I've been having trouble with my eyesight, and on March 1st and March 15th I had cataract surgery. I have had double vision since the second operation. I was sent to a double vision specialist and yup he said he can confirm my double vision... He sent me to a opthamologist-neurologist. I had to wait 2 months for an appointment and was seen on Thursday. He suspects MG and I went for an MRI on Friday and he ordered bloodwork which I had done on Thursday.
I don't drive much, just in the neighborhood, and use an eye patch and dark glasses. I've always been an independent soul so this dependency on other people is driving me nuts. I should know the results in a couple of days.
I might have to get prism glasses to bring the eyes back to seeing one image instead of two (side-by-side). Wish me luck.

When I had face Shingles a few years ago, about two months after the shingles hit I started to have double vision. I went to an ON also; anyway, it took about six months for everything to clear up.

A was able to drive as I could recognize which was the real image and which was the incorrect one; although I had to be careful as my depth perception was messed up badly.

If it is MG there are meds that will help, esp. if it's limited to ocular MG. I hope they find the cause of the double vision at least- I know it's tough to be dependent on others. ---Kathy

My mother had trouble with double vision and had a surgery. She is now wearing the prism glasses to help correct them.

My brother has had Myasthenia Gravis all his life. He has a very rare form in which he has had to deal with all the muscle issues, etc since he was born. he was diagnosed with it when he was in kindergarten. He is now in his thirties. The medicine he takes really works well for him. With the medicine he can function at normal levels. He likes to golf, etc.

I don't have a good diagnosis yet, but I wanted to share that I picked up my new progressive lens eyeglasses with a temporary prism in the left lens.
Its a miracle, I can see great now, and no double vision when wearing the glasses. Its a different story when I take them off, but today I got to drive my car on the highway. My surgery was March 15th, so I really have not been doing highway driving since then.
They gave me a temporary prism because they feel my eyes are still unstable so I have to be careful that I don't rub it off the lens. It just looks like a thin piece of saran wrap. I'll get used to it.
