ok so let me see if I understand this (which i dont think I do)
AAA has a better rate for POFQ
but will I be able to add dining plan? and if I add dining plan do I have to buy MYW tix or can i still buy them thru ticketmania?
Oh and if a code comes out will that help my AAA discount--assuming you can only use one right?
Thanks for the help

To get the dining plan with a AAA discount, you have to purchase a package through a AAA travel agent. This would have to include at a minimum a one-day base ticket for each member of your party.

Do you have experience with this? I'm asking because I just spoke with a local AAA agent today wanting to do this very thing...purchase a package with one day base tickets (because we already have tickets) and dining. She told me I must purchase length of stay tickets to get the AAA package. Was she wrong? :confused3 TIA

Yes, she was wrong, or at the very least misinformed. Call again and ask if they have a Disney specialist that can help you. If not, you can call ANY AAA travel office.

The dining plan must be purchased for each night of your hotel stay, but you must only have at the minimum, a one day ticket added to make it a package. If they tell you different, inform them they are wrong and that their College of Disney Knowledge Diploma will be confiscated. :rotfl2:

I am positive this is incorrect. We just booked thru an AAA TA. CBR waterview for 6 nights, 1 day park tix and Dining Plan for a grand total of $1412. Call another AAA TA...

Thanks for the replies everyone! That is why I was hesitant to call AAA in the first place. I haven't made any travel arrangements through them in years...now I remember why. :teeth:

Just booked thru aaa at CSR for 7 nights in August. We booked 2 rooms with I day tickets plus dining plan for 4 adults a 12 year old and a 2 yr old.
AAA price 3940.50, Disney price 4303.66. I had originally reserved a 2BR at the Boardwalk but this is only 150 more and includes all our food. now I just have to pick my restaurants :cool1:

There is a negative about booking with AAA (or any package deal I guess)
That is the cancellation time...with a room only you can cancel up to 48 hours I believe...but with a package you don't get that time frame and you have to pay to cancel.

While talking to my AAA agent he mentioned this and he did a package deal versus room only and it came to almost the same price.

I want to luxury of last minute cancellation. You never know what might happen. So I think I will stick with my 20% AAA discount until I get that great post card in the mail! :)

I just switched my reservation to AAA. I saved 435.00 on two rooms. We got 8 nights at POFQ, MYW with park hopper and dining. We are 4 adults and 1 child.

can someone recommend a AAA person to deal with
please pm me info if possible
I have been working with someone else (non AAA) and would like to book with them but want to check all my options first and I have a feeling AAA would be cheaper--

I don't know if you have to work with someone in your area or not. I know i called an 800 # abd they connected me to someone in my area. If you want the name and number just let me know. They didn't even ask for my number when I called for a quote.

That doesnt make sense. And with the cancellation policy...that is Disney's cancellation policy that AAA must adhere to. But the thing with your prices being almost the same, might be poxxible if you dont get dining but...you might want to recheck that.

You are correct. You only need to buy a one day base ticket to be able to take the dining plan...

Can I ask a question.... What is the advantage of buying a one day base ticket? Are you getting tickets for the remainder of your time elsewhere?

In my case, two of our party have left over MYW tickets so we don't really need tickets. So, I would be able to upgrade the one day tickets to 5 days for those who needed them, without having to purchase full tickets for all of us.

So you guys are getting the AAA room discount on the MYW packages?
