Travel insurance and pre existing conditions

Hi does anybody have any experience with travel insurance covering pre-existing conditions? I had something pop up last fall that required us canceling our trip to Disney and postponing it to the spring. They're not 100% sure what's causing the issue. I thought maybe was a one and done thing but I had a situation last week that required a trip to the ER. Now I'm not sure what to do about our trip in May. Anybody travel with insurance that covers pre-existing conditions of unknown cause? The doctors have a pretty good idea of what is going on but the problem is my specialist is on sick leave herself until May. It's becoming really difficult to get any straight answers from my healthcare providers because what I have is so rare. Just an unfortunate reaction to a common blood pressure medication. Thanks

Not sure about if it’s”unknown cause” but I know Tugo does cover pre-existing conditions so it would be worth it to give them a call.

CAA lets you add a pre-existing clause type thing that allows for anything you've sought treatment for up to 7 days before travel, I think that's the best you'll find. It didn't add much to the bottom line and at our age it's worth it!

I think you get a 10% discount if you are but that says to me that anyone can purchase the insurance thru them!

I have an annual travel medical insurance plan with Tugo that covers pre-existing conditions with a 7 day prior to travel stability period. It is the shortest stability period for Canadian travel medical insurance that I have been able to find. Everyone else seems to be 60, 90, or even 180 days, which doesn't work for me.

With their policy if you are over a certain age the stability period is longer but you can add an optional coverage that gives you the 7 day stability period but the pre-existing conditions have a lower coverage amount.

I should also add, for our policy this year we also added travel interruption coverage to the policy for a reasonably small extra amount.
