He kept using his manners and holding the doors open for EVERYONE while we were at the aquarium
People kept commenting that people just dont do that anymore

(and yes he holds the doors other places too)

He sounds like a very nice young man. Tell him to stay a gentleman, maybe his acts of kindness will rub off on others. I too old doors for others, and its nice too hear thank you back. He sounds very kindhearted.

I love to see kids learning to use their manners. My 4yo dd loves to hold doors open whenever we go somewhere. She loves to have people thank her and tell her how nice it was for her to hold the door. I think people sometimes forget to teach their kids some basic manners. They are probably the same people that don't say thank you when someone holds the door open.

What a wonderful thing for him to do. I hope others will learn from his manners.

My son used to do that kind of stuff when he was 4 & 5 y/o but now that he's a matured 7 y/o, he'll let the door slam in your face!

This is great to hear. My son is almost 7 and I must say is also a true gentleman, I take great pride in this.

Most people are surprised and say a big thank you, but so many just walk through and say nothing. To those people he loudly states "Your Welcome" I love seeing their red faces after being embarrassed by a 7yr old.

DS will be 11 in 10days. Im glad he doesnt think he's too "cool" to be polite

While I think it's wonderful that he has the good manners to open doors for others, and while I agree that it is rude of people to not say thank you, I can't help but feel that allowing a child to purposely embarass adults pretty much negates the good manners of opening the door.
