Oh yes we had our treat. Eileen asked if we had a chance to meet Captain Jack other than when Joshua got chosen for the Pirate Tutorial? We had not so she asked that we follow her The clouds were getting darker and inside I was praying that we wouldn’t get rained out for our viewing of the fireworks from the Astro Orbiter deck. I was SO looking forward to that.

Also remember that we had a 4:00 ADR for the CP and it was getting close to 3:00 at this time. I didn’t say anything to Eileen because we were having a blast but I was a little worried that if we missed it, we’d be eating CS and we were already not going to be using all of our TS for the trip. M and I had a little side discussion and decided that this was WAY better than the CP so we’d wing it and maybe we’d make it.

At this point I had forgotten ALL about going to Guest Services and having them check us in for our return flight home with SW. Not checking in asap with SW can be a bad thing.

We made our way to the Captain Jack meet and greet. The building was cool and it felt good. Today was by far one of the hottest and muggiest days of the trip. We chatted while we waited and looked at the neat displays. The kids had a blast trying to tie the knots. Finally it was our turn to meet Captain Jack And what a meet it was! He and Gabby verbally sparred and it was the first time we saw her flirt, yes flirt This was a little of their conversation:

CJ: So, you think you are a princess?
Gab: I know I am a princess!
CJ: Hmm, well I think you are a spicy little monkey and not a princess at all.


At one point she asked him to sign her book and he said “no”, rolled his eyes, and threw her pen across the room We were in tears from laughing so hard. It was the best character interaction we have ever had. We must have stayed with him a good 10 minutes. He called Joshua “spiky” due to his hair and asked if he wanted to be part of his crew. SO cool! He liked Chloe too and asked how she puts up with her horrible sister? LMAO!

Here is the photo that titled this trippie. This photo is beyond priceless to me. Gab was in pure shock and immediately wiped the kiss off. It was one of the best moments of the trip:

We bid farewell to Captain Jack and then Eileen asked how were on time. We said great and on we went. She said she had one more thing she’d like to share with us, Storybook Time with Belle. She remembered that Belle was Gab’s favorite. We arrived just in time for it to start and grabbed a seat. Guess what? Gab and Chloe got picked to be in the show They tried to get Joshua too but he declined. He is more humble than his camera hog sisters. It was such a cute little show and just magical that they got to be in it. When they were choosing I saw Belle glance at Eileen and Eileen then point to our children. The CMs are all in it together.

After Belle, Eileen said it was time for her to go. It was now closer to 4:30 than 4:00 and we missed out CP ADR. Eileen told us to meet her at the bottom of the Astro Orbiter by 8:30 pm and she’s be there waiting for us. We gave big hugs and said our goodbyes. It had been a wonderful, magical afternoon Just as we started to walk away Eileen came running back up and gave us 10 front of the line passes for any ride of our choosing. She said she took up so much of our time that she didn’t want us to have to wait to hit a couple of our favorite rides; can you imagine? Her apologizing after all she did with us? Crazy! We assured her that we had a magnificent time! In fact it was unreal.

Up next, what did we do for dinner? Did we beg and plead for the CP to let us in, did we eat CS, or did we scrap both ideas and do something else? Did we get to view the fireworks from the Astro deck?

It was truly amazing for so many reasons. The Dreams were just gravy for an already magical trip. I know it sounds hokey but being there with family and friends was awesome!

When she apologized I hoped we hadn't seemed ungrateful or anything. I can't imagine that we did but ya never know. I was worried but then when we met later that night, she knew how grateful we were!

If you really wanted that dinner at CP I hope you went and asked if there was anyway possible they could get you in. WHen we had lunch there they got us in over an hour early and then we were 40 min late at 50's PT for a 3:45 ADR and they worked us on in pretty quick even though they had an hour stand by line. So I hope you went for it although with your luck a CM probably came by and granted you a dream dinner somewhere so those TS credits still didn't get used!!!!

So can you now officially meet with Capn' Jack or is it something only for Disney's Chosen people? I so hope you got to CP, we went this year for my birthday dinner and really enjoyed it.

It's in the vault! I am trying to post an update today but I am super busy at work. I got to change offices and now have the best seat in the house. I am on the 4th floor and looking right at the beautiful snow covered Wasatch mountains.

Okee dokee, we had just left Eileen and were chatting about our good fortune when it hit me that I forgot to check into SW We headed to guest services and while there we asked if there were any TS that we could get into. The CM checked us into to SW, printed off our A section boarding passes, and check for any dinner openings. There was nothing available. She suggested we just try and walk up. We all agreed that we wanted to be waited on and not do a buffet. Tony’s was across Main St so I thought I would see if they’d take us. There was a CM standing outside telling everyone walking in that they only had patio seating for parties of 4 or less. We were a party of 5 and with the sun blazing on the patio it didn’t sound appealing or possible. I told Michael I was going to check with the hostess anyway.


What do you think happened?



While I was asking, Michael took the kids to the camera store to get more batteries for the camera. If we were going to make the fireworks, I wanted a ton of photos. While in the camera store Joshua’s flip flop broke so M took them to the Emporium to buy him some shoes. He got the cutest Mickey Crocs. Mr. $25 only got the girls each a stuffed animal as well. $25 only my pixiedust spouting behind! The girls also picked out a Lady plush for Eileen. They wanted to give her something for all she had done.



They met me back in front of Tony’s.




Think we got in?



While they were in the store, this is what transpired: I went to the podium and explained to the hostess that we were hot, hungry, and desperate. I explained all about our 3+ hour Dream and that we missed our CP ADR. She said, loud enough for another CM to hear: “oh you are late for your ADR, that’s okay we’ll put you back on the list” Twenty minutes later we were seated at a fabulous table right by the Lady fountain in the middle of Tony’s !!!!! I was so grateful. I added her name to my list of CM compliments that would be going to WDW Guest Communications. And yes, I did write the email and they responded.

The food and service were terrific and all 3 kids fell asleep at the table before the food arrived. They were beat and this was a much needed break. This is what we ordered:

Apps:

Calamari - tossed with olive relish and drizzled with caper aioli. I am not a calamari fan but this was excellent!

Mixed Greens - salad mix tossed in house dressing with Feta cheese and croutons

Soup of the Day

Entrees:

Spaghetti with choice of meatballs or sweet Italian sausage in Tony's own tomato sauce. Gab and I shared this. I swear the meatballs were as big as a newborn’s head!

NY Strip Steak with roasted potatoes, mushrooms, caramelized onions, and spinach tossed in a warm pancetta vinaigrette, topped with red wine gorgonzola butter. Michael said it was very good and cooked perfectly.

The little kids both ordered pasta with Alfredo sauce.

Dessert:

Tiramisu - espresso soaked lady fingers, whipped mascarpone and dark chocolate shavings

Assorted Gelato - seasonal flavors of Italian style ice cream

We were so full that we ordered only two desserts. I was stuffed to the gills at this point. This was the only restaurant, that when we asked if we could share, that we were given any flack. Our server said “it is frowned upon”. She was still sweet and attentive and we still shared.

After Tony’s we were fat and lazy. We had a little over 2 hours before we were to meet Eileen. The skies had cleared and it looked like the fireworks would be a go!!!! Now here is what I don’t like about WDW and why we really need to stay at a hotel that’s on the Monorail line. At Disneyland, if we had 2+ hours before we had to meet, we could easily walk back to our hotel, The Paradise Pier, and rest for a while. At WDW it would have taken us half that time to get to the room. We all really needed a break but if we would have left we would have missed the last part of our Dream. So instead, we rode the train. Joshua fell asleep and it was the perfect break. We got off near Splash and they rode while I stayed with Joshua while he slept. We got back on and departed on Main St. It was about 7:30 or so. Spectro was due to begin at 8:00. Could we watch Spectro and still make it to the Astro Orbiter by 8:30?
