This may be the ultimate reason that Casey and Gwen are meant to be friends! This could be a title for Gwen!
Casey normally eats about every 2.5 minutes so its not normally an issue, but she'd refused to eat her breakfast bar this morning and it hit her fast. Though god help us if we ever get hangry Casey and Gwen together!
Ha! I have seen that face on Gwen as well. Just wait till our last day of my trip!
Yikes! I'm not sure I'm ready for that.
The lips are what get me! Makes her look so old.
I know right??? It's amazing what a little bright red lipstick can do for a girl
She was beyond excited. She gets upset if she doesn't get picked, so thankfully she did this time!! This is a child who loves to be the center of attention, in only the best way of course
I need to order some of those balls on
amazon!
1. Your comment looks totally out of place without the context
and 2. You should, though they are expensive. I think we paid like $20 for them last year. Of course we also only used them once. I'm gonna have my nieces with us here this weekend so I'll have to remember to pull them out. Thanks for the reminder. With a 4, 6, and 7 year old I'm gonna need all the help I can get
The first time we came, the steak came with yuca fries. I def perferred that version.
Yum! That does sound good. Wonder why they don't offer the yuca elsewhere on the menu
Hmmm, there seems to be a theme going on...
Yes, everything bathroom related is an ongoing theme in our house. I normally blame Casey or Jason, but clearly they are rubbing off on me.
Love your pirate speak, it's cracking me up! And a Dole Whip is the perfect way to cheer someone up. I've never tried it with the cake before, but that looks really good and I think I'll need to add it to my list.
Aarrrgh, thank ye matey!
I was about to ask about bringing food on the ride, I didn't know you could. Then continued reading and saw that you snuck it on. It is the perfect ride to eat a snack on though.
We usually stash it in our backpack and then get it out when we are on the ride. Casey always thought that eating it was ok, but she caught us putting it in the backpack this time and put 2 and 2 together. She's such a rule follower that she wouldn't eat it. Her teacher last year called her the kindergarten cop. I have no idea how she came from me some days
I've never met a rule I couldn't figure my way around.
That's too bad that the server didn't want to play along with the theme. I feel like it's kind of their job
Its odd beyond the hostesses I think we've really only had 1 server that embraced it. Oh well. Food's great!
I love shrimp, but there's no way I'd be able to eat these when their little eyes were looking at me. And for $25 you only get 4? That's crazy!
Yeah, the price was crazy. Of course we didn't know we were only getting 4. Oddly eye balls staring at me before I eat it don't bother me. I think I'm definitely the odd one
Who is this girl?? I don't recognize her without a smile on her face
I know right???? It's a rare occurrence that she is like this. She's normally pretty happy go lucky, but hunger and tiredness in Disney usually sneaks up on her at least once a trip.
Beautiful! And I love her shirt
Thanks Kelly!
Great! Good for her for not being shy!
Not a shy bone in this kids body!!!! She sold Girl Scout cookies at their booth for 3 hours on Saturday and she was all over it. She was the best little sales daisy out there!
Would it help if they are off the menu, cause they are. But they still do have the fried whole fish for you
That face is exactly how I feel this morning!
It's exactly how I feel every morning.
Ahh...much better! And such a beautiful face paint!
Much better for everyone!
Yay! I was Mme Wardrobe when we went a few years ago (pre-kid).
That's awesome. Thankfully I've never been selected, but my 2 little hams get up there pretty often
Me. I don't. I like my food head-less and face-less. This is why Skipper's and Tiffins are low on my list. I'm just not that adventurous.
Ah come on. Bring on the heads, and faces, and eyes, and tentacles
So funny about eating popcorn out of Pluto's butt, because that's EXACTLY what Joe and I taught Gia to say when she wanted more popcorn. Aren't we the BEST auntie and uncle?!?! Awesome influences!!!
Yes you are the best auntie and uncle. You can feel free to adopt Casey and I. We can influence each other and eat from Pluto's butt together!
We LOVED Skipper Canteen's. We ate there for the first time in November, and we plan on going back...But, I think you already knew that...
I did know that, but glad to hear you are going back.
Okay, along with the octopus suction cup thingies, you just reinforced why I won't eat head on shrimp! Geeze, eyeballs staring back at you, nope!
Edited to add, I thought you made a typo with $25 for FOUR head on shrimp, so I checked Allears. Wowzer! That's nuts! Those had better be some pretty dang good shrimp! Maybe you pay extra for the added bonus of the eyeballs!
What if the head on shrimp, somehow had tentacles too? Now that would really set you off
Yeah, the price was pretty ridiculous now that I think about it. We were so hungry I don't think we would have cared if they only brought us shimp heads and nothing else. We would have devoured it all!
haha, my child is a morning person typically and wakes me up on a daily basis (EVEN SUNDAY) but on vacation I got to wake his little butt up and we had some hangry mornings and "only on vacation appropriate" morning snacks as well. I loved my meal at skippers but the kiddo did not care for it, he just had mac and cheese but it was cold and congealed and he was "not impressed" (he kills me the way he talks sometimes).
Yikes! I don't think I could take kiddo wake-up calls. We're spoiled that Casey's school doesn't start until late, so she typically doesn't wake up until after 8. Though I'm out the door by 7
Casey had the mac and cheese there one too and didn't like it. We just stick to the apps for the most part and we're all usually happy.
we're in the middle of getting pounded with snow and wind so now i'm going to catch up to keep my mind off of it (severe weather anxiety :-/ )
Hope you are staying warm! The last 3 east coast storms all seem to have missed DC somehow so we got nothing here. Though I could totally use a snow day!
We did WCC too for dinner, it's crazy how often they change the presentation of things. More on that later.
Hmmm, you got me curious on that one.
Kiddo loved Sanaa and I am actually thinking of doing something special with him there and dining with the animal specialist. That meal comes with the bread service and also kid meal options, I think he might really like that. But I am still on the fence.
That sounds like something great to do with him. If he loves the food and animals, that sounds like a great special thing to do.
CA Grill brunch is something I really should have done when I was on the deluxe
DDP back in the day when the kid was a disney kid. Alas it will cost us a fortune to do it now and I can't eat much so I'm not sure it's worth it but man I really want to try it anyway. Maybe once the kiddo can sit for a longer meal, I can graze in a taste of everything in a couple of hours, lol. How sweet and magical that someone treated you to your meal!
I'm sure we'll do it again, but it will be far in the future for everything you just said (though I'll have to remember to do it before Casey turns 10). Probably when he is a teenager and there is not enough food in the world for him, you can enjoy a nice long leisurely meal.
Loved your review of the nomad lounge. My child has been watching DFB reviews on youtube and they review "the lounges" and he has decided "mom, we need to try out some of these lounges!" Territory lounge and Nomad lounge are on his list and the poutine and wings both seem like things we can share and enjoy. Is it really easy to just get there and sit down?
Love him wanting to try the lounges! So sophisticated!
One of these days I will do food and wine. I had the kid convinced to try some food booths at F&G but then changed the plans on him to go back to MK for HEA again, I fell in love. But next trip is during festival of arts so maybe he will be willing to give some of that a try. I should check out pics and reviews and start working on him now.
Definitely start looking now. We were not impressed by the Arts festival, but most of that was on us as we were ill prepared and missed most of the food.
Love the New York pictures. I’ve been three times but would love to go again. Possibly I’ll consider a trip once the Frozen musical is out.
Thanks. Casey is already asking if we can go again next year. Frozen actually opened while we were there, but tickets were astronomical so we skipped out.
Skippers Canteen looks intriguing. I noticed the Belgian White beer. I’m really not a beer drinker - the old black rum’s got a hold on me- but I did discover a while back that if I’m in a pub setting and it seems proper to drink beer, I’ll see if they have a white beer on tap.
Funny, I didn't even know it was a belgian white beer. It was just a beer. In magic kingdom. And this girl could not say no.
love the look of Skipper's Canteen and Yup we totally have the same parenting style (bribery and sugar in equal measure)
We gotta keep ourselves sane somehow, right
My youngest son has been known to tell his teacher that the BEST thing about holidaying in florida is 'buns for breakfast'
Buns = chocolate mini muffins
Then again his mum frequently has mimosas for breakfast so
Does he also tell his teachers that buns are craic. See how I worked that in there
Well, I told myself we would try LTT for our next TS meal in MK, but that noodle salad makes me just want to go back to Skipper Canteen. It would be a no-brainer were it not for the lure of the ooey gooey. Speaking of LTT, have you tried the crab, artichoke, and spinach dip there?
They do share a kitchen, maybe they could give you an ooey gooey hook up
No, I haven't tried the dip there and I don't know why. I'm a sucker for a dip and love all things crab and artichoke and spinach, yet never pulled the trigger for some reason
