Have never stayed in a 2 bedroom and wondering about standard views! Our last stays at Jambo, even standard view had a partial savanna view. But Kidani, we saw parking lot. Booked at Kidani for the extra bathroom but….Should I try for Jambo instead?

If you value the extra bathroom more then stick with kidani. If you want the possibility of a good standard view pick Jambo. Only you can decide which is more important to you.

You have a much better chance of overlooking a savanna in a standard view at Jambo. Even the worst Jambo standard views overlook some roofs w/ the pool area beyond. The only DVC parking lot views at Jambo are a couple of the value studios.

However, all of the Jambo 2 br.s are lock offs & those sofa beds in the studio portion aren’t comfortable IMO. In fact we’ve switched to staying in Jambo 2 br.s to avoid that sofa bed in the studios or 1 br.s.
Kidani offers dedicated 2 br.s w/ 2 Queen size beds in the 2nd bedroom as well as the 3rd bathroom in addition to lock off 2 br.s. You might try requesting near the Pumba elevator at Kidani which might get you one of the few standard Kidani villas overlooking the small Pembe savanna, although you’d have a walk to get to the lobby.

Room wise, Kidani 2BRs are significantly better. About a 100 sq ft larger than Jambo’s with 3 bathrooms, and a master bath that has separate shower and tub compared to Jambo’s combined tub/shower with a high and wide step over making it hard to get into the tub. You can get a dedicated 2BR at Kidani, where the second bedroom has two queen beds, and the balcony is one long balcony running past all three rooms, while at Jambo, they are all lock-offs, with a bed and pull-out couch in the studio, and have a wall on the balcony separating the studio from the 1BR.

Kidani’s pool is smaller but has a much longer slide and a fairly large water-play area for kids. For restaurants, Jambo wins with three good restaurants, a table service, buffet, and counter service, to Kidani’s one, but also good, table service. Jambo also has the larger and more impressive lobby and much larger store.

As to standard view, Jambo has the advantage because more than half the standard view rooms have savanna view, the rest pool view. The non-guaranteed request to make there is for a room on the Kudo Trail side of the building because all standard views on that side have savanna view of the Sunset savanna.

The Kidani standard view rooms are mostly truly standard view — roadway, bus station, front entrance area, view towards the pool area. However, there are a number of standard views that have a direct view of the Pembe savanna. The request to make to have best chance to get one of those is for a room near the Pumba elevator. Although, If you get that raequest, you will have very long walks to the lobby and bus station.

Whoa! Thanks for the expert explanation! ☺️ Perhaps more comfortable beds plus an extra bathroom are worth the view trade off with 4 teens. Off to make my waitlist requests!
