Magic band question

When you personalize your magic band with a name does Disney have restrictions or can you write anything?

Yes, they would not allow us to use a nickname my husband goes by, which is absolutely not inappropriate at all. (Pito, which is short for Papito. His nickname since he was a kid was Papo). Maybe it's inappropriate in some other language, but not Spanish or English.

There's also a limit on the number of characters you can use, so the nickname has to be short. IIRC correctly, it can be no more than 9 characters.

A lot of people use this as an opportunity to keep track of how old each Magic Band is. So instead of trying to be fancy with a name or nickname, they might put initials and the year of the trip.

We've used tons of nicknames in the past. Hambone, porkchop, hershey, and on and on.....
