I wonder if I could get some advice from you wonderful people! :goodvibes We're currently booked to stay at the Boardwalk Inn later this year. We're making the rounds, trying to stay at every hotel in WDW. :thumbsup2 We've stayed at the Beach Club before (loved it), but not the Yacht Club. I'm wondering if we should switch to the Yacht Club...... Anyone stay at the Boardwalk before? Will we regret not staying at the Yacht Club???

I have not stayed at the Boardwalk before, but I was considering it with this current promotion of 35% off the room rate. However what swayed me back to YC was Stormalong Bay. The pool area at BC/YC is just so incredible... I've seen the pool area at Boardwalk, and frankly, it's scary. I mean, huge clowns terrorizing small children scary. And not nearly as fun a facility.

To be fair, the Boardwalk pool area is modeled after Luna Park in Sydney, Australia, and the clown entrance is scary there too.

I would rate Boardwalk as a slightly better location than YC (closer to DHS by walking and just as close to Epcot and Swolphin) but the pool pulled me back to YC.

Great info, thanks! Decisions, decisions! :thumbsup2

I'm at WDW right now, staying at CSR. I was able to apply my bounceback offer to my exciting YC reservation in October for a garden view, yay! :-) Saved $333 for a 2-night stay!

Interesting... I thought it was modeled after Luna Park Steeplechase circa 1903 from Coney Island, NY. Actually I thought that whole Boardwalk area is modeled after Coney Island Boardwalk.

Thinking of booking the Albatross Cruise for my DD5 and DS10. Any reviews?

My son loved it. He went twice before he aged out. They really get the kids in the spirit of finding the treasure and chasing away Captain Stinkyfoot. :) it's a lot of fun. When he went they got to go into World Showcase before it opened in the morning. He thought that was one of the coolest things about it!!

I think I have some reviews on the first page -the ameneties (Post 5) I think.

Thank you both! Very helpful!

I asked this over on the theme park board but haven't received a response so was wondering if any of you know. Do you know if kids are allowed to wear swim vests at the waterparks similar to how they can in SAB and on the SAB slide. We are staying at the BC in October and get a free waterpark day as part of our package and would love to take advantage of it but would probably only want to if my girls can wear swim vests.
Thanks!

I didn't know there was another Luna Park! You might well be right. It could be the Sydney park is based on that too.

Dee....

We've decided to upgrade to CL in October but had to switch from BC to the YC due to availability. When you get a moment, can you revise the BOG list for me? Same dates (10/19-10/23).

Thanks so much!!!

Based on the opening years I think Luna in Coney is the original... but at the same time I never knew there was a Luna Park in Sidney!

Interesting fact for sure!!

I just had to share. We are now paid in full!!! May 18th please hurry up and get here!!!!

I do have a question what is everyone's thoughts about checking in online? We have only done it once and our room was ready and we were upgraded but this is when we stayed at WL. We have never stayed at YC and I really want to get a good room location.

Thanks for any advice.

We did online check in for the BC and our room was ready when we checked in at 11am. We also got our request of a full balcony. It was the only request we made. :thumbsup2 But we also checked in on a Wednesday, which probably played a role in getting what we wanted. :)
