Thinking about trying to get lunch at Whispering Canyon, we will have our 4 yr old w/ us. Any opinions on the food/atmosphere???
We have PS for Breakfast one day and Fantasmic Dinner package another day but thinking about lunch one day also.

Happy Holidays

My DW, DD (almost 4) and I had lunch at WC on Friday, 11/21.

We had a great time. It was not crowded (probably about a third of the tables were full) but it was still pretty active.

I really enjoyed the BBQ Chicken sandwich, my DW liked the meatloaf and our DD still can't stop talking about the "chicken fingers at Wilderness Lodge".

Our server was personable without being overbearing and they did the critter call (our DD did a carnotaur).....

Overall, it was one of the better meals of our trip.

We just came back from WDW 11/23-11/28 and we had breakfast and dinner at Whispering Canyon.

While breakfast was more subdued, dinner was sure a riot. We had Genaro for our server (or Gino Casino as he called himself). We had DS5 and DS3 with us, and everytime a table yelled ketchup!! he was up and running with it.

DSs also had fun doing the pony races, and DS5 even drew a picture of him and Gino which he stuck to one of the posts with mickey stickers. My son got to go home with his napkin bandana and he proudly wears it even now.

They throw rolls at you and make napkin hats... My sons just absolutely loved it. My DH fell in love with the food.
Whispering Canyon was definitely by far our favorite spot for a meal and some fun.

The food was excellent... the crowds hilarious... and the servers were just the best.:sunny:

I have had lunch a few times at WC. They used to have a sandwich called the Doc Willets. It isn't on the menu with that name but a very similar one is still there. It is a chicken breast with cheddar cheese and bacon and espresso BBQ sauce. Mmmm. In any case, some of the waitstaf know what you want if you ask for a Doc Willets. The food has been very good and there is sometimes loads of activities depending on how busy it is.
