Just wondering about the cute, not well known things you can do at the resorts...

Let me know if you have any ideas.

Thanks:)

First congrates on your new vows. I hope you have a long and "MAGICAL" marriage.
Okay My DH and I love to rent a pontoon boat for a couple of hours and go exploring the other resorts and DD. I usually pack a nice romantic lunch and we sit out in the bay and have a nice talk and eat lunch. It's nice to have a little time to ourselves but yet still feel as if your in the middle of everything!
We also just like to take a nice night walk and vieww the resort we are staying at!

Hi and congrats on your upcoming marriage!

At the monorail resorts you can rent mouse boats and cruise around seven seas lagoon and bay lake. You can also rent other kinds of boats from the marina at the Polynesian. If you're a daredevil, you can go parasailing or water skiing from the Contemporary. There are also fishing excursions, if that's your thing.

At Wilderness Lodge you can rent mouse boats and bicycles. At Fort Wilderness you can go horseback riding or canoeing.

At Coronado Springs resort you can rent surrey bikes or mouseboats. I think they have paddleboats too.

At Boardwalk you can rent Surrey bikes, get your faces painted (could be cute?) and buy yummy treats at the shops there. YC/BC you can rent mouseboats, too. (Those things are everywhere!)

At the GF you can have a portrait done of you and they have afternoon tea at the Garden View lounge. Check out the menu on www.wdwig.com. There is also a spa at the GF and they offer couples massages. Very romantic.

The Polynesian has the Luau which is a dinner show held twice nightly on certain nights. They also do a torchlighting ceremony and a lady bug release (I think...).

I think you can rent bikes at Caribbean Beach and Port Orleans. You can go cane pole fishing at Port Orleans.

From any deluxe resort you can book a fireworks cruise. Fantasy in the Sky cruises leave from GF, Contemporary, Polynesian and WL. Illuminations cruises leave from YC/BC and Boardwalk.

That's about all I can think of right now. If anything else comes to mind, I will post.

It's well known, but I love renting surrey bikes at the BoardWalk. I also love getting on the monorail at one of the monorail resorts and ask to ride up front with the driver on that resort's monorail (sometimes it will take a few minutes until that resort's dedicated monorail comes around and the front is empty, so I try to do it at not busy times and be patient), then I ride around the entire loop just for fun. I love buying the Mickey rice krispy treats with chocolate dipped ears at the Grand Floridian's snack shop. I also love browsing at the Contemporary and Animal Kingdom Lodge's shops.

Thanks everyone...They sound like great ideas.

Now to fill in the holes, are there any free tours and such that we could also do?

Congratulations!
I don't know about any free tours.
We think it's nice to spend a couple of hours in the Belle Vue Room at the Boardwalk. It's a nice quiet lounge, you can sit inside or outside on the balcony. They have board games there and we usually play a game of Scrabble.
I especially enjoy this on a cold night, drinking a nice fancy coffee drink with whipped cream on top!
;)

At Fort Wilderness, you can have fun at the campfire or use the pools 24/7. They also have a nice petting zoo or join in on a hayride. You can also catch a boat there and just sit back and enjoy the Lagoon, At night you can catch the Electrical Parade.

When we have stayed at POR we always get a room as FAR from the main bldg as possible. We love to walk and explore the flora and fauna. POR is a large resort with fishing, duck feeding and the most beautiful landscaping to enjoy. On our last visit we stayed in POFQ which is a much smaller resort. We still get a room as far away as possible and enjoy walking, the landscaping, and the architecture.

There is a daily tour of the WL that is available check with the FD for times. But they talk about the resort and have a hidden mickey hunt.

At CBR you can rent a boat or a Watermouse. They also have nice mini-beaches with hammocks to crash out. There is also a nice walking path with a mini-discovery island. I believe you will also find volleyball nets around the resort.

At AKL there's an afternoon tour of the lobby for free. I think it's meant to attract guests from that resort, but they don't ask you what resort you're from, and when I went on it, even though the AKL was pretty packed when I was there, there were only about 6 of us on the tour. Just be prepared-it's ONLY the lobby. And there used to be tours at the GF-don't know if they still have them. I remember Samantha Brown talked about a ladybug release. I'd love to know if they still do that.

Can you rent water mice, say from the Wilderness Lodge, if you are not staying at a Disney resort? I know they ask for a room key to hold - what if you are not a Disney guest?
Thanks!
