Using points on Friday better than cash

It seems this is the one time it was better to use week-end points that paying cash. December 23 OKW studio is only 21 points. The cash rate (with member discount and taxes) is $315.00

You might want to watch for AP rates, just in case. Last year we got Dec. 23 for $169, so we stayed until the 27th, and the rate was $169 for each night.

i am new to the ap rates thing. they do offer them sometimes for dvc rooms? we are at ssr for seven nights but waiting so we dont use points for the friday and sat of our last weekend, but hoping ap rates come out. that would be great 169 so we dont have to move. was that a studio? i know nothing is guaranteed to be the same as last year, but here to hoping!!!

This is a great example of where the DVC seasons and the CRO seasons don't match up. For DVC, the holiday season does not start till December 24, so even as a Friday reservation December 23 is discounted quite a bit in terms of points off the holiday rate. December 23 for a cash reservation does fall in the holiday season and therefore you will have to pay top dollar.

In this case if you get an AP rate would that mean you'd have to book through CRO and then there's a chance you'd have to change rooms?
