Hey! You had your trip, this time I'm in charge! Nicki & Todd LIVE!! Completed :(

Crazy busy at work but I promise replies and last update tomorrow night!

Welcome back to the real world. :headache:

Sorry you are so busy, but I know exactly how you feel.

We should just win the lottery and then we wouldn't have to worry about it.

Well,I know exactly where to go our last night! B&C I'm getting rid of Turf Club for that!! Ice cream just seems like a good way to end the vacation!!;) I'm glad you got to enjoy some w/o getting sick.
I was laughing b/c we get sick off ALL the restaurants by the end of the week too & here you guys loved your lil ham & cheese in the room! Sometimes the little things are just as nice. Can't wait to see what happens on your last day!!
So sad it's ending..You book the next trip yet?? :lmao:

Nicki, thanks for posting your pics of your Boardwalk room ! it looks GORGEOUS!!!! Now you've thrown a wrench in my planning..... I'm having to consider BW now! (still deciding if YC would be better for a 6 year old because of the pool)

Loving your posts...... :lovestruc You guys are so adorable !!!!

Hi Nicki,
I loved all of your reviews! I can't wait for your next trip to read more? When is it? I guess you probably can't believe you're back in the real world. Thanks for taking your time to give us all the great and entertaining reviews.
Joan

I rarely post, but I have to tell you that I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your dining reports!!! I am sad your trip is over....go again soon...please!! ;)

Just finished reading everything! I always LOVE your reviews! The pics and descriptions have helped me made ADR decisions before. Happy belated birthday and it looks like you and Todd had another wonderful trip filled with lots of delicious food.

Happy Halloween!
You can't be home already...this can't be...everday I make believe my lil sammy is one of your wonderful meals or a dessert....uggghhh you are making all of us get back to reality...:sad1::headache::confused3:sad2:
Thank you for the BWI pics! Hope you had a safe rid home and will be back real soon! :cloud9:
Micky

Another great dining report, Nicki! These always make my day and give me a little Disney fix. :)
Please go back soon or maybe do a mini dining report from home as I think I enjoy the dialogue more than the Disney food sometimes! It's like spending an evening with Nicki and Todd. :)

Tokyo Dining looks like the food was pretty good and they sure do give you a lot of it, but I don't know if I could stand that much noise either. The chocolate peanut butter cupcake is the next one I want to try.

Beaches and Cream looks so good! We were going to stop by last visit and I couldn't find it! Haha for some reason I thought it was right on the boardwalk and I didn't realize it was at the Beach Club, we walked around the boardwalk a little and didn't see it so we just went to the bakery instead. And I had that same fruit tart that Todd had, I thought it was excellent! Oh, and I'm also a big fan of root beer floats with chocolate ice cream!

The food at TD was very good, I would not mind going back for lunch...that cupcake was just nuts, I loved the peanut butter...as you can tell from B&C, that place is fantastic!

I can't believe your trip is almost over :(
It's amazing how rude people are when trying to "catch up" with their party, maybe I'm a Grinch, but the only excuse I find acceptable to get separated and then trying to rejoin is a bathroom break for a little one

Such a bummer coming back to the real world and going to work! The line cutters were annoying thats for sure!

We had lunch at Tokoyo dining-not crowded at all-that salad looked really yummy. I love ginger dressing!! How cute you had a picnic!!! Have a great last day tomorrow!!

We bought some from the gift shop, hope its close to the real thing! The picnic was a great way to spend our last night!

Sorry I've missed some updates (this cold is kicking my butt). Everything looks yummy, and Mark and I really need to get to Beaches & Cream on our next trip. Sorry you slept through Flying Fish...so unlike you, but I love the picnic idea.

Have a great last morning/early afternoon tomorrow and drive home safely. Text me when you get home so I know you arrived safely.

Love you.

I know you are feeling better cuz we talked alot yesterday ;)

Mmmm, Tokyo Dining. I tried it for the first time on our last trip and really liked it. With a window table overlooking the lagoon, excellent service, and simple, relatively healthy food, I was in heaven. Plus, the restaurant was very quiet and peaceful - that played a huge role in creating a pleasant atmosphere for me. Sounds like I wouldn't enjoy dinner as much if it's crowded and noisy.

We really liked it too, minus the noise of course!

