I have a disability and use a wheelchair. My husband and I have gone to disney world twice and I went 2 or 3 times as a child. Last time we went I stayed in Pop Century resort. The time before we stayed off campus and took a bus in.
When we go (hopefully in the Winter 2019 Feb or March) we may be going with a foster child. I keep thinking that it is worth the money to stay at the Contemporary because of access via the monorail. I think it will help that we can walk to the Magic Kingdom and easily jump on the monorail to get around.
Where can we go on the monorail if we stay at the Contemporary? Can we wait inside, in the air conditioning? How long will be we waiting?
If we stay anywhere else we will have to get on the bus and that takes a long time. We will have to load onto the bus and make sure there is plenty of space for the wheelchair (which doesn't always happen). We may also be traveling with a stroller.
I've heard about the new Minnie Vans. Are these wheelchair accessible? What if we took our own wheelchair accessible van. How much is parking at the parks? Can we bounce around or does it cost each time you park?
Thanks for all the information. We are trying to do this trip affordably but also not wait around in the heat forever and ever. I have MS and the heat is hard on me.
