Tower of Terror Bar

So you mean it will be 21+ only? Parents won't be able to stop if they have kids with them?

That's the part I have no idea on, haha. I haven't really spent much time in the lounges at WDW, so I don't know.

I'm thinking "drink kiosk themed to look like a bar" is more likely. Also, I'm thinking it will be takeout cups, not glasses like a typical "bar".

That could be it. Even so, that kiosk would be pretty deep inside the TOT building. If a non-riding guest wanted to visit, it's sort of hidden.

I'm not a drinker...at all. But I am a fan of themed areas, so this sounds like a lovely addition. Though, as a poster above mentioned, I personally feel that bars should be 21+. That's a very hard line to tow at WDW (though somehow I managed to grow up with parents who were skilled social drinkers, even at WDW, and never once being allowed to sit at the bar or for that matter even stepping foot in a bar/lounge at WDW).

Another forum posted a fan concept of where it might go (the 'unused desk'). That would be a pretty tight squeeze.

I am way more excited for this than I should be lol!

Not a fan of more alcohol in the parks. And I'm saying that as someone who likes to have a few drinks now and again. In fact, now that we're a little older, our kids are adults, etc., one of our favorite things to do is bar-hop on the monorail loop. I just don't like alcohol in the parks. It's not like a 10 on the scale of things that bother me, but if I made the rules there would be no booze in the parks. Sorry to be a party pooper...
Agree. As a parent the parks were much nicer when they were alcohol free. There are plenty of places on property to get a drink other than the parks. And yes, I have been going to Disney World at least twice a year for several years and have been visiting it once a year back before Epcot was there. Never had a problem finding a drink when we wanted one.
Oh and before you wonder how old my DS is 12. So no we are not talking about adult children.

I rather a bar than a gift shop. I have already told my DH where I will be waiting while he and DD ride that LOL!

My favorite ride! I agree about the bottleneck possibility, but I'd love some ToT-themed drinks :goodvibes
Me, too! Sounds yummy!

I'm going with my parents and my two young sons on this trip. My parents (not huge drinkers) are going to think I'm a lush bc there are so many yummy sounding specialty drinks at WDW and I am on vacation.....lol.

I will never, ever forget when my mother and I were in line for TOT two years ago. She wasn't going to ride it, but she did come in the line to check out the queue. We get to the front and she says she isn't going to ride and they direct her to another elevator. Her moment of doubt when the 'chicken exit' elevator, and the way she turned to the cast member and said "this isn't going to drop me now, is it?" is forever ingrained in my memory. So funny!

Well maybe Disney is thinking "If we get these people boozed up maybe they won't realize that we've closed half of the park, cut staffing so the rides we still have don't work, and are still increasing prices!"
I'm sure this is part of the thinking, its like getting your drinks comped when you're at a casino. Casino's don't want you to realize the amount of money you're gambling away just like Disney would like it if you don't realize the state HS is in.

More like the Tune In bar @ 50's Prime, I'd assume - kids are allowed, in fact the only bars I can think of off-hand that are 21+ are Jellyrolls & Atlantic Dance Hall at Boardwalk and the one at Coranado after a certain time (9p maybe?)...all the rest are open to all ages.
Eta: Forgot Trader Sam's, think it goes 21+ at 8p

Can we get one in the dump area of Mission: Space next? After riding Orange Team, the only thing that rights my head in the short term is a beer, so it would be nice to have this made more convenient.

Thanks!

My favorite ToT memory was the CM's reply to our son's "I'm really scared" comment, just before she slammed the elevator door shut:

"It's only going to get worse."

This is so perfect. My DD hates ToT, so I can wait at the bar with her (assuming it's a counter and not 21+) while DS and DH ride it. Then, we switch and I ride with DS and DH and DD can wait at the bar. Win-Win-Win.

Given how quickly this is going up, I really think it will be light on theme apart from drink names, but we'll see.

Oooh if it is a cocktail bar, do we think they go with Classic cocktail set to the 1930 era or will they have signature with clever names.

Was trying to think of some but failed miserable - example: "A Dark and Stormy Night and a Thirt-tini" - I know, I know and I am suitably ashamed