After having stayed at all of the Deluxe resorts (except for the Swan), we have finally figured out that our two favorite Disney resorts are the BWI and the Poly.

I must admit I was a little disappointed that you didn't make it for dinner at the Flying Fish. If you happen to think about it tomorrow as you are walking by there, could you do me a huge favor and snap a pic of the current menu? I would be eternally grateful. :)

Those are our two faves as well..hopefully next Oct we can do 5 nights at each place and book our dining around our location. I was very bummed that we missed FF too and I did take a photo of the menu that I promise to post tonight!

As much as I love your dining reviews, I want to say THANK YOU for posting pics of your room at BWI! I'm staying there for the first time in Jan and it's so nice to see what the rooms look like!

Sorry you missed FF but the in room picnic idea sounds so sweet and nice! Loved the review of B&C! The No Way Jose is my favorite and it's been 2 years since I've had one. It's really good to know they can make it smaller since there is no way I could finish one myself. Okay, maybe I could.

You are very welcome! The waitress at B&C said you can get any sundae in a small size, except the kitchen sink!

Pumpkin pancakes! :thumbsup2 I never knew they had special menus!

Those treats at the Bakery look yummy. And you are so right about the apples, you never see someone eating them :lmao:

Karin they were fantastic! I love pumpkin pancakes!

Where are all the pickles on Todd's plate at Beaches and Cream? So funny that he has pickles with taco salad but not a hot dog!

Please be hungry for Kouzzina this morning because your demanding reader wants to hear how the food is. :rotfl:

OMG, he didnt get one pickle did he? I never noticed! Yes we did go to Kouzzina, will post tonight!

Nicki, Loved your idea of a picnick in your room. Sometimes the simpliest things are the best ideas. Too bad it's your last day. You're right, it wnt by quickly. But you could always be here digging out from 18 inches of heavy wet snow, and no power to boot. Last night's storm was a doozy. I wish I was in Disney right now.

Oh Jane that stinks! We didnt have any hot water on our last morning, that was bad enough :lmao:

I've always done the first lunch seating at Tokyo Dining, and I've never had a problem with noise. I have Tokyo Dining on my list for next year for dinner, but maybe I'll do lunch again instead since the menu is the same either way and I'd rather avoid the noise.

I had the veggie tempura too, and the shredded veggie cake was my favorite part too! I spent a few minutes trying to figure out what it was, but I think it was shredded carrots and zuchinni, and then I don't know what they did to it to make it taste so good. I think next time I'm going to try the shrimp and scallops though. I'm just so glad there's a place on property we can get good tempura.

I think it was so noisy because everyone was trying to get out of the rain...the next time we go to TD we will do one tempura shrimp and one chicken, they were excellent!

I can't believe your trip is over!! Wow, those 10 days went fast. I'm sure they went even faster for you.

Sorry about the Tokyo Dining mob/noise. We noticed similar disasters in many restaurants during the heavy rains earlier in the month. Evidently (and not surprisingly), people are in no rush to leave their tables when it is pouring outside, so things get backed up. I also observed that many people who didn't have plans for a sit-down meal decided to wait for one of those hard-to-get tables just to get out of the rain. All that, plus the crankiness and mess that just goes with being rained on all day, evidently results in some very ugly waiting areas in the restaurants!

Hope your trip home was safe. Looking forward to your closing thoughts!

The trip went really fast and when we both got to work yesterday we texted each other with sad faces! :sad2: I think next time we go to TD it will be for lunch, the food and drinks were excellent!

Here's another :thumbsup2 for kids meals! I've never had their ham & cheese sandwiches though and those are my favorite! I'll add that to my list of items I want to try :)

And it was one of the best meals we had! :rotfl2:

Glad to know Tepan Edo is loud. Definately something we would have to take into consideration. Wow, 4 bottles each! Your room looks great! A studio, right? I never knew you could get a 2 dip no way jose!! My husband always has to do einey meiney meiney mo to decide if he's getting a burger OR the No Way Jose. He can't eat both, but this way he probably could!! So good to know!!!

We came home with so many toiletries, love it! The room was a standard king bed, not in the villas. Next time have hubby get a two dipper sundae!

