LURKYLOO's Wedding Trippie: Morocco/Attic/Lower UK: Wedding Album + Gown Preservation

that volleyball/sun guy is in one of our wedding pictures, mark calls him "spikey man" :lmao:

Spikey Man.... cute as the sun, deadly as a volleyball...

yeah!! what ever happened to that girl????

Sorry I brought her up - I didn't mean to rescusitate that thread and get everyone's hopes up that she'd returned to finish her story!

Living vicariously through your wandering and eating:thumbsup2

Me too! :rotfl:

Sounds like Day 3 was fun Carrie! I'm sorry to hear about your photo shoot though, that really stinks! Hopefully they will fix it for you.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed - they say the corrected proofs have been shipped to me...

OSure-I don't have my scanner hooked up, but I will see if my brother can do it-since they have the pic too!

:hyper:

Cant wait to read more about your honeymoon

:goodvibes

sounds like a lovely day

you bet! :thumbsup2

Carrie, I can't remember, which resort did you guys stay at? You had a wonderful view of Wishes from your balcony! Is that from a standard room?

That was the view from our balcony at the Beach Club Villas - we stayed in a studio that was on the end right around the corner from the elevator on the 5th floor, so it was both convenient and secluded. We later moved to the Contemporary, Animal Kingdom Villas and the Grand, but BCV was my favorite!

OK, sorry to crash your thread with this question, but I'm kinda new here (here since Jan '08)--who's the girl, and what's the story?

If it's inappropriate, or you don't wanna post it in your thread, would you mind PM'ing me? It'll give me some comedy on this extremely cloudy and rainy day.

For your book that your guests signed, did you do an iBook? I love the idea; I may steal it!!:thumbsup2

We don't know too much about her - she was on the DIS a bit during her planning and had some horrible problems with scheduling her reception at a dessert party location in Epcot (this part is in that thread I linked to). When she came back from the wedding she posted that thread and then disappearerd, but I can't say I blame her. For one thing, if she did reach some sort of settlement with Disney, she probably can't talk about it anymore. And if that's not the case, she may just not want to talk about it - I know that sometimes venting my problems here gets me even more worked up about them. Plus, it's a public forum and people have objected to a lot of the dirt dished here... But that's all just conjecture on my part! :thumbsup2

As for the guest book, I designed it on Blurb.com, and, after hassling with MyPublisher's bookmaking software this week, I can wholeheartedly recommend Blurb. There are tons of different styles and layouts and the prices are cheap cheap cheap: For a large-format book. Blurb gives you up to 40 pages for $55, and then it's $10 more for each additional increment of 40 pages.

MyPublisher wants $60 for a 20-page book and charges $3 EACH for additional pages. Plus the book jacket is an extra $9. Considering that MyPublisher's Mac software only contains 4 different (nearly identical) styles and about 6 different page layouts, I will be making all my wedding books in Blurb...

Here's a link to a post with pix of our guest book:

So, your plan is to use Blurb again for all your wedding pictures bound in a book? Your engagement pics are so beautiful done that way. :lovestruc Are you going to order a set for each of your parents too? Did Rootography do any pics or did you just buy the digital rights in a CD? I really love this idea :goodvibes

i'm so glad you posted this...i thought i was doing something wrong, blurb is SO MUCH EASIER AND CHEAPER. i got a free book coupon from mypublisher, but it's still not worth it...

Exactly!

Originally I was going to do MyPublisher books for my dad and DH's parents and then do a big honkin' Blurb book for us, but now that I know the prices, I can do a big honkin' Blurb book for everyone!

The CDs of all our pix were included in our Rootography package. We haven't ordered any prints from them yet, but we did order engagement photo prints, and they are very nice. The quality is far superior to the Shutterfly and Snapfish prints we made.

I'm also considering doing a flush mount album like Caryn was thinking of doing, because - rather than a 4-color-press printed Blurb book - it is like having real photographs bound in a book. However I may run out of steam/enthusiasm/money after a few months and just stick with my Blurb book... :rotfl:

You too? I actually posted on MyPublisher's message boards a thread entitled "Am I Doing Something Wrong?" :lmao:

So are you going to have a flush mount album made? I was interested in the site you posted and may use them if I go that route too....

jaclyn sent me a really cheap site for the renn albums,

http://tyndellphotographic.com/renLIB80SQalbum.html

there are about a million different types of albums and mattes on there. i'm going to call them today to ask questions about what i need to order.

i plan on doing one of those and a HUGE blurb book for us, and smaller books for our parents and my sisters!

was the quality of your prints significantly different from the roots than it was from shutterfly/snapfish? i was going to order a 16x20 from them because randy charges a lot for his prints...

