Trying to plan a great birthday at Disney

Hello all,

So I am going to be in Florida this coming April and will be there on my birthday for the first time ever (I get that there are many who never get to do Disney on their birthday, I recognize I'm lucky getting to do so). Given that, I'm thinking of doing one of the two big parks and trying to weigh whether it's Disney I should choose for this. I know a lot has changed since I last went in March 2020, but would love tips or suggestions both to get the most out of it if I go to Disney and if you also have any tips that you are aware of for birthdays :). To note, I'm not a resort guest so I recognize there will be limitations but again any suggestions. If it also helps for thoughts on crowd sizes during this period, I'd be going April 28.

My plan was to go to Hollywood Studios first and do a rope drop (if that still exists) to then get on Rise of the Resistance semi-early since I likely won't get an ILL$ for it being off-resort. Then shuffle over to Smugglers Run, but as I was able to already book Savi's for a lightsaber build at 10:05 a.m. I'm wondering if anyone thinks this is possible? I'd then try out other options like MMRR or even use G+ to try out other rides.
Then was thinking of doing park hop to either Animal Kingdom for FoP or Epcot for Remy's as haven't gone on the latter.

As for other birthday stuff, I've heard things about cake, mentioning to characters, etc, but if you have any other suggestions, let me know :)

and thanks in advance for any suggestions.

You could buy an ILL for FOP and do that when you hop to AK. I love Epcot and France but we did Remy for the first time on Monday, and I was not too impressed. In my opinion, it doesn’t come close to FOP.

Have a great birthday!!

Are you planning on a few ADRs? For something extra special, a dessert party would be great. CRT has champagne as well (in addition to the lost slipper dessert (replaced the glass slipper for the 50th)). BOG is also special. We've done many birthdays at Ohana/Boma with special order cakes from the GF bakery, but the more recent cake was disappointing. Topolinos would be a great location with a view of Epcot fireworks if you book an 8 pm reservation. For something more relaxing you can book a boat ride from the contemporary.

I've actually never done ADRs I think, but I'm not opposed to it :) Thanks for the suggestions!

I would say hop to Epcot at 2:00 p.m. to do Remy (maybe buy an ILL for it) and then hop to AK and get in line for FoP right at closing. On my 40th, I did all 4 parks, but that was before the 2:00 park-hopping rule.

I've been curious about that cause they don't make it super clear on the Disney website in my opinion. Is park-hopping more than two parks possible? Like you can't go to the second until 2pm but are you able to do a third or even fourth (like say save MK for last since it's always open the latest)?

I have not done it personally, but everything I read states that it is allowed.

Since people were so kind in helping me try to plan my bday at Disney, just wanted to give a quick update.

It was fantastic. I don’t know if the stars just aligned or what, but got there at 7 and was at the front of the place you’re corralled just before turnstiles then was one of first to enter. Naturally despite showing ILL$ right up to 8 for Rise, soon as I tried they were gone. BUT I ran to the line and ended up with maybe an hour wait? So I was out before the 9:15 G+ LL I got for Smuggler’s. Then went over there and got to be the right pilot, meaning I got to do the “Punch it Chewie” light speed lever, and yes I shouted it the first time.

After that I got to do my Savi’s build. They actually were slightly low in stock for the hilt pieces for all but the Peace and Justice (so they had both the central on/off pieces, the bottom pieces and top pieces, they just didn’t have more than one option for the pieces above and below the on off switch). But that was fine no biggie. I went with Power and Control but also chose a Purple Crystal (only one to do so for the Crystal so was only one with a purple saber shining, though I think two others chose power for their parts).

After that, I also was able to get yellow and white crystals (they were sold out last time I was there so good to complete the collection minus the black Kyber). I then went to this Oscar’s place at front of park where I was able to leave my stuff in a virtual locker so I could get around more easily.

Followed this with Muppets 3D, Oga’s (finally tried the Blue Bantha, not totally my sort of taste but it wasn’t horrible, just didn’t drink it all if honest), and then was able to nab a Mickey and Minnie Railway G+ Pass.

Headed to Animal Kingdom after this and rode FOP as I was able to get an ILL$ for 3:45 while in line for Rise that morning. And ended off with Everest G+.

So pretty much got to do everything I wanted to. It was an amazing birthday :)