I can't believe it's nearly the end of your trip :sad2:

I demand you stay at WDW so we can all keep on enjoying your updates

I love your demands, I am taking up a collection if you want to donate to us staying longer :goodvibes

Awesome food porn as usual Nikki!!!I am with Kathy this cold is kicking my BUTT!!

Get better soon Rosie!

I am finally all caught up & your trip is already almost over! :(

Where DID the last 10 days go?

I have really loved reading your reviews from the beginning & it sounds like you had a great birthday trip :thumbsup2

Can't wait to see what your last day has in store for you!

The 10 days just flew by, I hate that! Glad you enjoyed the reviews, more to come later tonight

Thanks!

Unfortunately the pumpkin bagel is from Bagel World here in Mass. But since you're a pumpkin fan like I am, I'll fill you in on the picture texts that my Brother and BIL have been sending me.

The first was from my brother at Target. He saw a box of Eggo Pumpkin spice Waffles.

Do you think the guy would buy them? No, he tells me he doesn't like pumpkin. So this weekend I go to Target in Danvers, Saugus and Woburn and they're all out :headache:

Next my BIL texts me from Stop and Shop and he found pumpkin pie pop tarts popcorn:: which he picked up the last box for me and I will be getting them when they come to visit this month. Then he also sent me a picture of Pepperidge Farm pumpkin spice swirl bread.

I don't think the bread will last, so I'll be hitting up the Stop & Shop here in town and if that doesn't work, we have a Pepperidge Farm outlet in the next town over.

Woman you are killing me! I grew up in Saugus, my mom is in Everett and she said they have the pumpkin Eggos at the Stop & Shop in Medford. I hae had the Pep Farm bread but it isnt that pumpkin-y but I use it for french toast which I dip in an egg/milk mixure with some vanilla and pumpkin pie spice...so good!

We had the kakuni from Japan on our trip, and we really liked it. If not for the ribs at Tokyo Dining, the kakuni would have been our favorite app for our entire trip.

All the pumpkin talk made me make pumpkin bread last night. YUM!

Jill in CO

Darn it! We almost ordered the ribs! Have to get those the next time! I am making a pumpkin gingerbread this weekend, get the house smelling all yummy!

WooHoo!!! We're looking at 10/17-10/26!:yay:

AWESOME! Can next year get here already?

Great Pix of F & W samples !!I always look but with the gang, it would be hard to find stuff that they all would like at one booth!! I have on my Radar a solo trip for F&W one of these years !!

You would love it! Its so fun and tasty!

Welcome back to the real world. :headache:

Sorry you are so busy, but I know exactly how you feel.

We should just win the lottery and then we wouldn't have to worry about it.

I do not like it one bit

I really dont miss the ice cream but sometimes I just want it so much that I have to get it :rotfl: We were so sick of eating, the sandwiches were so good though! We didnt book another trip yet, the plan is to take a year off and do some other things but for sure we will be back Oct 19-29 2012!

So enjoyed your dining adventures sorry to see it is over!!! Thanks again, Elaine

Thanks Elaine, such a downer when good things come to an end

Another great dining report, Nicki! These always make my day and give me a little Disney fix. :)
Please go back soon or maybe do a mini dining report from home as I think I enjoy the dialogue more than the Disney food sometimes! It's like spending an evening with Nicki and Todd. :)

I would love to go back soon, I need to play the Mega Ball tonight and win 245 million so I can move into the Castle Suite :lmao:

Enjoyed your report, you are a good sport!

Thanks!

I really dont miss the ice cream but sometimes I just want it so much that I have to get it :rotfl: We were so sick of eating, the sandwiches were so good though! We didnt book another trip yet, the plan is to take a year off and do some other things but for sure we will be back Oct 19-29 2012!

Good for you having such self control!
Oh & It's so nice you live in Fl b/c you can jump on a great cruise w/o air. There is just a million & one choices!! Maybe a Disney cruise?:goodvibes I'll be checking for next years review on F&W! This one was so fun!!

Finally, this one is odd, but my brother texted me a picture of pumpkin seltzer water  I'm not sure about this one, but it does have me curious. It might be Poland Springs, but I'd need to go back and look.

The pumpkin seltzer is by Polar. They have a few seasonal flavors - Granny Smith Apple, Cinnamon, Candy Cane, Pumpkin Spice and Eggnog. I'm not sure what I think, though...

