Peter Pan is my favorite FL ride. My family does not agree.

Danielle and I both love COP. I'm looking forward to seeing the updated scene whenever I make it back.

Homecomings in on my list for someday. It may be something Danielle and I do since Dennis has no interest.

Remy makes me queasy too. I did not ride it on my last visit due to this. It didn't bother me too much the first ride but the next time I did it was too much.

Great night enjoying the F&G booths and Wilderness Lodge.

I had my wine slushy and the taco vampiro, this was barbacoa beef in a corn tortilla with crispy grilled Monterey Jack cheese, salsa ranchera, and corn esquita. This was amazingly delicious and I could have had two!

Two of my favorites! We need to F&G together haha! I also love the strawberry rhubarb cake even though I’m not a huge fan of fruit based desserts.

A little real life update before the next post!

Today is my last day of my staycation! My husband and I decided to update the bathroom upstairs. This was Jack and Andi’s bathroom for many years.

When we moved in, the bathroom was rather ugly! A yellow porcelain tub and a beige tile surround. The wallpaper was seagulls on a beach with starfish. It was ugly! The floor was at least white subway tiles. The sinks were the same ugly yellow.

It is a nice big bathroom with double sinks and lots of storage just ugly. I had spruced it up the best I could for the kids and that was that!

Well, we took off the ugly wall paper and put up wainscoting with a chair rail in white and painted the rest of the wall space, a beautiful beach blue. We got new lights and mirrors and have a surface specialist coming to reglaze the tub and tile surround a bright white.

I want to change out the sinks to a white bowl and maybe change the counter. It is about half way done and I really like it. We wanted to do this on our own for the most part and keep costs down.

We set a $5,000 budget and I think we will come out at $3,000.

I rarely go upstairs and this nice bathroom will be ready for guests but won’t be used much. Andi and Jack will use it and probably say what took you two so long?

I will post some pictures once it is all done for those who want to see it.

Other than that, I have had a relaxing vacation with visits from my sister and Andi.

Back to the crazy world of nursing tomorrow!

On with the show, still a few carnival references 🎟

Genie makes an appearance for our last full day at Disney!

Imagine the carnival workers encouraging you to step right up and stack the Genie ” Step right up for a mere $30.00 + tax to experience some thrilling, cute, space filled attractions! Oh and for another $30+ tax you can do the fancy ride with minimal wait! Cmon step right up!”

Today was Monday 5/2/22 it was DHS day, followed by a character meal, and some extra hours in Epcot to end the night!

I was up bright an early to plan my day on the MDE. My goal this morning was to get ToT FP and pay extra for Rise.

The Rise, fancy ride, was scheduled for 11:30-12:30 and ToT was for 10-11.

I got up and ready for the day. I had an iced coffee and a Gideon’s cookie, oh and a banana to make this breakfast healthy.

Andi was up and at it soon afterwards and we headed to DHS around 9:30am. The park opened at 9 today.

The bus ride was uneventful and we didn’t wait long.

Our plan was to go directly to ToT and use the FP. We pretty much walked on! Look who was saying hello to us before we entered the terrifying hotel! Hi Goofy!

We made another FP for TSMM in line and it was for 11:00.

Great ride on ToT! You can pick us out in the picture since we are the only 2 wearing masks

We headed over to Toy Story Land to ride mania! The FP line was quick. I made another FP for Aliens Swirling Saucers for 12:00-1:00. I love TSMM even when I can’t break past the beaver for my prize! Solid 130,000 for me. Andi broke 200,000, yay!

It was time for Rise. We walked over from TSL, very short walk and thank goodness it was fully operational (think of the creepy emperor from Star Wars when he spit talks about the Death Star being fully operational)

Once again, we had a great ride on Rise! This never gets old.

We did notice the Kylo REN animatronic was not working, it was like this each time we rode this trip. It is in the room where he walks out to come at you and gets pulled back. He was not working. He is in several more places so not a total loss!

We got on and off by 12:15! I mobile ordered a Ronto wrap. I love this sandwich. I picked it up and enjoyed this. Andi didn’t eat anything yet.

This is delicious, the roasted sausage has a nice crisp bite. The pork and slaw compliment the sausage and the pita wrap works perfectly with this combination! Yummy

We walked back over to TSL to ride Aliens. This is a cute bumpy ride. I would never wait more than 10-15 minutes for this.

There was a PhotoPass photographer right around this area so we had a couple pictures done.


Andi made a MMRR FP for around 3-4pm. We decided to head out to one of our favorite resorts and bar area! It was around 1pm. Guess where we are going?

If you said Bar Riva at Riviera via the Skyliner you are right! You get a cheap plastic toy like at the carnival

Skyliner cooled us off, nice breezes from up high!

We found a table and ordered a few slushy drinks. Andi got a raspberry frozen daiquiri and I had the Mediterranean Wave.

These were delightful and cooling on a hot day.

Andi ordered a margherita pizza. This was lovely, light and delicious with a great crust. I enjoyed a piece of the pizza.

We really had a nice break in our day and enjoyed the drinks and food.

It was soon time to head back to DHS. We rode MMRR with a minimal wait in the FP line.

We needed to head out after this to get ready for our dinner at WL. It was The Storybook dining experience.

