Thanks Rachel!:) Simon (Hubby) has been doing some serious stuff today - sticking in printed timetables to his passporter book and informing me on a regular basis that it's 50 days today until WDW!!!

Let me inflict more 2006 pics on you:

Hey there Madam, it is a small world isn't it? ;)

I am sooooooooo unbelievably jealous you're down to 50 days already and that you have the free dining plan - you'll love it and want to go at that time again every year!

Just catching up with what I've missed so far and joining the Yorkshire massive!

The cheese soup at Le Cellier is uber awesome and you have to HAVE TO try it!

I didn't know they were thinking of closing Cirque at DTD :scared1: Think we might have to plan it into our trip, if it's still open then! I have to trust your recommendations after you pointed us in the direction of the Cali Grill - it was scrummy :cloud9:

Looking forward to hearing more of your plans, so i can live the Disney dream through you guys while we're (not so) patiently waiting for our time to come.....

Sounds like a good trip, and looks like you had a fab time last time. We are on our first trip to WDW in Oct.

I have been to Disneyland 2 times once with a friend in 2000 and then with hubby and number 1 son in 2007.4

Look forward to reading more.

Kirsten

Hey Meryll!!

It is indeed a small world?!? A small town too!;)

We may be at 50 days but you have something unbelievably exciting to look forward to at WDW next year!!! We are very jealous - Simon wants to renew our vows there - what's wrong with our old vows? Ahhh....perfect except for no Disney magic!!!

It's been fantastic chatting to all these Yorkshire (and otherwise!) Disney fans!

The cheese soup is a definite then. I'm going to try sooooo hard to try new, exciting food at Disney - there's so much to try!!!

Kirsten - you are going to have the best time EVER. I was really looking forward to going in 2006 - not quite as manic as my hubby (as Meryll will attest!) but nothing prepared me for the amazingness (?) that was WDW. I have never had so much FUN in my entire life. To leave all the stresses and strains of the real world behind, just to get up and think of how are we going to have fun today? Fantastic.
The magic really worked on the whole family too. We just laughed and laughed, and ate and drank! Regressing to childhood was great!::yes::

The holiday to come will be fantastic but at this stage it is just nice knowing you have it all to look forward to.

54 days and counting

Damn we have worked darned hard this year. I only get home at weekends and I feel as if I am just working to live and not getting the life bit.

Yep, Disney is a place to kick back, enjoy, have a laugh, have a good time, meet nice peeps and eat eat eat.

We all love Disney but my family teases me about it because I am a big bloke and I have a serious tech job......but I'm only 14 inside

Oh, did I mention 54 days

Aardvarks - I'll take your 54 days and raise you 49!!!:lmao:

Okay, let's talk parks. Parks and rides! (Lol!)

Magic Kingdom: Okay, I'm not the bravest person when it comes to thrill rides. I leave the rollercoasters to Simon and Kate (11). They love all the 'mountains' etc. But I do like a bit of a thrill....It's a small world doesn't really get my pulse racing but I'll still do it. Here are some things I enjoyed last time and am looking forward to again:

Pirates of the Caribbean
Buzz Lightyear
Stitch's Great escape
The Haunted Mansion
Dumbo (can't help it!)
Carousel
Flying Carpets
Peter Pan
Winnie the Pooh
Philharmagic
Jungle Cruise

Now, this trip we have all decided to try something new, something that might scare us a little. I have decided that I might just give Big Thunder Mountain a try. Any reassurance from anyone?

I just hate big drops which rules out Splash Mountain and Space Mountain - hubby reassures me that BTM has no big drops. I love 'fast' and 'bumpy' rides, just not plummeting rides.

Sarah (14) likes pretty much the same things I do, so we keep each other company. So our party will spend some time split in two - nice and simple, as well as having fun altogether!

We have an ADR for Liberty Tree Tavern (lunch) on our first day in MK. I'm also hoping to try Columbia Harbour House for a CS - I completely passed it by in 2006! Then we went in Cosmic Rays and Pinnocchio's Village Haus - fine for CS but quite busy.

So that's our plans for MK - of course there are other things we'll go on if we get the chance. We are thinking about nipping into MK on the first night we get there - MK IS Disney to us and we always like to head there first!

Aardvarks - have you stayed in Disney before? Which resorts do you like?

Sharixxxx

If Big Thunder is the same as the one at Disneyland then there were no big drops, just lots of medium ups and downs. It was great fun. Give it ago, and if you don't like it you never have to go on it again, but you might love it worth the try once just for that I think.

Kirsten

Okay - let's talk Animal Kingdom!

I loved this park in 2006 - (Mother in Law was not so keen as she got bitten to pieces by insects!)

Firstly - animals! Lots and lots of animals!! My faves were the gorillas - I could have stayed there watching them for ages! I love the big cats also.

We started off on the safari - of course - which was great fun. I also loved Kali River Rapids - although Simon neglected to tell me about the drop in it! However, it was very manageable! Even Sarah, who's more wussy than me, loved it.

I think though, my fave AK ride is Dinosaur - it scores heavily on my list of what makes a good ride. It's dark, scary, bumpy and frenetic - great fun! The photo of our group is hilarious - the three adults who went on it are all cowering slightly but laughing at the huuuuuuuugggggeee dinosaur. The three kids are nowhere to be seen! I think they were hiding on the floor of the jeep.
A great ride.

Simon and Kate also loved Expedition Everest - needless to say Sarah and I didn't go on it - we just kept hearing the screams as people were shot out of the mountain in various directions!

One thing we didn't really do in Ak are any of the shows - and we hope to remedy this in August.

As for food - we had CS at the Flame Tree Barbecue. The food was really good and different for CS. However, I found the outdoor seating a bit hot!

This time we have got ADRs for Tusker House which is now a buffet restaurant. I'm really looking forward to this - I like trying all different bits of food!:)

If you like Dinosaur you'll be fine on BTMRR, as Dinosaur is a much rougher ride, but still so much fun! :thumbsup2 Big Thunder may just convert you into a (small) rollercoaster fan - In fact it may become your new favourite ride at WDW!

Try and see Finding Nemo the Musical if you can at AK, we really enjoyed this and ended up seeing it twice.

That's what Simon says!! I could well turn into a BTMRR obsessive! I always loved Casey Junior at DLP but I think that might be a little tamer than BTMRR. I like to strike the right balance between fun and fear!

Nemo is definitely on our list of things to do at AK! We missed the Lion King show too last time!

Here are a couple of Animal Kingdom in 2006:

Have a great time! We LOVED free dining and managed to use all the credits :rolleyes1 The crowd levels were fab too, so manageable :cool1:

Hi Folks,
We're another Yorkshire Family finally visiting the Mouse in July. We hail from the home of the Bear, again not too far from Guiseley, where I lived for a couple of years. We're staying at POR and have been planning like mad since we found the dis boards. ADR's booked, even planned what order we'll try and do the rides in. As we're now in single figures:woohoo: , all we have to do is pack, repack, change the plans, change again:rotfl2: and just play it by "ears" when we get there!

Hey Patimouse!!

Another Yorkshire Disney fiend!

Single figures! That's really......soon! Make sure you give us a DETAILED account when you get back! We're all so hungry for details (I especially like the food porn!).

Hope you have an amazing time!(I'm sure you will!) Have you been before?

Shari

I'm really looking forward to going to EPCOT again.

In 2006 we stayed at the Beach Club Villas so it was so convenient to just saunter into EPCOT if we had a bit of time to spare! This time we'll have to get used to using the 'front entrance'!!

We're aiming to be in EPCOT on Friday 15th August - we have an ADR at Coral Reef. I'm really looking forward to this - the restaurant looks amazing! Of course, there have been some dodgy reviews of the food and service but we're going with an open mind!

We're also due in EPCOT at the end of the hol - 25th - when we have an ADR at Le Cellier - another restaurant which I'm dying to try!

Of course we may have to try some Yorkshire Fish and chips too!! As for CS meals - any recommendations?? There are so many to choose from!

I'm wracking my brain as to where we ate last time - I think we just snacked mainly, due to the fact that we were so close to the hotel - we would go back and make a sandwich. But this time - we are going to eat big time!!

As for EPCOT attractions, one of my fave ever rides was here - Test Track! I loved it soooo much! I screamed like a girl when we flew through those doors and onto the track. But i also laughed so much on that ride that I nearly cried! Fantastic! I went into EPCOT one night with just Kate and we went on Test Track at night - amazing! Test Track is the ride that our eldest, Sarah (14) is going to try this time. I think she will love it! It's great when we find rides we can all go on!

We never tried Soarin' last time so we hope to remedy this. I also want to do the tame version of mission space - Si and Kate did it last time and now want to do the 'full on' version!

Here are some EPCOT photos from 2006:

The table service credits are all accounted for, I suspect the snack credits will soon disappear, I'm just wondering whether we will manage to use all our CS credits up, seeing as we are having four days out of the parks. I suppose some days we might have a CS breakfast, TS lunch, and a CS supper!

Ahhh...all that food! I'm drooling already! (44 days and counting!)
