Nemo canceled?

This is actually rather common.
It can (and does) happen at any of the stage shows.

It is often a quite minor (thank goodness) technical issue (and fortunately not usually an actor mishap,) but since ALL of the lighting, music and special effects are
tied to one central timecode-synced system, if there is any glitch, they have to cancel the show to reboot everything back to "Cue #1."

Not an IT guy, but I am surprised that the whole system would require a reboot to the beginning. Seems we have the technology to be able to skip to any point. No?

I am totally not an expert on this, but I think the human element in the shows like Lion King and Nemo in conjunction with the IT element make hitting the "rewind" button harder.

We've been at FOTL when the cut the show short (after "Just Can't Wait to be King"). It was because of a medical emergency.

They can pick it up anywhere of course, (rehearsals, for instance)
but their normal live show performance protocol is what I described.

If its a tech issue,
cancel the current show, check the systems, and if OK, start from the top at the next scheduled show-time that day.

happened the first time we saw mermaid. went back later and saw the whole show. annoying that it wastes time

One time we were at Aladdin at Disneyland and the fire alarm went off. We were all the way at the top of building and everyone had to leave. We had to be escorted out and down the 152 steps that came with it. It sucks when it happens for sure.

I agree that it would be jarring to suddenly have everyone run off stage without a warning. If it's not an emergency there should be a recording that comes on as everyone is running off stage. Something to the effect of,
" Ladies and Gentlemen, like Dory the memory of our technical systems has malfunctioned. We regret that we will not be able to continue the current show. We wish you a most magical day as you explore all that Disney's Animal Kingdom has to offer. Please use the nearest exit as you make your way back into the park."