I feel this so hard! Why did interior designers decide for a short while that folks wanted different colored bathrooms? When we bought our house, the main upstairs bath had sky blue tile, tub, and toilet. We were only using the master bath until we found out I was pregnant with the girls, at which point their bathroom became project number one! (Actually, me growing three people was project one. But, Hubby couldn't help with that, so he got the bathroom reno on the top of his list. LOL).

The 30 minute early entry feels so silly, you spend more time than that waiting on Disney transportation to get to the parks! PPF has grown on me so much, the nostalgia is real! Tron is coming along, wonder if it will open this year, LOL! RnRC and Space Mountain are my most nostalgic rides, along with ToT, those are really the only rides I remember from my first trip when I was quite young. Love Disney ducks! Very cute Riviera tank, a fun souvenir. I really wish Uniqlo would come to MOA, I never have enough room in my luggage to get much in Disney Springs Homecomin' looks as delicious as always, but agreed on their portion sizes. I'm a big eater but their food takes me out for the day! The purple tree in LwtL is so beautiful, wow!

The Mexico food booth looks delicious, my last trip was between festivals and it sure is sad at Epcot with no festival. I did not get sick on Remy but I knew it was an immediate no for my mom, it's too bad that so many of these new dark rides have screens! Strawberry rhubarb cake sounds delicious, they need a punchcard so you forget you spent $ and everything feels free! I have never seen the bridge and stream at WL before, so pretty.

Home renovations on your own is the way to go, labor costs are so crazy high right now! ToT ride pictures are always so funny, the crying kids always get me. I don't think my friend has ever seen Kylo working properly, what a bummer for a new ride! The ronto wrap is so good, GE really improved the quick service in HS. Bar Riva looks so yummy, I will have to add that to my list. Such an easy Skyliner over from HS. Can't wait for your review on Storybook dining, I always do hear mixed things!

It is and we are slow, lol. I will have pictures to show at least of the paint job and new light fixtures. The surface specialist is very busy and he won’t get out here for awhile welcome to post pandemic timing, ugh!

Yes you have to try Bar Riva, the food is all from the QS there and the food is awesome! You are going to enjoy staying there so much! If I bought in to DVC I would buy there. I love the resort and amenities! Get the almond cold brew!!

Loving all your updates. Another rhubarb lover here. I make a great rhubarb crumble using a recipe my mum gave to me and it always reminds me of my parents. My dad grew rhubarb and my mum baked so it’s like both of them together for me
Your bathroom project sounds like it’s coming along great. Fair play to you both for taking on such a big job. I’m sure the yellow will be missed by the kids when they come home
You did a great job of stacking your rides for HS. I did not buy genie+ ( cos I’m cheap) because it bugs me that I’ve already paid for tickets and now Disney wants more. We do long trips so we usually get everything done eventually. We jumped on the skyliner to get “home” one night after we closed down HS with friends eating and drinking wine in Mama Melroses. The skyliner was shutting in 1 minute according to the attendant and we all jumped on. It was hilarious as we’d no clue where we were going in the dark. There were 9 of us and the lazy parents all loved it but the offspring were not so keen. We were staying at the YC so had to change stations but it was still better than walking back at night as I always get eaten along that river walk at night.
Loving reading about all the new rides you’ve done even more now that I’ve done them too. There’s so much to do in HS now. Hopefully the streetmosphere actors return soon too

Exactly! At least with just 2 in your party it is a little easier to do but honestly it leaves a bad taste in my mouth! We pay sooo much as it is to enjoy the parks with just the ticket expense alone! I think it is crazy. I really despise the people running Disney right now!

Yes, really good. Often Rise is already way into the evening and ToT is very hard to get because 1 side wasn’t working!

I think you and your DD should definitely check out Bar Riva via the Skyliner I think you would enjoy the resort atmosphere and it literally is a quick ride from DHS to take a little break, especially in the heat of the day.

I highly recommend. The QS Primo Piatto is well worth a visit and pick up a delicious slushy drink!

Haha! I went back upstairs and the sinks and tub are really bone color, I guess I exaggerate some on the color, lol I just know I hated the look of that bathroom. It is looking really nice with the wainscoting and paint changes. I’m excited to have the surface specialist come and change all the bone colors to white. He is coming 8/1, yay! I think you had perfect timing to have hubby do it! You had the best excuse for not helping, growing three beautiful babies was way more important!

I think this trip we really focused on lounges, drinks and food. It was really enjoyable doing things at a more relaxed pace!

I am proud of myself for doing ToT and actually enjoying it since I am somewhat of a ride chicken haha
I love looking at the pictures, you get some gems!

I think I exaggerated some, the sink and tub are actually bone color but to me ugly regardless. I am excited to spruce up the bathroom, that will likely be used 1x a month at the most

I totally agree, the 30 minutes now is such a joke! Disney decisions lately really irk me! It is a pain and for some reason everyone flocks to the parks early now. Morning use to be for us park commandos now just to crowded!
Your nostalgic rides scare me I’m a chicken and those ones are no way for me, lol
The old hour at different parks each day worked way better and kept crowds lower in the early morning,
The MOA definitely should have a Uniqlo!
Homecomin was awesome. I would have loved to try one of the brunch items but I knew it would be way to much food for me!

It is ridiculous the cost of everything. We are doing good on the budget so far. My mirrors arrived and one was cracked, yikes, so needed to return that and get another.
