Trading Families (I mean, not literally. Just for park pass purposes)

Could use some help here:
Our family has two groups of park reservations (Disney Studios) on the same day. One group (early birds) plans to get their early and shoot for Rise of Resistance boarding passes. The other group (night owls) does not.

One member registered with the "night owl" group wants to go with the "early bird" group instead. How do we transfer their park reservation from one group to the other? The reason this matters is so the one night owl can join the same boarding group as the other early birds (assuming they get a BG)

Not really sure why you need to do this? Each person's park reservation is linked to them. Whatever time they arrive they can enter the park as long as they have a park reservation. If you are all linked on Family and Friends you will be able to get BG for all. If you want to try for different BGs (one at 7:00 and the other at 1:00?) then this gets more tricky.

Are you saying the "night owls" have another park reservation for the morning and were going to park hop?

It's really about the boarding groups. The two groups aren't linked to each other, so if there's a way to do that easily, that would work (and the night owls just wouldn't be selected for the BG)

No sorry I should have clarified that it's about getting one of the night owls into the early birds' boarding group for Rise.

As soon as one member of your party gets access to join a boarding group, they select which members of their party need a boarding group. Not a problem at all, as long as everyone is linked in MDE.

Unfortunately this would not work. BGs fill in 2-3 seconds. The moment someone stops at all to adjust the people in the group, nobody would get a BG. Yes, they go that fast. The RotR - No Spoilers thread has a lot of helpful information.

Basically if all are in the same group of family and friends, get BGs for all.

No one needs to get to the park early to get a BG. Everyone who wants to ride can/should try at 7:00 from the hotel or wherever they happen to be. If they’re successful at 7, it doesn’t mean their BG will be called early; it may not be called until later in the day. If not successful at 7:00, they simply need to tap into DHS at some time before 1:00 so they can try again at 1:00.
The early birds can be the ones designated to try for a BG at 7:00. Just make sure that anyone who wants to ride RotR that day is linked to the early birds in MDE.
