This. Definitely this.
Star Wars fans camped out for days just to see Episode 1, so yeah the answer is “as absolutely early as Disney will allow”.
Agreed!! So bummed. My daughter is 2 & we're taking her for the 1st time Sept 10-14 & I hope we can still make it fun for her & us not be miserable!
WHAT? You're not already in line?
I keep telling myself "They'll be happy even if we just stay at the pool all day," but then realize I could have put a pool in at my own house for the amount we're paying lol
Except the maintenance costs is what gets you on a pool, they are very expensive to maintain and insure. But again, I really think everyone is worrying for nothing, yes the land will be crowded for a while, but it will die down and it will only slightly affect the crowds at Hollywood Studios.I keep telling myself "They'll be happy even if we just stay at the pool all day," but then realize I could have put a pool in at my own house for the amount we're paying lol
I really don't think you gave much to be worried about, yes you might not get into Galaxy's Edge easily, but the rest shouldn't be too much of a problem, especially if you get FP+ before going and make sure you have an ADR at Hollywood Studios on the day(s) you want to go there, just in case they do a phased closing.I am going Sept 15-21 and I was upset at first but then just decided I'm just going to suck it up. I am unable to change my week with work, my AP expires Sept 24th and I have no plans to renew since we are doing Disneyland Paris next year (planned to avoid SWGE until 2021) and airfare is already booked. I will try and see if I can get into the land but not expecting to and if I do no plan of trying to ride the ride, just want to try blue and green milk, lol. I had planned on waiting 1.5 years to go after it opened but now that I am stuck going 2 weeks after it opens I have no choice but to suck it up and make the best of it, I will just spend more time at F&W.
I’m a bit later than you guys but the shock has worn off and my husband said either we go Oct 26- Nov 1 or not at all. So even a crowded day at disney is better than a day at home. I’ll be closely watching the opening and crowds and I’m pretty much throwing crowd calendars out the window. I expect it to be crowded. I also expect us to have a wonderful time
My thoughts exactly! My bf and mom don't understand why I'm so mad about this news.
Is WDW opening in phases too or is that just DL? Will people wait for phase 2 to come? I am going October 5-12. Think it will have died down a bit then?
I'm giving serious consideration to just eating my MNSSHP ticket price and the change fee on my airline tickets and going to visit my parents over the weekend of Rosh Hashanah (yes, I know it's sundown Sunday through sundown Tuesday). I haven't bothered with anything in the Studios in years (I only like Muppets, ToT, and Fantasmic anyway now that the Great Movie Ride is gone), but the overflow idea is NOT fun. Since I have an AP and room only, I can wait a bit longer to cancel, but I'm going to take my first feel of the temperature on March 31 when I can make ADRs. If it's hard to get even the usually easy to get ones, immediate cancel. If it's not, the next test will be FP+. Again, not even planning to go near Studios, but I'll see what the availability is. Too crappy and I'll cancel. And final stage if FP+ are not horrid, I'll probably hold onto the reservation until after the first couple of weeks and then make a call on it, cancelling if the other parks are insane.
I’m working on ADR’s for opening weekend now. I’m not having issues with availability (even at DHS).
