I worked it out .....

What does everyone think of Wet Parks at WDW are they worth going to?

If they're part of the the ticket package you buy then go for it if they're your thing, but it all depends on whether you like water parks. Personally, I'm not sold on them (walking around all day in a wet swimsuit....:sad2:) but the kids enjoy them.

Having said that though, when we sat down for our pow-wow the other night about what we'll be doing this year, all 4 of them decided they'd like to give the water parks a miss this year because there are other things they'd rather do. And as my nephew quite rightly pointed out, when you come from Australia where pools and beaches are on the doorstep, and there's a perfectly good pool at the hotel, why do you want to waste a day at Disney at a water park?

 Hi all We are a family of 2 adults 4 Kids 15, 13 ,12,10 heading to the USA July 30 and returning 5th September.
We booked Perth-Dallas with Qantas for $9000 which i am very happy about $1000 less than what we paid last year!

We will be at DW 5 nights August 20th to 25th and 2 nights Nick resort first. WE havent been to DW before and i was excited but there seems so much more info to take in than DL and I am finding it so much more expensive than DL. Last year we went to DL stayed offsite for 7 days and only paid $2200 including DL passes but anyway this year it is DW.
Last year we went for 24 nights and we drove 5500 miles.

I am really hoping there will be another release of FD plan for our dates was not even looking at DW had planned to go back to DL but it suits us better to land at Dallas saves us a lot of driving time.

Can someone please tell me how to put up a countdown ticker please?

:woohoo: If i can count corectly we have 159 days to go:woohoo:

For the countdown ticker go up to User CP and down the left side Edit Signature and there wil be a banner for Dis Tickers, click that and create your ticker :)

Sounds like you have a great holiday planned!

Welcome to Disboards and the Australian section.

Good price on your flights from Perth.

Are you driving/touring from Dallas or having a connecting flight?

:tinker: Thanks for that it still took me awhile to work out though :rotfl:

We are driving from Dallas our only flights will be the ones in and out of the USA. My husband likes to drive and see the country side.
We were thinking of flying to New York and then to St Louis but that ment we had to cut out Niagara Falls and made the car hire to complicated so driving it is.

We end up driving all over the place this trip though Dallas to New York
To Niagara Falls To St Louis then to Moline to Knoxville Iowa then to :woohoo:DisneyWorld:woohoo: back up to Bristol and The Smokey Mountains, New Orleans, Houston then back to Dallas to fly home.

Looking foward to counting down with you all:cheer2:

Cool trip - I just told DH your plans and he said he would love to do a driving trip like that!

We are all set, passports organised, flights are booked and paid, cruise booked and paid, Pop Century booked, hire car booked, Port Canaveral accom booked, transfers booked, NYC accom booked, Hard Rock Hotel booked, have money on travel card to pay for all. :woohoo:

I do need to organise a domestic flight MCO-NYC and make our ADRS - Then I Just need to waste away the next 6 months on the disboards, wish we were going in May

There is definately more information about WDW than DL, but it has two more full parks as well as two water parks etc. and many more resorts and restaurants than DLR.
I must say that I have never found WDW more than DL for what you get. In particular accomodation is much cheaper in Orlando than Anaheim. Unfortunately whilst you can never rule it out it would be unlikely that you will get FD for those dates as Disney already did a big release of dates for this year and would be aiming to try to reward early booking.

It sounds like a great trip, have a great time.

Well we have just made a huge decision. After reading months of bad reviews for All Star Movies we have made the change to Beach Club. Eeeeek tell me I am doing the right thing!!!!!!!!

:cool2:

Having never been, I cant offer any opinions but hey, the dollar is strong so probably only costing what you had planned to spend some months back. .

BTW you are family of five right, do you have to get two rooms?

Thanks for that i wont hold my breath but i can only hope the CM i spoke to said they would be releasing it again but you never know who or what to believe they seem to tell eveyone something different.

I wasn't really looking at the fact that you get more at DW but now you have pointed that out i feel heaps better about it and last year we just happened to get a really good deal but we didn't stay onsite something we have decide we will not be doing again it's onsite or don't go we got so distracted by other things on the way.

Has anyone from here ever received a pin code or do they only go to people in the USA?

Just incase anyone is thinking of going April/May i just booked Sydney to LA for a friend over the phone with airpacific for $953 return which i think is a great price we flew with them last year and found them great the kids wanted to fly with them again this year and have another stop over in Fiji on the way home.

Tap Dancer - I know people that love ASM; but I personally love the Beach Club. Can't beat the location, nor the pool.

Ok I can now officially join thread! :cool1: We are flying into Salt Lake City in September and driving around Utah, Wyoming and Colorado. We will be stopping in DL in LA on the way home. For those interested...we paid $1590 for return flights with VAustralia with internal legs by Delta.

I hate this airfare gamble.

I have booked SYD - DFW - MCO return, and I am happy with the price we paid $1250 pp. But I did have to rearrange our plans to suit and I now have to find a domestic return to New York from Orlando and pay for 3 extra nights (and all that entails, food, car hire etc). I am not going to do the math on that.

I dont know whether I would have been better off waiting for discounted tix via LAX, :confused3. I just have to be happy I have 3 extra holiday days and I should still be under my airfare budget of $1500 pp. I just wont look at airfares anymore. ;)

You did well! That is a fantastic price.

Welcome to the boards and congrats on booking your holiday!

Still haven't booked my international flight - hoping Qantas will discount further - $1470 return to LA - crossing fingers for around $1200...

I have booked 3 of my four internal flights. Pretty happy with the prices I have got. I now just need to book Las Vegas to New York!

Still need to book Vegas accomm - but hoping for some good deals come May.

Then just a couple of tours and maybe car hire and I will be paid for in FULL!!!

HOW EXCITING!!!

Mousefan down under we stayed at the Desert Rose Resort in Vegas it is non casino (next door to hooters) but just 1 block from the strip we walked to the strip and back our family loved it the breakfast was great, our kids are extremely dissappointed that we don't go back that way as it was one of their favourite hotels during our trip. At the moment they are half price on Expedia.

I started to look around for shoes suitable for wet weather - aka September in DW! Found Landsend have Mary Jane watershoes on special for US$9.97. In the overstocks section > woman > shoes.

http://www.landsend.com/pp/MaryJane...Q&CM_MERCH=IDX_00008__0000000181&origin=index

If you get some these shoes run about 1/2 size bigger than normal - I find the sizes are about the same as my Australian size. So 11 here is 11 in Landsend IYKWIM. There are a couple of other water shoes avail.

Shipping is medium range, so if you're getting a couple of things its normally ok, and they have an Australian return address :thumbsup2
