The Mother/Daughter Polynesian Surprise **NEW 5/1 I'm back!

Hey Jen, I got behind! I'm so sorry your grandmother is dealing with health issues, I hope it turns out NOT to be cancer. A couple years ago I lost both of my grandparents within the span of 5 months - both to cancer. I was very close to them so it was really hard. In between the two, we went on a trip to Disney, and it was so wonderful to take our minds off of it for a while. So I hope your cruise is a blessing to you that allows you to relax and forget the real world. Of course, you are there to learn, so I guess it won't be ALL relaxation - but you know what I mean:goodvibes

I hope that you hear good news about your grandma when you get back. That must be hard not knowing.

Clearly, I had a run-in with a CM who did not know what they were doing the first time I called about the Train tour. I tried again today and got someone who actually knew what they were doing. Glory be! They pulled up the date that I wanted without a hitch. Applied my passholder discount, no problem. Charged my credit card, without hesitation ;) I had a funny feeling the first time when the CM said it wasn't available. Perseverance pays off! That's not the first time I've had a wonky CM at the tour/recreation desk either. Anyone remember the trail rides fiasco? I think I wrote about it somewhere in this PTR :rotfl:

Anyway, doesn't matter. The fact is that we're booked for the Magic Behind Our Steam Trains tour on Thursday April 29th @ 7:15am :faint: It's early but it's probably the only thing we'll do that day, park-wise. My intention is to spend the majority of the day lounging around at the Poly. Maybe with a Lapu Lapu in my hand? Sounds good to me!

This weekend I'm really going to concentrate on finishing our itinerary. Stay tuned!

You know that grandpa guy in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory? The one that gets up out of bed, and does a happy dance when he finds out he's going on a tour??

Yep, that's me , right now, for you!!!

Well, I'm not all old and crinkle-y like him, but I am pretty excited that you called again and got someone who knew what they were doing!

:yay::yay::yay::yay:

:rotfl2: You couldn't resist, could you? :rotfl2:

You know that scene in "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" where Judge Doom taps out the ol' shave-and-a-haircut rhythm to get Roger to come out of his hiding place? Roger goes berzerk and finally crashes through the wall and dramatically sings "Two bits!!!" Well, that was me when you dangled that "gotta get my butt in gear" line in front of me.

Glad to hear you got the tour you wanted. That's going to be an early morning!

I think the last time you had a problem scheduling a tour you titled the PTR installment "The Spanish Inquisition".

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:HA!! That's right!! Brother... I guess I'll have to take an extra patience pill if/when I call for a tour!

:lmao:I remember that part! That movie used to creep me out when I was a kid. Now I think it's just plain weird. Not my favourite movie by any means... Christopher Lloyd is a bit too creepy in it. Especially when he gets squished by the steam roller.

Glad to hear you got the tour you wanted. That's going to be an early morning!

I know... but hopefully Disney adrenaline will still be high! Hopefully buses run early enough. I'm thinking we'll take a Character breakfast bus to Contemporary and then walk over.

Aw, see. What would I do without you? I just went back to read it. Ugh. That was quite the nightmare of a phone call. :sad2:

I've had to call back both times I've called them. I never get a decent CM the first time. If you get a funny feeling, CALL BACK! You'll be glad you did. Good Luck Liesa!

No, I wasn't stoned when I last quoted.....

I have no idea what I did, or how that ended up that way. Please disregard any odd quoting... This message will now self-destruct.

Our groceries are all set! I placed the order today with Garden Grocer. Here's what we got:

Apples
Bananas
Ginger Ale
Baby Carrots
Yogurt - Vanilla, Strawberry, Blueberry
Orange Juice
Cereal - Mini-Wheats (for me) & Special K (Mom)
1/2 Gallon of Milk
Cinnamon Raisin Bagels
Cream Cheese
24 Pack Case of Bottled Water
Chocolate Chip Cookies
Oatmeal to Go Squares

Total: $80.80 including tax and delivery charge ($12)

That's like one breakfast buffet in Disney! Hopefully that will keep us going for the majority of our stay. :woohoo:

SO EXPENSIVE!!! How can that even be legal to charge them PER APPLE!? I was a bit shocked but... I gotta have my apples. Even if it does break the bank to get them

redlight, you should definitely try that tour next time. It's not terribly expensive (around $45) and it's really informative. Are you going back anytime soon? I've probably asked you this before... sorry if I have!

IF I get down to WDW anytime soon, I will try the tour. Right now, I'm trying to save money for other things, so I have no plans to go for the next year or two, but if I hit the lottery or come into money somehow, then that changes things for the better.

Looks like a varitible feast you've set yourselves up for in the room each morning! You've ordered almost exactly what I'd order- except the vile bananas, of course! :rotfl2:
