needed - anyone taken this tour recently??

I understand it is 5 hours and $195. -

We are scheduled to take this tour on Monday, Sept 15th, before our backstage magic the next day. When I talked with someone at Warner Bros. to get info on the tour we were also told $195 and 5 hours which included lunch. He also told us that it was very limited in size (I think 12 or 15 people). He also said we would have to reserve and pay for our spots ahead of time over the internet. I was concerned that a group could easily decide to take the tour and all the spots would be gone so I went right ahead and reserved ours. I read some other tour reviews and compared this deluxe tour to the 2 hr. VIP tour and decided if we were only going to be there once and only had time for one special tour this sounded like the best. If you check some of the Backstage Magic trip reports you will find some good reviews of the Warner Bros. tour with them.

thanks.

I booked my tour the day before also - but didn't have to pay up front.

The rep. from WB said I could pay that morning, not a problem. Actually it was not available online but he said there was room, not to worry. He gave me his direct line to call just in case I could not make it, as I am not renting a car until later and have to find transportation after I arrive at the hotel. I am sure I can get a cab or the bus.

My family and I took this tour early this month and we enjoyed it. The five hours went by really fast. We saw exteriors for many old and newer movies/TV shows. ("Gilmore Girls" was mentioned often; it's too bad we'd never seen that show!) Going on the set of the police station from "Cold Case" was my favorite part. We also watched as "The Mentalist" filmed exterior shots.
Of course, shooting schedules determine what you'll see on the tour. Our guide did say, however, that the upcoming months typically are the busiest.
We usually don't spend that kind of money for a one-day deal, but, in this case, we thought the tour was worth it. (Lunch was good, too.)
