Using Points at Marriott Vacation Club

Does anyone have experience using DVC points at Marriott Vacation Club locations or using Marriott points at DVC? I'm wondering how easy (or difficult) it might be to use the points in different programs and would love to hear about your experiences.

With the exception of EXCHANGING time thorugh either a third party (such as Interval International) or perhaps a Direct Exchange between timeshare owners ateach resort, the DVC points system and Marriotts points system are mutually exclusive.

We traded points to Marriott Newport Beach in CA. There are many Marriott trades on the list of II trades. It may be hard to do at some of them, but the Newport club is new and not nearly finished. It is a nice location and very beautiful.

With DVC, points are the vehicle with which the timeshare is utilized. With Marriott, points are more like our DC, CC or DCL. They are reward points (frequent flier miles) that you take instead of using your week. They cannot (with certain exceptions) be used to book another timeshare or exchange with DVC.
