Stevie Nicks is AWFUL!!

I saw Fleetwood Mac about 8,9,10 yrs ago? She was OK then. I have always loved Stevie and crew, so I am not a hater but a lover.

Frankly there is really nothing I "hate" to begin with so I do not understand the mentality of hating music, movies, etc. It is just personal preference.

I've always liked her, but I definitely think she doesn't need to make any more new music. I could listen to the classics, like Landslide, all day.

Just about ANYONE who sings live on DWTS sounds really bad. That stage is not acoustic. However, the real problem is that you can't mask and change the voice as much as they obviously do in the studio.

Miley was wretched. Even Taylor Swift was terrible.

Even on music awards shows, they just don't sound that good live.

Lady Antebellum is about the only group I've heard that seems to be able to sing well live.

I always loved Stevie, we saw her in concert many times in the past. Sadly, I think it's time to hang it up, she has no voice left.

Sorry to hear it. When I was a little girl I so wanted to be Stevie Nicks; she was just the coolest. I've seen her live a couple of times and her performances just didn't measure up. Landslide is an awesome song, though; one of my all-time faves.

Age affects the voice just like every other body part; rarely do 60-something singers sound nearly as good as they did in their younger days. James Taylor is one exception IMHO; his voice has aged gracefully and he still sounds great.

I love Stevie but its definitely time for her to retire.

Obviously, there is no changing the mind of all you haters, but I thought I would bring to light that Stevie is still recovering from a very recent bout of PNEUMONIA that she came down with while right at the beginning of trying to promote her new cd. (Which has been called among her best work ever by Rolling Stone and Entertainment Weekly ;) )

I saw her live in concert last month, along with Rod Stewart. Rod was fantastic! He is one of the few people that sound the same in person as he does on the radio.

On the other hand, Stevie Nicks was HORRIBLE. She was off key, and her voice has not held up well at all. Most of the people in the audience agreed, and couldn't wait for her to get off the stage. I was very disappointed because I used to really like her.

My daughter and I watched her last night. My daughter asked what was the matter with the singer?

I used to be able to listen to her (but didn't like her music). Last night I couldn't understand her at all and it sounded like she was in pain when she sang.

I can't speak to what she's done lately, but IMO, Stevie had a great rock voice. Female singers with pretty, perfect, polished voices are a dime a dozen. Watch American Idol. Heck, go to your local High School spring concert for that matter. A good rock singer of any kind has to have grit and soul and something that sets them apart. She absolutely did.

My opinion. But that's what's great about music - there is NO right or wrong, but there is something for everyone.

This was also the feeling of those who saw Rod & Stevie in concert in Atlanta. :sad2:

I thought she looked a little out of it last night. I don't want to say "stoned", but I thought she was high. :confused3

The woman has been battling pneumonia!

Stevie Nicks cancels all New York appearances: Singer is suffering from pneumonia and the flu

On the eve of the release of her seventh album, "In Your Dreams," Stevie Nicks has canceled several upcoming appearances in New York because she's suffering from pneumonia and the flu, according to a press release.

The former Fleetwood Mac singer, 62, has been ordered by her doctor to "stay in bed and not fly" until she fully recovers.

Nicks was set to perform on NBC's "Today" and Fox's "Good Day New York" on Tuesday and at a star-studded concert thrown in her honor by her record label, Reprise Records, at Webster Hall on Wednesday -- but all have been canceled.

"I want to apologize to all my fans and hope that we can reschedule and of course I hope you love the new album," Nicks said in a statement. "It's for you."

I am one of the biggest Stevie Nicks fans around! I grew up listening to her and I just love her music. I finally got to see her in person a couple of years ago at a local casino. She was amazing! She sounded just like she did when she was younger.

The only thing that got on my nerves was her talking about Wicka. I could have done without that. I don't like it when artists use their concerts to promote their religion or politics. Melissa Etheridge did that when my sister (a huge Melissa fan) went to see her. It was all about how being a lesbian was the best! Well, cool...you're a lesbian. Shut up and SING!!!

Ok, now I feel bad for criticizing her so harshly.:flower3:

:thumbsup2 Loved her with fleetwood Mac. Honestly I think hard living may have also aged her prematurely.

totally agree!! I think she looked good to!! But I have always loved that "One of a kind" type unique voice that made her successful!
I am not a "cookie cutter" singer type. love the real raw talent types!

For the record, I didn't even know she was on DWTS. I've never once watched the show.

My dislike for Stevie Nicks and Fleetwood Mac goes back waaaaaaay longer, so it has nothing to do with her recent pneumonia. Besides, I would never base my opinion of a band/artist on one single performance.

This got me thinking of all the entertainers out there who are good performers but not good singers. Here's a few that come to mind:

Rod Stewart
Bette Midler
Joe Cocker
Peter Allen
Cher
Madonna

I'm sure I'll think of others. Remember this is JMHO.
