Specialty Restaurant Reservations

Is there any benefit to booking reservations for the specialty restaurants ahead of time? Do they usually fill up or will it be okay to wait until onboard? Also, all of them say kids under 5 eat free. When I add my children (who will be 4) it charges full price for them. I called the company and they said that they would refund the difference onboard. That does not sit well with me.

If you don't book in advance, you may not be able to reserve. Book in advance if it is a 'must do' on your cruise. RCCL will credit your acct back while on board. We are Diamond members with them and have never had an issue.
