Iron Maiden Fantasmic.

I said I dont listen to it never said I havent heard them. I also said I couldnt tell you an Iron Maiden song cause I dont listen to them....

I dont see what is confusing you...If you try a pizza with Sardines but its not what you normally eat cause you dont like it then why cant you have an opinion....:confused3

Like I said I listen to lots of music and Iron Maiden is not any of it...

Talked about your flawed confused responses....
I agree that Iron Maiden (or just about any popular music) would be a bad fit with Fantasmic!, but in the PP defense, nowhere in any of your posts did you say or could I even infer that you had listened to and not liked Iron Maiden. That's why the confusion.

Of course, it didn't help any that you lumped Kiss in with Iron Maiden. That just makes NO sense! :) The only similarities are that they have a singer, drummer, two guitarists and a bassist. And they play loud.

This is kinda weird. But when I was watching Fantasmic in August 2008 I was thinking of how awesome it would be with Iron Maiden playing in the background.

If Fantasmic included Iron Maiden, my husband would want to go every night! He was in a metal band in high school and they covered several Iron Maiden songs. (And we are 25, so that tells you how recently this band was happening... And he wonders why I wasn't attracted to the 15-year-old kid in the Iron Maiden shirt with a naked lady on it who used to follow me around after band class...) If "The Trooper" was included in the Iron Maiden version of Fantasmic, he would think he had died and gone to heaven.

I assumed that it would be understood when I said I listen to alot of music but couldnt tell you 1 song....that is also the reference to KISS. I wasnt comparing the too, only saying its another popular group that I consider in that same general genre of music that I dont listen too...

that was my point...I am still entitled to my opinion....And if asked on a message board I will give it....;)

And this, I believe...is exactly what Mr. Axl's point was. That if Eddie had showed up to help Mickey slay the dragon to the tune of POWERSLAVE...he would just about poop himself.:rotfl: :rolleyes1

Maybe we're looking at this from the wrong perspective.

Maybe its not Disney that would object to Iron Maiden, but maybe Iron Maiden would object to appearing at Disney ;)

It all depends on the money.

Depeche Mode might sync up nicely with Fantasmic.

I'm not big Iron Maiden fan but I could sit through that on a Mickey's Very Scary Halloween Party!:thumbsup2

Although...since you bring it up...I am totally looking forward to the KISS pandas at AK!!

Not trying to be that guy or anything but "Flash of the Blade" would play during the fight with the dragon. Same album though so you were close Kelly. lol. But yes there is a chance I might poop.

OK, this thread got me thinking.

I agree that this isn't something that Disney should do for the masses. But it would be interesting for them to rent out the facility where they do a Fantasmic-influenced show as part of a rock concert. Or maybe for a private group that's rented the Park for a night. Any other 40's folks out there who want to do a "mullet rock" night at Hollywood Studios? Let's pool our money and do it! LOL

Anyway.. I spent 15 minutes and came up with an AC/DC version of Fantasmic (sorry, Iron Maiden doesn't do it for me). It's not the greatest, but I think it shows that you can set Disney to almost any type of music (IF you like the music). You can see it here:

That was awesome!!!! Now if Mickey could only travel to the Dark Side of the Moon!! :thumbsup2

I'm not an Iron Maiden fan, but DH grew up with it, along with Judas Priest and all that other "evil rock". I personally prefer Metallica, and loved it when they played with the symphony. Soo cool (to me).

Anyway, when we saw Fantasmic, DH compared it to a rock show. He is decidedly not a huge Disney fan after his first trip, but did LOVE Fantasmic. He was like, look, Mickey is a ROCK STAR! I could totally see it fitting!

Obviously we probably won't see something like that happen, and that's okay. It IS a good idea though, and something like it could be spectacular. A special event. It would probably be the coolest metal show EVER!

argg too many people hellbent on the logistics of making it a realizty rather than the greatness of the idea.

yes insert ___________ instead of iron maiden or ________________ instead of fantasmic. lets make this thing a positive thread.

First of all, why is anyone bothering to argue about this? It's just a fun idea.

I think this is funny. I don't know anything about Iron Maiden music but I like the idea of synching one thing with something completely different. We used to watch the Wizard of Oz with Dark Side of the Moon all the time and it went perfectly! Then when the CD ended, Vivaldi came on and, I swear, totally synched with the rest of the movie too! We like to watch TV with music in the background and one night, it looked like Bill Cosby was singing the humpty dance!

I'd love to see someone take a video of Fantasmic and synch it to different music. Oh that reminds me of this from a few years ago. Someone edited "Hey Ya" to scenes from a Charlie Brown Christmas!!

That is a very cool video. Made my wife and I laugh!!

If you are referring to me I was not trying to make it negative, just stating my opinoin. I got jumped for having an opinion against Iron Maiden.

All I was doing was doing what the original poster asked and that was...AND I QUOTE "What do you think?" the very last line of his post...So I tild him what I thought, nothing more....If wanted everyone to agree he should have said IRON MAIDEN FANS ONLY....:confused3

again not trying to be negative and for the record I couldnt imagine Fantasmic done any other way then the way it is now....JMHO

It would have been really cool if you used Thunderstruck too :scared1:

I don't think anyone really objected to you not liking Iron Maiden... I think it was the part about having never listened to them and declaring that you know you would not like it that people took issue with.
