I love the Magic Cookie Bars at POR! :lovestruc

Subscribing, although I am jealous of the fact that you can eat like that and look as good as you do!:rotfl:

Good lord...Chefs de France, Boma, Schoolbread....

where do I start?:rotfl2:

I just ate a cheesburger for dinner...I feel pitiful.;)

Let me say, thank you for reviewing Boma. Everyone raves about it so I do have dinner booked for us there this year. And I'll really excited to try it, now I know there will be a little something for everyone in my family.:thumbsup2

And I have seriously debated whether or not to try schoolbread...I mean, I like coconut, but I thought what's the big deal...until you described it so artfully and it sounds yummy!!! ::yes::

Wow, great reviews!
Finally someone who eats as much as me!:rotfl2:
My husband wonders where the heck I put all of that food, as I can eat him under the table anyday!!!;) The funny thing is he's 6'2" and I'm 5'2"!!!!!
Which is why I have to hit the treadmill EVERYDAY, except while I'm on vacation!!!!
POFQ is the best, we looooove that place! We will be staying there for the
3rd time next week!!!!!
Keep those reviews a comin!!!!!popcorn::

After reading about Chefs and Boma's...my humble little hot dog I had for dinner looks pathetic :rotfl: And oh, how I crave an Earl of Sandwich sammie!

Your reviews are wonderful!! Keep up the awesome work! :thumbsup2

Holy cow Batman, I didn't realize Earl of Sandwich was a chain!!!!!!!!! I thought it was A WDW only kind of place!!!!!! Sadly the one here in California is about 1 1/2 hours from me, thru heavy traffic, sooo not gonna happen, I guess I get to wait till August.

I have heard there is a good local rib chain around Florida...... Smokey Bones? Maybe? Anyways I heard they were good.... for next time hehe.

You have to forgive me Cheesecake Fatory then, because we have NONE in England! Its disgraceful!!!

I'm giving you a Free Pass when it comes to Cheesecake Factory. I've got one of those 5 minutes from home...and I still rarely go there. For me, it's also a treat!

Oh I didn't see soups - I blame the waiter!!!

Yes, not a very good server. There's usually a pod with about 5 soups in it. And the menu rotates on a 3 day schedule, which means you could have eaten there 3 nights in a row and gotten different menu rotations. ;)

And rest assured - the do still have the french menu but -get this - we were being good!!!!!!:rotfl:

:faint: I'm practically speechless.

Loving your review but then the British sense of humour always cracks me up. Living in Canada, we get a lot of British comedy shows and they are my favorites. I agree about the Zebra Domes. The texture and taste were just off for me, yet I thought the Watermelon Rind salad was actually better than it sounded.

BTW, you can always request recipes for Disney food (like those Magic Cookie Bars at POR) by writing guest.mail@disneyonline.com. For anyone who gets recipes, remember to share them with the Disboard Community at the Disney Recipe Exchange. (Had to get that in , LOL). ;)

All this sounds awesome. My family is going to Disney World for the first time (I have been several times as a child but never my husband or son) in 8 days and all this advice is great. We have ADR in several of the places you have listed and I am intrested in all the other places you tried as well!

More great reviews. I really hope to get to Boma one day, it always sounds so good, shame about your waiter though.

Ah have a great first trip together! It's so nice showing it to someone you love for the first time!

Tuesday 13th May

Breakfast in room again, beignets excellent again!

We were having a counter service lunch today and knew to get there early, but we were starving by 10.30 so decided to share an icecream (well it was my idea to share. TG not so happy about that). We got a waffle cone from Dinobite with choc and vanilla swirl in it – very nice!

Off to Flame Tree BBQ about 11.45. For months I have been hearing about how these are the best ribs at Disney – I couldn’t wait!! So I ordered the rib, baked beans and corn muffin platter. TG took my advice (instructions) and had the same thing – he also ordered a side of fries.

There were only a couple of tables left at that time (and I had thought we were so early and organised!) so we were forced to sit with a couple of the worlds tallest birds with the worlds biggest beaks. I am scared of birds (actually it’s the beaks I don’t like) so TG spent most of lunch trying to swoosh them away  – if you were there that day I was the hysterical one in the corner

The beans were as gross as everyone said so I was thankful for a couple of fries! More mush than beans – no shape left to them whatsoever. I was raring to go on the cornbread after my first try at Boma last night, and this was excellent – really moist and loads of it. The ribs . . . I don’t want to say it. I didn’t really like them – I’m sorry. The rub was a lovely flavour and nice for a chance instead of sauce, but I found the actual ribs gristly and hard to get the meat off the bone with the plastic knives and forks! TG is completely the opposite of me though - he has emailed me his review over from his work desk:-

“I would give that 7/10, nice ribs, beans were inedible, fries were good, bread not so good”

See – so it could have been just me. To be fair I generally only eat baby backs, so maybe this was how St Louis ribs are? (He is wrong on the lovely cornbread though!!)

