Awesome news about your grades Jen. Congrats. To all the Ranger fans, no one saw this one coming. So sorry. To the Yannke fans, enjoy our ex catcher with a broken hip who can't even run yet. Sorry the Red Sox are going to blow you out if the water this year, well at least on paper.
Thanks Alan! First thing my dad said to me "Know where Cliff Lee is going?" in a somber voice. Yep, saw it on facebook first thing this morning. Well, at least we don't have to face him except in the WS.

Get To Gether!!!:rotfl2: Sorry, I use that on another board. :headache:
Okay, got it :goodvibes THANKS! And looking forward to that DOTD! :drinking1

So many people, my self included, thought he was staying put. I just knew he was not going to the Yannkes, not after the way the fans treated his wife.

Lori - Let me know if you have had any cancellations on this tour. We would love to fill 2 spots if you find you have them. Thanks Val

Val, if this tour doesn't happen for you, then you and Bob are always welcome to go out the Golden Gate with us on our sailboat to whale watch. Of course, not till summer though.

I'm working on my FEs now. Almost done. I haven't received the fish extender I purchased yet. Got a notice yesterday that it should arrive between Dec 4-6...huh? aren't we passed that?

Sorry I have been absent but the season is fast approaching. We had two parties last weekend and more this weekend. Several people want to try and squeeze in dinners before Christmas. If you want to socialize why wait and try to cram it all in two weeks.....why not be in touch through the year and socialize when it's not so hectic?????

We leave Saturday for four days to Phoenix to have an early Christmas with our son who lives there. Then DH thinks we should go to Kingman the day after Christmas to his Dad's. Then back home for doctor appts on the 30th and we leave either the 31st, 1st, 2nd or 3rd. Who knows for sure when you fly standby.

Please keep our troops overseas in your thoughts and prayers. Our oldest son is in Africa until May. His daughter's sixth birthday was yesterday, so we did Chuck-E-Cheese.....hooray! He has an 8 yr old son also. So he will have missed Thanksgiving, her birthday, Christmas and possibly his son's birthday on this deployment. I know their are others also away from their families and I wish them all a SAFE holiday.

I went over my packing list today.....have I forgotten anything???????

If I don't post again, I wish you all a happy happy holiday season!!! For those of you already traveling or soon to I wish you a fun and safe trip.

Not much longer till we meet on the WONDER.....

Judy :dance3::banana::banana::banana::dance3:

As I was finishing this the phone rang and it was my son in Africa. It was SOOOOOO good to hear his voice and know he's healthy. That's the first time he's been able to call since he deployed.

Hi again all, especially my fellow Trekies. So I am watching the 3 A.M. showing of TNG. They are showing Tapestry. I love this one and it has one of my favorite lines. It is when captain Picard dies. He is shaking hands with Q, and Q says, "Welcome to the after life Jean-Luc. Your Dead". Then the look he gives Q is priceless. I find it hilarious.

Great episode! It's been a while since i've watched it. Picard as a Lieutenant is just too funny!!

Just a great episode. They really did some of there better work in the later years.

Most of the Q episodes were well-done! DD  Jean-Luc (probably b/c DH has the same hair:lmao:!)...sometimes the best lines are the ones unspoken!

Mommy's brag moment...DD made a 97 on her Pre-AP Biology Final this morning!!!! :cool1::cool1: we're going shoes shopping after tomorrow's final -- thanks Jenn for the new reward system at our house:rolleyes1. Tonight's subject...Pre-AP Geometry:teacher: -- thankfully she :lovestruc this subject!!

I've decorated all that will done for the holidays, less to take down too...especially as we celebrate Epiphany (January 6th which is the 12th night of Christmas), this time the tree comes down before NYE & we'll be celebrating with all our DIS friends:grouphug: as we leave PC headed to CC!!!

Anyone else an Award Show junkie?? Golden Globes announced this morning and will be awarded on Sunday, January 16th (too bad they are on NBC and we won't be able to watch them popcorn:: and most of all, laugh at the outrageous outfits:3dglasses during the red carpet arrivals!!)

Back to reality...until later...TTFN...

