I was recently asking about recreation/activity schedules so I grabbed a couple quick photos at Jambo House on Sunday. Sorry for the glare on the photos but I did try to increase the contrast to help with legibility.

Thanks! Do you know if the Kidani pool had earlier opening hours? It seems like the quiet pools usually open earlier than 10, but I don't see any evidence of a quiet pool at either Kidani or Jambo. Oddly, the Disney website doesn't seem to list the pool hours. Maybe they change too often to post them.

My bf and I decided to splurge for our last day/ night, which is a nonpark day, and booked Kidani Village savannah view studio for the one night since its always been my dream to stay at AKL. is there anything i can special request, view wise or anything else? Want to make the most of it as this is a super exciting first for me!!!!

I’d request Sunset Savanna view, because the other savanna view - Pembe - is smaller & d/n have giraffes. Maybe near Timon elevator, again to avoid Pembe savanna & to be nearer the lobby since the halls are very long. Personally I’d ask for a lower floor so as to be nearer to eye level w/ the animals. Piggy backing off of these posts- DS and fiancé rented DVC points and booked through David’s a savanna studio in Kidani for honeymoon next spring. If they rented points are they able to make requests as far as room location? I know they will be spending a good bit of time watching the animals so would like them to be in a good spot. Is the sunset savanna view something they can/should request?

The only current request options are near elevator and near lobby. They would have to or have to the person they are renting from call directly to add Sunset Savanna as a add on to their notes.

We were unable to get a reservation for this trip, but are doing AK the following day and wanted to see the AKL resort area this Friday. Do they allow you to drive up and walk around the lobby, etc, experiencing the paid activities and the like? We just don’t want to get turned around at the gate given the lack of daytime ADR options.

I used the chat option on the app and made the request for this view... im sure they can too but tell them to use the chat option instead of calling and being on hold for hours!

AKL Jambo is not open other than for DVC, which also means no gift shop or restaurants (mid-day the only food and drink option is the pool bar). I'm not certain what is open mid-day at Kidani Village besides the gift shop since we stayed at Jambo. I would say if you want to go look around, hop on a bus from AK to AKL and do it.

IIRC, most were free. Paid activities would be things like tie-dying shirts, which are not specific to AKL.

We got back on Monday and did not see any of these activities- but we also were not specifically looking for them. All I am certain of was that they had trivia at the pool, and that there would not be restaurant tours because only The Mara was open (breakfast and dinner).

According to a site that I can’t list here, Cast Members at Animal Kingdom Lodge have been telling guests that reopening dates have been set for Boma, Jiko and Victoria Falls Lounge.

This is still a rumour, but feels like a credible one.

Boma is scheduled to reopen on Aug 20th.
Victoria Falls Lounge is scheduled to reopen on Aug 26th.
Jiko is scheduled to reopen in late September.

With the recent return of serve yourself buffets at Disneyland (Storytellers Cafe) I am really hopeful that Boma will return as a buffet

Each resort has a feature pool. There are no quiet pools. It’s possible that when Jambo has a full reopening Aug 26th the pool will open at 9. I wouldn’t expect it any earlier.

We're open to pretty much anything. My wife and kids (and me!) like just walking the grounds of the hotels and taking in the theming. Just wandering through the lobby and shops and seeing the animals is good enough for us (whether its the main AKL or the DVC buildings). We just wanted to check out the grounds and I'm hearing it's difficult to get on-site at some places unless you have an ADR lined up already. Thanks!

You won't have any problems visiting any resorts if you arrive via Disney transportation.

Disney transportation is the key. We had to use our magic band to enter AKV when we had our rental car. Otherwise you have to stop at guard gate.

I am very excited - just switched our CBR stay for a split stay Pop and AKL! We have 6 nights at AKL, Feb 27-Mar 5. Our last trip we had dinner at Sanaa, and spent some time wandering around after, both at Kidani and Jambo house. We all fell in love with the resort.

Extremely excited! We are booked for a stay at Kidani Village from May 1 - May 7, 2022. This will be my family’s first trip to WDW.

It took a lot of reading and asking questions, but I’m confident that staying at AKL is the best choice for us. My fam is going to love it!

Now, of course, the long wait begins!
