I wonder if the resort will charge me for parking my X-wing.....
Thanks, Ryan. I'm still of the crowd that thinks they almost HAVE to do some type of immersive entryway into the land from this location. Will be interesting to see how it all plays out.

And since the SW Resort is sort of in a "super-deluxe" category all its own, would you see additional fees in excess of even what they're charging at the deluxes? In the interest of immersion, however, it'd be nice if they just let you crash land it in the nearby swamps for free* (*Disney not responsible for damage - retrieval costs at owner expense - Force powers highly recommended).I wonder if the resort will charge me for parking my X-wing.....
Uh, YES.And since the SW Resort is sort of in a "super-deluxe" category all its own, would you see additional fees in excess of even what they're charging at the deluxes?
I want AT-AT transportsyeah, - especially if you are supposed to be on a space ship, you will need something that functions like a transport to bring you "down" from the space ship into the land. I could see something that functions like the Hogwarts Express that moves you from one to the other and uses screens to simulate the outside
This area has already been active with the ongoing work for parking expansion and the dirt conveyor.Permits must have been approved, noticed equipment and activity at the site this week.
The area I'm referring to has seen minimal activity. As shown in the photo below, and I can confirm from first hand observation as that's the only way CMs are able to enter (arrow) DHS now, much of that location still has trees and vegetation. The activity you're referring to is adjacent to the proposed resort location. This area has already been active with the ongoing work for parking expansion and the dirt conveyor.

Nope, sure didn't. I wish I had, though. I have a pipe dream that Universal gives Star Trek the attention it deserved a couple decades ago, but I know it's just a pipe dream.

Uh, YES.
Well, at the highest end, Poly Bungalow runs $2,400-$4,200 per night, but that theoretically sleeps 8. Thinking seems to be that SW hotel MIGHT be a flat amount per person for a two-night stay — more like a short cruise.
Estimates on what that’ll run seem to vary. I’ve most often seen $1,000 per person for two nights posited — zero take on how grounded in reality this is. That would be the equivalent of the bungalow at the high season (assuming 8 people in the bungalow at $4K/night).
But I wouldn’t expect a lot of discounts...
Never said it was comparable in every way. My point was that there are already things on property at the price point being posited, WITHOUT even offering the additional experience. Makes $1,000 pp for two nights not seem insane at all. That’s my point. DH thinks they could set it higher and still sell out a boutique hotel.I just don't think there is a way to compare this to a bungalow.
...
So anyways - saying a bungalow costs $1000 per person doesn't mean much here - the room isn't really what you are paying for, and that's why it's likely to be something that will only drop slightly in price per person in the room. (Maybe it's $1000 for the first two people, and $950 for the second two in the room.)
If they read anything about it at all, they wouldn’t be surprised. Then again, I know people who went to WDW and skipped AK because “we’ve been to a zoo before”... ...I feel for the folks who heard there would be a new Star Wars hotel and are now planning to spend their week-long vacation there in 2020 (or whenever it opens). They are going to be pretty upset when they find out it isn't anything like a traditional Disney World resort. Sigh.

In any case, it’s ALL speculation — we have no idea. I look forward to getting details eventually.
Or they could go the other way around. Sky high price to start until they somewhat saturate that market and then lower prices. They’re not locked into anything. They can change the entire model from cruise-like to not. There’s a ton of flexibility. The price at opening doesn’t define sustainability over the long haul.On that we can agree - $1000 per person is not insane. The question is if it is a sustainable price model. This isn't something they can have a bunch of rich star wars nerds sign up for the first year and then cancel it. They have to price it so it is always occupied year after year. That's why I think initially the price may not be more more than $800-1000 per person, just so they can be sure they are always selling it out. They'll jack the prices up from there. I could be wrong, maybe they'll open at $2000 a person...but then there's a good chance they won't be opening with me!
