What is DVC??

DVC is the Disney Vacation Club. Technically it's a Disney owned and run timeshare, but it's more like pre-paid accommodations.
There are five DVC Resorts at WDW plus two beach resorts, but your membership will allow you to stay at most Disney hotels, including Disneyland hotels. With that said, it is more cost effective to stay at the DVC resorts.

The DVC resorts offer studio, one and two bedroom villas, and some three bedroom grand villas.

There are some other fringe benefits to the membership also.

There are a couple forums specifically for DVC here on the DISboards that can answer all your questions. :smokin:

To get a membership, we went on a tour while we were at DL. We went to one of the DVC kiosks, set up an appt to meet with a vacation guide. They gave us all the info and answered all our questions. There was no pressure to buy at all. When we bought there were no demo rooms, but I hear they have those up and you can take a tour to see what the rooms look like.

You can also go to http://dvc.disney.go.com/dvc/index to get some more info and order a DVD that gives you info on it. I am sure there are phone numbers there also to call and talk to someone.

How do you get a membership?
You can call DVC and purchase it, or you can buy it resale from The Timeshare Store, a sponsor of DISboards.

Just to give anyone reading this some in initial info-
This is not a club that costs $50/year. If purchasing through Disney, MINIMUM buy in is roughly $15,000 plus $600 annual fees.
If youi visit WDW often, it can be a real money saver. Until (hopefully) Disney builds a DVC resort at DLR, it may not be cost effective to use solely at DLR. :smokin:
