What are your biggest frustrations?

I would not want to call a fellow Buckeye a liar, but I'm pretty sure you were exaggerating, especially the amount of time it took. I just find it unlikely that four ECVs would be going to four separate stops in the middle of the day all at the same time to the same resort. I've never seen more than two ECVs on one bus, so what you witnessed was an abberation, not the norm.

I never said it was the middle of the day - not sure where you got that info. It was about closing at Epcot but we didn't stay for Illuminations. Whether you think it to be an exaggeration I could care less. I do know it was 1.5 hours (give or take a few minutes) because I checked my phone when we got in line and when we got to the resort. It may have been an aberration - like I've said repeatedly - I don't take the bus. You weren't there so I guess that gives you and all the other "experts" free reign to draw any conclusion you want. Maybe you seeing no more than two ECVs on a bus is the aberration. :confused3

Just becuase you have never seen it does not mean it it has never happened!!!!:confused3

As far as the whole scooter/bus thing goes, I have to think if there was a better way to handle them, Disney would have found it by now. According to ADA law, Disney has to provide equal axcess. Not seperate, but equal. Which rules out any seperate bus for scooter using guests.

If the scooters on the busses cause you no end of aggrivation, you probably should rent a car or use taxis. Yes it is an added cost, but it may be worth it to save yourself some frustration. However if you choose to use the busses at no point is it ever ok to make soto voice comments about the scooter users, or to accuse them of being fakers. NOT saying anyone here has done that.

People who use scooters have just as much right to use the busses as anyone else. Either ride the bus with them and be nice, or find yourself a way to the parks that keeps you in a Disney frame of mind.

Amen. There are too many "experts" on here who think they know everything. Very sad. :sad2:

We could reword that famous Regan quote to fit some on here!!! It would read the truth about some of our DIS friends is not that they know so much it is that they know so much that isn't so!:lmao:

Usually, my biggest frustrations at Disney is having to go home after the trip and not getting to go to the Haunted Mansion enough times.

I've never seen more than two ECVs on one bus
I'm not taking sides, just the facts. The vast majority of buses take two ECVs.

The amount of ECVs at WDW goes in spurts. I'll go for days, even a week without any and then, I'll have days where it's non stop. When that happens, I'll ask the guests if there is a ECV rally in town? I usually get a smile. Speaking of smiles, this thread could use some.:)

This post has also been reported as a personal attack. Thank you.

lol, you are welcome.

Actually was heading back to apologize.:rotfl: I forgot the cardinal rule of disney. Everything is always subject to change.

That said, I still think you are nasty about people using mobility devices. And there isn't any excuse for that ever.

I loved a nice bus driver when we were dealing with my mom's. She was scared to drive it on the little ramp, and I had to. I am not the one experienced in the process.

Please, take care, and know that you are special.

Yes, I know, this is a touchy subject for people. But really, you cannot deny that there IS wheelchair/scooter "fraud" abuse. Its there, whether you want to accept it or not, it is. AND , its much more rampant than you want to believe. Just like there are people that their need is not obvious but does exist.

That said, this issue is argued over and over and no side is winning.. It is what it is and that doesnt take away from the rights of those that need them, including the right to not be judged and it doesn't take away from the complaints that might exist about those that abuse them.

Still reminds me of my grandmother who hated when we got one for her and proceeded to use it to annoy people. She thought it was funny , LOL!

Ok, I admit we did see one scooter incident that really irked me. We were waiting for a bus at Pop a couple weeks ago. A family of about 6 or 8 comes up to the stop with an older gentleman driving the scooter. When the bus pulls up, a woman about 30 or so hops on and drives it on the bus. Ok, he was not comfortable driving it on, no problem. After we arrived at MK, she stayed on the scooter and drove it in the park. Now, I'm beginning to have my doubts if the older guy really needs it, I mean it is a fairly long trek into the park and she is still driving it down Main Street. Later, that day we run into that family again, this time another member of the group, a younger guy, is driving it and holding a kid. Of course, I know I can't be 100% sure, but I'm going to take a wild guess and say NOBODY in that group really needed an ECV. :confused3

Thanks for the backhanded apology - that's what I was expecting. :sad2: Next time you choose to call someone a liar make sure you know what you're talking about! I really think you need to go back and re-read what I posted. NO WHERE did I say anything about people using mobility devices - I have ZERO problem with anyone using them for any reason. What I said was that the process used to load and unload them is inefficient and that it shouldn't take 1.5 hours to get from Epcot to CBR which is basically across the road.

It does exist, but I don't think, wait, I know it's not rampant. It's such a small percentage of the total that it's not worth spending time thinking about it. I think most would agree that if anyone is going to complain, it would be the bus drivers. If you have to use one, all that's expected is a thank you, and a little courtesy from the other riders.

:rotfl:Oh my, I left for couple of hours just to find that they still try to prosecute you, lol. Maybe we can just move to execution.:confused3 I suggest 3 rides on IASW, count all dolls and report back. If it is not the right number, you brought it on yourself.:scared1: Smile and do not pay attention.:hippie:

I'm frustrated that I keep reading needtogomore's username as neednomore. I'm not sure why that is. :confused3

My pet peeve: The bus transportation at WDW.
(I'm not talking about being mad about all of the strollers/scooters, etc.; I'd read up on bus complaints before going so I knew that scooters, etc., would just add to the wait... no biggie.)

Basically, riding the buses was not a great part of our vacation and if we ever go back, we will certainly rent a car. [amazing how in control one can be of their own frustrations!!!] (For those who will pick this apart: Why didn't we rent one while there? We ended up ending our vacation early and heading home.)
But seriously.... Why do all of the meltdowns/family dramas seems to happen around you while you're in line for a bus?!?! :confused3

[and for the record.... no, PO buses serving both FQ and R do NOT always stop first at FQ, as many on here have said. I'd say it was 50/50. VERY frustrating to see us driving right past FQ to hit all of the R stops, to turn around and then go back to FQ.] (HEY!! We can add that to "my biggest frustration"!!!: Reading things on here that are proven wrong, incorrect or completely off base in reality!!! LOL!!! [just kidding everyone!]) :rotfl:

But the issue that actually BUGGED me about bus riding???? I realize not everyone is experienced with public transportation.. but really, IT'S OKAY TO MOVE FARTHER INTO THE BUS WHEN PEOPLE GET OFF so that, oh, I don't know, YOU MAKE ROOM FOR THE NEW PEOPLE GETTING ON! :thumbsup2

(Rude cast members are actually my biggest frustration, but that's for a whole 'nother post!) :surfweb:
