Funny update, Post Host!
Liesa, sorry you are still feeling like crap,
Hope you can get a quick end to your pain. Funny idea about the pain meds! Maybe you should take a portrait pic while on them, and you could be just like Cherie!
So, I am now going back for yet another test tomorrow called a hydascan. Since the US didn't show any stones, they have to determine whether I have a malfunction GB. If it's not that, he says I may have an ulcer. I guess I am supposed to take Prilosec for a couple of weeks as well, and go from there. Long story short, no quick fix for me.
I don't think I've ever noticed those medallions either!
You snagged some great shots on SE, stuff I've never even seen on there.
I personally don't mind the feet seats in Soarin' - for me it reminds me of how high up we are and makes me feel like I'm flying even more.
Ya, I'm weird like that!
This sounds like a good one! I'm going to mark it in my "list" for a future read.
They are easy to miss, if you aren't looking down; I'll wager to guess you've had a stroller in your way of seeing them for a while now.
OK, that is wierd, Brook! Feet detract, not enhance. But hey, you can have the feet seats anytime! More front row ones for me.
When my oldest so was in high school they had a band director (only there 2 years) who started a trash can band with whatever kids were interested. It was really pretty good. They used about 4 or 5 big plastic trash cans, some metal lids, old boards, paper sacks, pvc pipe, just basically whatever they could beat on.
It was loud - although not as loud as the Jamminators since they weren't using metal cans - and it was really pretty neat and sounded good. They played a couple songs at a couple of the regular band concerts, they had a hay rack that they rode on to perform in a few different parades, and they perfomed in the talent show at the county fair. The kids loved it. The band director was actually able to get more kids to join band because of it. Of course, in the wisdom of our school board, they fired her, and two years later band no longer exists at our school.
Sounds like a victim of budget cuts to me. Or she was just too progressive for their taste?? Sad.
Liesa, I am so far behind on all of my subscribed threads this week, that I can't comment on everything. But I did read your last two updates and they were great as always, I LOVE the pics of you with the characters.
I am too; with all my docs. appts. lately, I've fallen terribly behind. So hard to catch up when you get in that situation. BTW, I"ve been wondering how your roof situation and your brother are doing. I'll get on over to your thread tonight, and give it a check up.
Liesa, I would love to see your Christmas bonus update including the Lebkuchen! My tea bonus update only took me something like 8 months to post...
OK, I'll have to work on that soon. Maybe I'll take my computer to the lab tomorrow and see if they have internet and work on it while waiting for my turn.
I know, running in the cold isn't fun. I still do it as long as there isn't any ice or snow on the road. But only down to -2°C, not if it is even colder. You just need to wear warm cloths - preferrable only "technical" fibers, no cotton which will just cling to you cold and wet when you get sweaty. I was supposed to do a "fast run" today for 45 minutes according to my schedule, but I wasn't much faster than on other days. But now I am very tired. Unfortunately I am finding my training way too tiring at the moment. Not the way it is supposed to be.
I have no idea what it is. The only good thing is that the scale is moving in the direction I want it to move.
Moving the scale DOWN is such a good thing. I can't believe how 5 months of running last spring/summer put me in the best shape I've been in for years! Alas, I've let it go, and can really see a difference. I know I can start again soon, and can really train until November, then I'll by then know my city well enough that I can find a good gym and continue on with a treadmill until spring 2012. Then after that, it'll be just a few short months until that 1/2 I"m really looking forward to. I think 18 months is more than plenty of time to be ready.
Flight of Wonders is a very funny show! I love how they make fun of tourists!
I think it's pretty funny too. And I like how they make fun of him too at the same time.
And the Gutenberg bible is still in Latin, the first one in vernacular is the translation by Luther. Which was then made popular due to the printing press which was invented shortly before Luther's time. We still use the Luther translation (in a modernised form) in the German Lutheran church. And this translation is also the origin of modern German - until then there were very many different dialects and not one common written language. Luther's bible translation kind of codified written German .
DUH!! OF COURSE it was!! How could I have forgotten that??!! Guess it's been too long since I've seen Luther. I grew up in the Lutheran church too- I should have known that without even thinking.
