*** Yay May! OFFICIAL MAY 2020 THREAD!!! Flowers are starting to bloom! ***

Does anyone else feel concerned they might have to cancel? I'm trying not to feel panicked.

Yep, cancelled today for the mid-end of April - not worth the anxiety for us. A large Disney gathering is one of the last places we want to mingle right now. A little disappointing, yes, but we can always go another time. We aren't panicked, just playing as safe as possible. We were driving, so no money losses for us.

Why don't I just go ahead and make this official. ;)

Welcome May 2020 Adventurers!!! :flower1: :rose::flower::butterfly:daisy:

So I'm Farro (Drea) and that's Micky with me in my avatar and we are headed back to Disney in May 2020! I did the official October thread for our trip in 2017 and it was such a fun way to pass the time! I know these threads don't get the action they used to, but I love them anyways! :p

Please feel free to use this thread anyway you see fit! Talk, plan, gossip, laugh, cry (don't cry) and have fun! If you can think of anything else that would be useful in the first post, feel free to let me know and I can add it.

Flower and Garden Festival!!!

March 1 - June 1 2020
New for this year will be Remy topiary featured in the NEW Ratatouille Garden at the France Pavilion. According to Disney, “this delicious new garden will be planted with veggies used in a ratatouille recipe.”

I think this website is great for festival planning: http://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2019/...cot-international-flower-and-garden-festival/

Here are some great planning threads from these very boards! These contain TONS of useful information:

From the Disney Rumors and News Board, rteetz has a great thread (among many) about all the construction projects currently happening right now at the World - completions, expected completion and lots of commentary from other posters

These next two are from the Theme Parks Attractions and Strategies Board.
Robo's thread on everything you ever wanted to know about tickets. Lot's of great questions/answers.

And mesaboy2's thread discussing everything fastpass +! Again, great information and you can ask questions! https://www.disboards.com/threads/fastpass-frequently-asked-questions.3491680/

Sorry to hear. Hopefully the spread of this slows and you can make plans to go soon!

Yes, they usually do open up reservations leading up to the opening. How far in advance has varied and I don't have any specifics on that. Maybe someone else has more data.

I am using the reservation tool through Touring Plans, which hopefully might catch reservations if I somehow miss them!
What is the reservation tool?

What is the reservation tool?

https://touringplans.com/walt-disney-world/reservation-finder
Touring Plans allows you to set up searches for availability at different restaurants according to your party size and timeframe. Not specific times, but for Breakfast, Lunch, etc. Their bot will automatically search available ADRs several times a day according to the criteria you set and then when it gets a hit, it will notify you so you can then book the ADR. You have to be quick though because for the more popular places these get openings get snapped up very quickly. If you have a US or Canadian mobile number, I highly suggest using the text alert option because it’s way faster than the email notifications. It will text you the direct link to book.

You can run a total of two searches at a time, and you don’t need to pay for a subscription to use this service. I’ve gotten all kinds of difficult ADRs using it.

Does anyone else feel concerned they might have to cancel? I'm trying not to feel panicked.

As others said, unless the airline or WDW forces me to cancel...we are going as planned.

Got all our FPs booked yesterday....even MMRR. Looked at my flights on SW and they dropped $129. Using that credit when I book our Sept flights on Thursday!

Short of Disney closing the parks, we're still planning to go; we're even willing to drive if need be.

Still, our trip appears to have already been affected. The airline consolidated all their morning flights today, and our arrival was pushed back 2 1/2 hours, completely screwing up our plans to wander Disney Springs and have lunch. Not a major thing, but still frustrating after all the careful planning, especially since we now will have to spend some of our planned resort downtime for Disney Springs instead. >:(

What airline are you flying? So far SW hasn't changed any flight times....just prices.

United; we're 15 min. from a major airport, and SW doesn't fly out of there, so we'd have to drive over an hour to a smaller airport to fly SW.

United has consolidated all of their flights for our arrival day, and they're down to only 5 non-stop flights from here to Orlando for the whole day (I didn't look at flights with stops). Our early flight that got in before 10 am got rolled in with other early flights to one with a larger plane that doesn't land until well after noon.

Our group is down from 7 to 5 :( My in laws cancelled today. They are in their 70's and my DMiL has had some medical issues the last couple of years. They contacted her doctor who said she should not go anywhere next few months. Her issues are such that even before this virus her doctor did not want her to travel anywhere outside the continental US (her specialist is in MA) so we were already thinking they might cancel. It stinks since DD has not had all of her grandparents in the same place at the same time in 11 years!

I have to call Cirque and see if we can get a refund for their 2 tickets. One of our ADRs got cancelled because it was made on their account - thankfully not a hard to get one. Their hotel info "fell off" my plans on my MDE but their FP's are still there. And I will tweak some plans made with them in mind (early dinner times etc).

We are not cancelling unless Disney closes but DH, DD and I are in pretty good health. My mom and DsD are in their 60's and while they have some issues they are not planning on cancelling either unless their doctors say otherwise - or they quarantine the whole island (they are in PR).

If we HAVE to cancel then I don't know for when we would rebook. Our SW credit would expire in Sept but we cannot take vacation until Nov, plus we already have a Hawaii trip booked for next May. Worse comes to worst we might do a long weekend at DLR in Aug for DD's bday.

Hello! DH and I are going 5/13-5/16 to BWI!!!
FP day is Saturday and I’m so nervous that I won’t get the times I want - AK is our first day since we need to go to HS the next 2 mornings to try for BG. We arrive very early (before 7am at MCO) and leave late on Saturday (DME picks us up at 5:30pm). So hoping I can get FOP on first and last days and do HS the other mornings with the hopes of afternoon/evening 4th FP for Epcot. Unless I’m just dying for BoG breakfast we will prolly skip MK all together. :(

With all of the posts about flight prices going down, I looked again last night. We were going to be going out of Nashville, which is about 3 hours away. Found flights out of Louisville for only a few dollars more-that eliminates our night before hotel in Nashville and the drive! So while the airfare is technically more, we are saving the hotel and gas money. Not having to drive the 3 hours after the trip is a bonus too!

The good news for you is, at 60 days out, FOP does have some evening availability and that's on a Sunday. I'm sure as long as you're able to get on immediately on your FP day, you should see some availability.

You can check this site out for each parks availability.

I did mine today. I think we all experience that nervous anticipation. I know I do and I’ve been doing it every year for a while now. you probably already know but at 7 immediately go after FOP at AK if that is a ride you want to go on, then right after go book your tier 1’s for each day at HS then fill in the other stuff after. And if you dont immediately get the time you want, grab the first time you can and modify, modify, modify.
i modified for a couple of hours this morning and basically got what i wanted, except for a tier 1 on my 60+1 at HS since the first available times were at 5 pm and we have MK AH that night and hitting the Cali Grill lounge at 5. But we are lucky enough to have 4 days to spend in each park except Epcot so we will get to ride plenty.
And I am not done modifying either, i will stalk things for the next 2 months to try to move times up for 2 rides in particular.