If you get a matte-finish print from Shutterfly/Snapfish it looks better than the glossy, but it still looks like you got it at the drugstore.

The Roots recommend www.mpix.com for printing their photos - it's a site used by pro photographers for prints, books, etc. but the print prices are cheaper than the prices I've seen on most photogs' websites (like 19-29 cents for a 4x6!). I think I'll be making my prints through Mpix... I'll keep you posted on the quality. :thumbsup2

OK, I'm still working on the next installment of the honeymoon trippie, but I thought you might get a kick out of the Best Man's wedding toast, which he delivered during our reception in the style of a Jungle Cruise skipper. He even talked through his hand to replicate the tinny microphone sound! (The Best Man is DH's twin, just to set that up for you...)

"Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Patrick and Carrie's wedding reception, presented by Dole. I'm Sean, and I'll be your best man for the afternoon. Before we get started with the wedding toast, I want to remind you to store your loose articles under your seat. Once they are safely stowed, pull down on your lap bar. Do me a favor and tug on the yellow tag to make sure the lap bar is secure. During the duration of the speech, please remain seated, and keep your hands and arms inside the vehicle at all times — and please watch your children. Off we go — Driver, you're all clear.

Good afternoon, and let’s gets started on our magical wedding adventure. I just want to tell you a little about the couple we are here to celebrate. On the driver’s left is our groom, Patrick. Little known fact, Patrick is twin. When he is fully grown, he can be up to 25 feet tall and weigh up to 5,000 pounds. To the driver’s right is Carrie. Little known fact, she is not a twin. When she is fully grown, she can be up to 25 feet tall and weight up 5,000 pounds.

Patrick and Carrie met at his cousin's birthday party. In fact, hold on a minute—I think I see him now! Don't worry folks, you’re perfectly safe as long as he's not blowing bubbles and wiggling ears. Oh no! [bang, bang]

We hope you enjoyed your visit with us today. If you did, my name is Sean, if not, my name is Patrick. Now before we disembark, gather all your belongings, take small children by the hand, raise your glass, and join me in singing the traditional toast..."

[followed by singing of DH's family toast, a Swedish drinking song]

Sean sounds like a riot! That is the most hilarious toast I've ever heard! (and it is no surprise why you'd be friends with a guy like him, either.)

Suzanne

in your own words, "HIGH-larious!!!"

My sentiments exactly! I LOVE THAT! You guys are a ton of fun..oh wait, full grown you would be 4 tons of fun! :rotfl: :rotfl2: :lmao:

What a great time you must all have together. I sit at my computer and laugh reading your comments and my husband says "Carrie strikes again!" You now have a reputation at my house!

So is Sean married? :rolleyes1 No reason I'm asking. Just curious. ... Yeah.

And in my own COLOR! :rotfl:

He and DH are twin mugs! I think Sean was trying to outdo DH's toast at his wedding, which was delivered as a message from Sean's cats....

Very entertaining!!!
I sure hope our videographer caught it, although I guess we could always bring him into the studio to record a voiceover....

Sweeet! That's way better than the reputation I have at my house (i.e., "Are you on the Boards AGAIN?!")

That was sooo funny!!! I'm on the floor laughing!!:lmao: :lmao:

I wish you'd been a plant in the audience - I think a lot of the Disney, uh, Dislikers didn't get it....

So is Sean married? :rolleyes1 No reason I'm asking. Just curious. ... Yeah.

I'm afraid so, but if you're in the market, I highly recommend a nickel wish at Big Thunder Mountain's waterfall! :thumbsup2

Haha that is so cute!!!!!

:cutie:

Doh! I so should have done the "nickel wish" while I was there! We did have a nice long wait for Big Thunder, even with fast passes!

Hey Carrie, how do you do the link like you did with the nickel wish? I'd love to update my siggie like that for my TR and Pre-TR.