I give it 6/10. I wouldn’t eat there again, but would buy a corn muffin on the way past!!

Late afternoon we went for our first Ghirardellis visit of the trip. This re-opened a couple of days before we arrived, to our relief. It was the same menu as usual for this visit, but then they changed the menu the next day!

I knew what I was having – my usual brownie sundae. TG went for the cookie bottom sundae (cookie in bottom of glass and all the usual gunk on top of it). My sundae was good (vanilla icecream, hot fudge sauce and cream – yummo) but the brownie part seemed a little . . . wet! I don’t know how else to describe it!! Usually brownies are dry yet gooey, but this just seemed missing something from other years. Not bad though. I still give it 8/10. TG gives his 7/10!
Brownie left,cookie right

Dinner was at one of our faves, Cheesecake Factory. We discovered this last year in Vegas and went 3 times in a week (when we give our love we give it with our whole hearts). Got there about 7.30ish, loads of people waiting outside but they had a table for 2 ready so we went straight in! Yey! Had a lovely server, efficient and friendly – wish I had made a note of her name! Now here we made a fatal, amateur mistake. We learned last year never to have an appetizer here as portions are so big that you stand no chance of a dessert (and what’s the point of going here without a dessert?!). But then we saw the sliders . . . we like sliders. So we ordered them (to share). Then I ordered the Factory burger which I loved last year and TG ordered the Tuns of Fun double burger.

Yup – we managed to order burgers for our appetisers and entrée!!!! Doh!

The sliders were lovely, tender and moist. I had one, I’m guessing we didn’t leave any so TG must have had 3!
CIMG2270-1.jpg

Burgers – I ordered the wrong thing!!! I think it was the classic burger I had last year in retrospect, this "factory" burger was long rather than round. The burger was super nice, but it was in really crusty bread rather than a soft roll, which filled me up super quick! Don’t get me wrong, it was good bread, but sooooooooooo filling. I don’t often eat fries (I am a mash girl) but I have been saying for a year that CCF do the world best fries and I stand by it – lovely! Just cooked to perfection!
Mine is at the front, and would you look at the size of his burger!!:-
CIMG2276-1.jpg

TG loved his – “10/10 for all, an excellent meal”. And we are unanimous!

We were stuffed, we had both left some burger, but I was darned if we were going to leave here without some cheesecake! Such a big dessert menu but after much thinking TG went for the snickers cheesecake and I went for the coconut one. It arrived and looked so good. We both just groaned, clutched our tums and had to ask for To-Go boxes – defeated at last!!!!!!!!!! Here are the piccies of them in our room – they didn’t travel too well!!
Coconut left, snickers right:-
CIMG2397-1.jpg

We sampled them the next day and they were very nice, really thick topping – just wish we could have had them with the meal! 10/10 from me as well – good quality food, excellent service, loads of menu choices for all three courses. (Side note, just to prove it is impossible to manage three courses here, our friends went here a couple of nights after us on our recommendation, stuffed 3 courses, and my poor friend had to go throw up in the toilets there!! Apparently the strawberry cheesecake isn’t so tasty coming the other way!!!. They also give it 10/10 apart from that!!!!)
That was it for today!

Up very soon, POR foodcourt, MK popcorn, Main St Bakery, Plaza Lunch, Crystal Palace dinner.

I’m sorry. The rub was a lovely flavour and nice for a chance instead of sauce, but I found the actual ribs gristly and hard to get the meat off the bone with the plastic knives and forks!

I am sorry too that you didn't get to like the ribs. I found that there's absolutely no need to any utensils when eating ribs, ::yes::

What are these itinerary cards you speak of?? :listen:

They are genius!!!!!! If you ask Eeyore' tailfinder I'm sure she will send you the template :goodvibes . . . you print out and laminate a card for each day of your stay and take the relevant card to the park with you. You have on it times of ADR's, notes of things you don't want to miss (my notes were mostly food!) rides you want to go on, park times, all sorts of stuff that make your day go smoothly! TG mocked me so much when I was making them, but he was sold by day 2!!

:faint: Oooh, while I was reading that, my heart skipped a beat! In a good way of course. I would love the template if Eeyore's Tailfinder is willing to send it to me. ::yes:: Thanks! I think they would be a great addition to my trip binder that I am working on.
