd that the Everglades was the spot where so many of them chose to make a statement. And it wasn't a very good statement if you ask me! :lmao:

Hey Bridget! Too funny that you mentioned Jaws ... I think someone in our group started humming the theme when the gator first showed up and started circling the boat.

Thanks for reading ... I hope to have the yacht segment finished tomorrow.

Dear Aunt Shell,

thank you for the kind words. :goodvibes

I have every intention of starting a pre-trippie for the next batch of food porn as soon as I finish the blog stuff from Boca Raton. Since I've changed ADRs and plans so many times since the end of August it won't hurt to wait another week or two to make sure that things are set in quickly drying sand. ;)

I do hope that you will be able to make the Blue Zoo feast ... Plankton will be most disappointed (as will we) if you're unable to join us.

Take care and thanks again for being so sweet!

PS. I love Cary Grant ... :lovestruc

Hi there and welcome to the DIS! :goodvibes Thanks for reading and for posting to let Jay and me know how much you've enjoyed our taste travels. :flower3:

How many days until my vicarious trip?!

:rotfl2: Ummm, lemme think ... 24 days! :yay: :dance3:

Good afternoon all! The weather has finally calmed down here as the remnants of Ike are just about done pounding this area of the midwest. It's still pretty windy but after going out four times, our power appears to be staying on for the duration.

I updated the blog again with our afternoon yachting experience. Come visit when you have a chance! :goodvibes

Brenda,
I know you get this a lot but I just had to tell you that I love reading your posts. You are a very talented and comical writer. And I love the Grimace stories. Does your mom know you refer to her as Grimace. I think if my mom knew the names I called her she would stop speaking to me...permanently.

Great update Brenda! I don't get why people "dress" for outings like a swamp tour.:confused3

I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the view from the room....:rotfl2:

That yacht was incredible, thanks for posting so many pics. That was probably the closest I'll ever get to one.:goodvibes

Cletus & Brandine???? :rotfl2: :lmao: PMSL I loved your blog and the pics were beautiful. Someone was missing though....where was the Plankton? Cletus & Brandine would have NEVER left him at home! :rotfl:

Brenda,
Those yacht pictures were great.:goodvibes How I'd love to be sitting in that whirlpool about now sipping some wine and cruising down the Intercoastal Waterway.....Guess I better buy some Powerball tickets too. :rotfl:

Ohh and that sushi platter, looked wonderful. :goodvibes I would have benn right with you and Jay scarfing that down. :)

Unfortunately, the Powerball idea is shared by millions and very few win:rotfl2: You know the old saying though "you've got to be in it to win it"!:thumbsup2 Thanks so much for sharing the beautiful pictures of your tour. It is amazing to see how the other half lives. Can't wait to hear about your evening.;)

Bendy...

We will wait with joyous expectation for the announcement of your latest work of food (and wine) extravaganza!!!!

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Cary Grant... Not sure if it's North by Northwest, or That Touch of Mink... although... Operation Petticote was hysterical... but... you know... Arsenic and Old Lace.... :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