I think I have all the in house gifts wrapped now (that's what I spent my afternoon doing), except for maybe one 0- a tiara for DD#2 (whose doing the Princess with me) I've been toying with the idea of getting her one when I get mine for the cruise.

I'm an awards show junkie as well. And just b/c they won't be showing it onboard doesn't mean you can't laugh at the outrageous outfits online as they're posted. You'll still have plenty of chances.

You got it! And to Jen's friends, also!

For grades like that, she DESERVES sparkly shoes! Good Job, Girl!

Awe! Get her the tiara - you know she's a princess!

have a great night, everyone!

As a reminder too...remember that all passports have to be good for 6 months past our cruise. DD's was going to expire in May so I had to get her a new one.

I just wanted to THANK YOU for posting this. How did you find out about this? I had no idea. Both DH and my passports expire in May. I never thought it would be an issue. Now we will be rushing to the County Clerk's office first thing tomorrow.

I am so upset I didn't know about this. We have had this cruise booked for over a year. I had plenty of time to get our passports renewed, and now I have to pay rush fees (about an additional $200)...and more stress I do not need as we count down to Christmas and the cruise.

Thank you again for posting this...I wouldn't have known otherwise!

Well last part of the trip is taken care of. Booked our transfers with DCL from AKL. Got a ride home from the port so only needed one way. That's one reason we went with DCL. It was a little cheaper, and since we have 15 days, I really don't care what time I get there as long as I get there.

I broke down and ordered the shoes. As someone pointed out, they are Stuart Weiztman shoes, which are not cheap. BUT 6pm had one pair in the silver in my size for 50% off with free 2 day shipping. I couldn't resist. They'll be glued to my feet on the boat!

They have arrived!

The Panama Canal Certificates were on my porch this afternoon.

 They are a bit bigger than I was expecting :rotfl::rotfl: I didn't really expect them to be that big. Although I did see the dimensions on the website - it didn't register in my brain!

Soooo, if you have ordered a Panama Canal Certificate I would strongly recommend bringing a mailing tube to help get your certificate(s) back home safe and sound. They are much bigger than a standard 8"x10" certificate! (Can we get this info added on the front page?)

They are 15.5" by 21" so your mailing tube should be at least 16" tall and a reasonable diameter.

They are stunning though! I love them.

I also need your suggestions. They have adhesive gold seals that should be embossed before sticking them onto the certificate. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what we could use to emboss the seal? I was thinking a mickeyhead would be cool, but I have no idea how to do that. Suggestions? Help!

I was also hoping that some friendly peeps would be able to help emboss the seals and put them on the certificates once we are onboard (I don't want to do it prior to being on the ship so that they stay as nice as possible as we travel across the country.) Perhaps we can meet up one evening early on and do it over a :drinking1 or two!

I have a few (4) spare certificates (with no name) if anyone who didn't get one wants one (or if someone wants to give one as a gift to their server / room host / RAK someone randomly on the ship). All spare certificates now spoken for. Sorry

An idea about mailing tubes...
What about wrapping paper rolls? I know some of them are very flimsy but I have some that are quite sturdy. In fact, one is empty and I've been meaning to throw out and it is so thick I can't even get it so smash in to condense. So, there is a reason I've been meaning to forget to throw it away! DH can cut it down for me. If it is long enough for 2 16" tubes, I'll bring the extra one along. I also have other of the same paper (from the Disney store non the less :thumbsup2) and if I happen to finish any of those off and I can bring those as well. :goodvibes

As far as helping out with the seals, I'd love to help out if I can.

Morning everyone! Found out this morning that I earned A's in both of my classes this semester. This is a HUGE relief as my professor ripped the first half of my thesis to shreds. She thankfully allowed me to rewrite it. My traditional treat to myself is a new pair of shoes when I get a 4.0 for a semester. (The last two semesters I didn't). I really want a pair of sparkly silver shoes... what do y'all think of these:

Love the shoes, but I could not stand in them! I am so glad you got them & a big Congrats on the 4.0! Shoes are my biggest weakness!

Wanted to send you a picture of my bedroom window. My daughter had a surprise for me!

Kay, if you still have an extra I'd like one. I meant to get one and it completely slipped my mind.