Awesome report.

I might try a live report next year, we are booked for October 17-29. :cool1:

Thank you and will see you in WDW next year!

Good for you having such self control!

Its not always so easy  I would love to go on a cruise but Todd will never go for it..not in a million years, and I have no clue why because he owned a few boats and was always on the water.

The pumpkin seltzer is by Polar. They have a few seasonal flavors - Granny Smith Apple, Cinnamon, Candy Cane, Pumpkin Spice and Eggnog. I'm not sure what I think, though...

We have a Sweet Bay here that carries Polar seltzers...I am going to go check it out. I have my sister scouting out the Super Targets to locate the waffles lol

Time to finish up this review..still cannot believe its all over with!

Here is the latest Flying Fish menu, it was the same every day during our stay

Oct30001.jpg

Our last morning, we all knew it was coming but it still shocked us when it arrived. We slept in and were all set to take showers but there was no hot water, not one stinking drop. Todd called the front desk and they said they were aware of the issue, no hot water in the entire resort, and they were working on it. We both took freezing cold showers and that totally woke us up! :scared1:

Since we slept in we were pretty hungry and I suggested a nice TS breakfast

Me - Hungry?

Todd - You have to ask?

Me - Want a big breakfast or the BWI bakery again?

Todd - Let me guess, you have been suggesting Kouzzina every single day of our stay. You remind me that your Disers want you to eat there. We are staying in the resort. I heard you call to get reservations this morning

Me - So, what are you getting at?

Todd - Shut it and lets go

And that is how we had breakfast at Kouzzina! We walked in to an empy lobby and withing minutes there lobby was packed! The restaurant wasnt that full but the service was very slow, mostly because of the kitchen staff not the server. People that were seated after us and ordered after us had their food before us which was weird

We shared a pressed pot of coffee, this was pretty good, had a spicy flavor to it...problem was it grew cold fast, I think it was pretty cool in the restaurant. When we finished it our server asked if we wanted another one or regular coffee, we asked for regular and he didnt charge us for it

Oct30008.jpg

Todd was very boring, he had bacon, over easy eggs, potatoes and toast. The breakfast potatoes and the sweet potato hash is the same thing, its a mixed of sweet and white potatoes and onions and it was fantastic but again the food grew cold fast. His eggs were perfect and the bacon a tad underdone which is how I like it, he prefers it too well done.

Oct30011.jpg

Me - I cannot believe you had a Regular Joe breakfast, I wanted you to get something funky like the Stacked Breakfast.

Todd - This is the same thing except plain toast and no artichoke spread. You get something funky

So I did! I went way way way out of my norm and had the new Bakalava French Toast...the server said it did have some dairy in it so I took a Lactaid and ate half of it, the platter was huge! The bread is a wonderful fig and anise country bread, nice and dense with a very subtle anise (licorice) flavor (it reminded me of the little Italian bakeries we have in Boston) and on top was hot apples and walnuts and cinnamon and honey. My bacon was super crispy and well done so I swapped it with DH's, this was real honest to gosh bacon, no fake WDW garbage here! This dish was better than the pumpkin pancakes I had at Kona and you all know how I feel about them! We both loved this dish so much and we were so bummed that we didnt eat there twice but were so glad we ate there at least once!

Oct30010.jpg

I think on the next trip we are going to do all TS breakfasts and skip the dinners .... maybe :goodvibes

After breakfast we decided to go to Epcot, the original game plan was to eat early and have the F&W booths for lunch before we left but we were so full from breakfast that we didnt want lunch. Not to say that DH didnt want a snack anyways :rotfl:

We did the entire front part of the park and then it was getting a bit cloudy and I thought it might rain and I hate driving I4 in the rain so I told him to make a decision about what he wants and we are outta here.

We were close to China so we popped into Lotus Blossom and he got, wait for it...EGG ROLLS!

He didnt like them, very greasy and didnt have much filling

Oct30013.jpg

And pot stickers, these he liked

Oct30012.jpg

He wanted a peach oolong ice tea but they didnt have it so we had to go to the tea stand to get it. He loves this but I think its too sweet

Oct30014.jpg

And thats all she wrote folks! As it stands now we are not planning on going back to WDW until next Oct but if things change I'll let you know! Thanks so much for following along on our adventures!
