The NEW Official November 2010 Countdown & Planning Thread ~ Come join us! (Part 2)

I don't think I really mentioned it here, but during our trip we had a few issues with unfriendly cast members at the Fort, bathrooms at the Fort not being up to par and few other things that would take to long to list. We have not had these issues in the past, so I wanted to make sure WDW knew what had happened so others did not go through the same. :confused3

I did not think much more about it once I submitted the e-mail, but last week I got a call from Disney and they apologized for the issues and stated that I would be getting something in the mail for a free hook up site at Fort Wilderness to make up for it. :goodvibes I was at work at the time so I did not ask for how many nights or anything but thought it was nice that they wanted to make it right. Waiting now to get the letter and find out the details, BUT me and hubby may be going camping now for our anniversary trip. :lovestruc (We had been planning on staying off property to keep down on costs.) If it is for more then a few nights, we will probably try to take another family trip before our seasonal passes expire.

Also, I don't recall if I mentioned it, but as many of you know I was very disappointed we had to switch to camping from a cabin, but if I failed to mention it previously this turned out to be one of our favorite camping trips. :cool1: We took our old tent (that leaked in Jan.) with us to set up as our kitchen/living room and the extra space really made a big difference in our campsite comfort. :thumbsup2 If it had not been for the issues mentioned above, this probably would have been our best trip yet.

That is wonderful for your DD! My DD, at 10yo, was probably more able to handle the emotional tragedy of losing her lanyard than a 7yo. (If it had been my DS7, he would probably STILL be griping & crying about it!) :rotfl: So, I'm very thankful that your DD7 was able to get hers back  Like I said before, now we have a wonderful story to tell about the magic of Disney :lovestruc Although, I have secretly hoped that the jerk who stole it poked himself with one of the pins. :rotfl2: ;)

I had to laugh when I read that, because I would have been thinking the same thing. :rotfl:

That is good to know that Disney is going to try and make up for the issues you had while staying there.

Glad you guys had such a better time camping this time vs your other camping trip with the flooding.

Thanks! Me too!!! I was really fretting it a bit since this trip was originally planned to be the "going all out" trip, but as it turned out the camping part was not bad at all. Now if I can just be patient until that letter gets here :rotfl: and I know how I can plan from here!

Guess who is suppose to be making ADRs right now? And guess who can't make ADRs right now???? Yeap, that would be me. It won't let me retrieve my reservation number, so I can't book past the first two days. Ugh.... A bit peeved by that. Before, you were given the option to enter your reservation number in the dining area, but I can't find that option on anything but CRT. And it doesn't cross over. I even tried pulling them up by my TAs last name and that doesn't work either. I really had no plan to call to make my ADRs, but looks like I am now. Good thing we have a 2 hour delay this morning. :headache:

I love the Turkeys! You don't see to many online groups click like this one did. There is usually someone who spoils it. I was a moderator for a very busy military wives website and while they mostly all got along, there was still the usually bickering and ofcoarse, the typical trouble maker. This group is like a breath of online fresh air! ;)

And yes, I did get everything -and at the time we wanted. I was surprised, esp since I was planning for a larger group. We didn't want anything much. Ohana for both breakfast and dinner, Chef Mickeys breakfast, Tusker House breakfast, Coral Reef dinner, 50s Prime Time dinner and Grand Floridian dinner. Now, I just hope we can still go. New jobs and choosing your vacation times doesn't always go as planned. So keep your fingers crossed for us. We both have to get them approved. :worried:

Crossing my fingers for you and here is pixiedust: to boot! :thumbsup2

Just an FYI -- I started my Trip Report from November. It's the "Even our Stroller had Christmas Lights" in my siggie or link below, if you would like to join.

Yes, if you saw a stroller or two with battery-operated LED lights on it, that was us!

Love your pics! You have a beautiful family. I look forward to reading your report. (Now if I could just get busy doing one of my own! :rotfl:)

I haven't started yet. I'm just got my Hanukkah cards in the mail today and Hanukkah is nearly over!! :scared1: Just too much to do when we got back. I'll be starting mine soon, but I can't decide... should I make a new one, or should I just append it onto my August trip report which I just finished a couple weeks ago?

I'll be looking in on the rest of yours too!

Just got my photopass CD in the mail today!:yay:

I hope everything turns out. I have loved being a turkey. I have enjoyed Looking for those Green mickey heads in the park, though tricker than those hidden mickeys, Just as fun. And once you found one you knew a friend would be attached. I have one local friend on the boards( on my list anyway) but I feel like I have stumbled into a wonderful family. I truely hope we keep this group going for a long time.

Good Luck with getting the approved time off from your jobs :wizard:

I won't have to worry about DH getting time off anymore since as of January 1 he will be retired.

Thank you very much!

Coming back from Disney and going straight into the Christmas shopping, decorating, cooking, partying, end-of year school season is tough! It took me over 2 weeks to start mine!

Has anyone finished Christmas shopping yet? Or am the only one that hasn't finished. Have to get booze for my husbands side and my parents left. I wish someone else could finish for me. I don't even have my tree up yet. Starting to wonder if I will get to it at all. Sad because I want my son to have a great Christmas with the stockings up and the family tree. I just don't know how to get it done.
I'm not super mom, I wish I was. DH can't even get the lights up this year. We have lots on our plate.
Wish me luck. I am going to call some family to see if they will watch the baby so DH and I can get the house cleaned and tree up. Hope someone will help. How do you get things done with no family near by? I would be a crazy mess.
:santa:

I am really struggling this year. Shopping is usually done by now, I have barely started. My house is always decorated and the tree cut down by at the latest the first weekend in December. The house is not decorated at all and no tree till Sunday, our first chance to get out there. No lights outside yet either, DH has been working too many hours. I have had my DD8 home all week sick, I should be better using the time in but I have done notheirn but watch cartoons and cuddle for 3 days. Not complaning, but the more I do it the more stress I feel about what I am not doing. Here it is almost 2pm and I just got out of the shower. Yesterday I didn't even bother. I am determined to get something done today but so far I have not done anything. I don't know what is wrong with me. I think cause my kids are older but at the same time I still have 1 believer and I want to enjoy it with her while I can.

We have a foot an a half of snow outside and yet it doesn't feel like Christmas to me, something is off for sure.

Usually this Saturday is the girls' and my baking day. DH has the 2nd Saturday of every month with his friends and we always use the December one to bake all day long, we make at least a dozen different kinds of cookies plus candies and fudge, I want to do it so bad, and I will but am finding the lack of motivation very annoying. In fast I am literally angry with myself but it doesn't seem to help.

We don't have family nearby, in fact we hardly have family. Really all we have is my grandparents (that we are close to) and they are 8 hours away.

Holidays are very stressful for me with my mom and stuff, but usually the part within my own home makes me happy but this year it just feels like more work. Not sure why but it feels good to let it out here. :goodvibes

If I were nearby I'd either do your decorating, shopping, wrapping for you or offer to keep the baby (kids) so you could get some thing accomplished.

Our trees are up, actually went up before Thanksgiving so they'd be ready when we came home. All presents are bought (minus two small things), wrapped & under the tree. My Christmas cards that I like to mail out the 1st of December however are a week late. I'm going to the post office tomorrow to get those out.

I haven't started a trip report, was really debating on it I doubt I will. I just don't know that what I have to say would interest anyone, I did one in 2006 and I think it was all fo 3 pages including my posts.

After I posted today I found some motivation and got a big chunk of my decorating done and tomorrow will finish except the tree which we will get Sunday. I feel so much better having vented and now getting a bunch of it done. I even went and did a little shopping tonight.
