Who's Turn Is It To Throw Up Today? A Feb 2014 Wedding TR - New TR link 10/27!!

Awesome pictures with Mickey, you both look SO happy and that's what Disney is all about :) I love the sweatshirt you bought!

Because of all the character movement, it seems that the wait time for Mickey has increased. Getting him away from the princesses has a lot to do with it I think, plus he TALKS!!! But you know, despite the slight annoyance of increased wait times, it warms my heart a bit to see this. It always bothered me that Mickey... MICKEY!!!... had 5 and 10 minute waits while the princesses had an hour.

Aww it really is something special to meet Mickey and your photos capture that perfectly.

Oooh, I like that Sweatshirt.

Great update, Ariana.

I'm still not sold on the talking Mickey so we've not seen him. I think I'll wait until I have grandkids to do that.

But I love the pictures with you and your Mom with talking Mickey.

Did I hear right that they are getting rid of that parade?

Nice purchases at the Emporium. If you come here, you could wear the sweatshirt now...it's already cold. :(

I have that same picture frame. :)

I have gotten seriously behind, but I am going to try to catch up.

Love your meeting with Talking Mickey. Great pics of you and your mom. That looks so fun!

Yum - that cupcake looks delish! And who doesn't love dole whip?

I love that frame you got. Very cute!

And your sweat shirt is super cute too!

Awesome pics with Talking Mickey. I bet that would be something to hear him speak.

Love your shopping! That picture frame is just gorgeous. And congrats on getting a Pluto pin!

It really was an excellent meet and I was so pleased with the amount of pictures the PP photographer took. Sometimes when it's two adults they don't seem to take as many.

Well in October, the wait time was never less than 75 minutes for Mickey but he had just started talking. I think the princesses wait times were a bit longer because they spent a lot of time talking to the guests where Mickey used to be just a huge and photo.

Aww it really is something special to meet Mickey and your photos capture that perfectly.

It really was a very special meet!

Oooh, I like that Sweatshirt.

I had a feeling you would.

Great update, Ariana.

I'm still not sold on the talking Mickey so we've not seen him. I think I'll wait until I have grandkids to do that.

I was a little skeptical too but it turned out to be wonderful. I've always been one that wants to try everything at least once for myself as my opinion is often times different than other peoples. I say go for it if you see a short line! If you don't like it you don't have to go back.

But I love the pictures with you and your Mom with talking Mickey.

That PP photographer was wonderful! He got some really great shots.

Did I hear right that they are getting rid of that parade?

No, it's staying, they are just changing it up a bit. I don't even think it's going to close at all, it will just change overnight.

Nice purchases at the Emporium. If you come here, you could wear the sweatshirt now...it's already cold. :(

I saw what it's like up north right now, brrrrr! It's finally getting cooler here we have highs in the low 80s and lows in the 60s. Yep that's cool fall weather for Atlanta. :rotfl:

I have that same picture frame. :)

I actually have two of that one myself. I have one on my shelf at work with the picture from this trip and then I have another one at home on my fireplace mantle with Mom and I from our 2010 trip.

I have gotten seriously behind, but I am going to try to catch up.

No worries, I haven't visited your TR since the beginning of July! I've been slowly catching up the last two weeks so I will make it back there eventually.

Love your meeting with Talking Mickey. Great pics of you and your mom. That looks so fun!

It was a lot of fun and I was very pleased with the amount of photos the PP guy took.

Yum - that cupcake looks delish! And who doesn't love dole whip?

The cupcake was very good. As for Dole Whips, well I am one that doesn't love them. For me it really has to be something chocolate.

I love that frame you got. Very cute!

Thanks, I love all of the Disney frames, they are all so cute.

And your sweat shirt is super cute too!

Almost cool enough to wear it now!

Awesome pics with Talking Mickey. I bet that would be something to hear him speak.

It really was something to hear! And the pictures the PP photographer took were wonderful.

Love your shopping! That picture frame is just gorgeous. And congrats on getting a Pluto pin!

I was so excited when I opened the pack and Pluto was in there. There were 16 total designs so I had about 1 chance in 3 to get him.

As you can probably guess by the title we were hopping over to Epcot for the rest of the day. It was probably a little after 3 pm when we headed out of MK and I knew that the Monorail was down for the afternoon so we headed towards the Ferry Boat. But all the boats were closed because of the wind. I had a little moment where I was like “What the Heck, how do we get there?” but then I asked a CM and he directed us to the busses. We ended up taking a bus to the TTC and then we hopped onto the Monorail to get to Epcot.

I felt bad for the people staying at the Poly and Grand Floridian because they had to take a bus from MK to the TTC and then another bus from the TTC to their resort. Talk about inconvenient!

Pictures from the ride over to Epcot.

When we got to Epcot it was then that we realized we should have had the stuff we bought at MK sent back to the resort. I still can’t remember what Mom bought but she had a pretty big bag. So we splurged and got a locker. I’m realizing now that we took no PP pictures all day except for the ones in the Mickey meet and greet.

We were planning on heading into the Countries for some shopping but we stopped first at the Art Store to look around. We didn’t buy anything and when we came out of the store I happened to look towards Spaceship Earth and saw my Aunt Esther, Uncle Jim, Sydney and Kevin headed our way! We knew they would be at Epcot that night for dinner but were still shocked to just run into them like that. They were headed the same way as us so we walked together. We stopped in Club Cool for a minute but I apparently didn’t take any pictures. We tried to get Kevin with the Beverly drink but they have now added a segment about it to the video on the Magical Express so he already knew it was bad. Such a bummer for Disney to ruin that little bit of fun.

We wandered through the countries but didn’t stop much. I only took a few pictures.

I tried to get everyone to stop on the bridge between France and England for a PP picture but my Aunt said they had already done that shot so we moved on.

When we made it to Japan I said I wanted to do Pick a Pearl to get a ring so we went in there. First of all we looked at the settings to see what options I had. I have very small fingers and it’s hard for me to find rings in my size. They showed me the options I could get in my size and there was one I liked.

I handed my camera off to Sydney and she did a good job taking a series of pictures. And no I have no idea who the guy taking pictures right behind me is.

I can’t remember what size the Pearl was but I think it was close to 7 millimeters. Not too big and not too small. So funny story before I show the finished product. When I was looking at the settings, the one I liked best had hearts on it. My aunt said right away that I couldn’t get that one because you can’t buy yourself jewelry with hearts on it. Well I certainly don’t agree with that rule but unfortunately that one didn’t come in my size. So we picked a different one. I honestly didn’t notice till I got home but check out the design on the side of it in the second picture.

Yep it has hearts on it! Looking straight down at the rings in the case, you couldn’t really tell they were hearts. So despite my aunts “heart rule” I still got hearts on my ring.

Mom and I had a dinner ADR fast approaching at Via Napoli and the rest of our group had one at Tutto Italia so we headed on towards Italy. We parted ways and said maybe we would meet up later even though Mom and I were not planning on doing so. Esther can be a bit trying at times and we’d already had enough of her. If you tell her the sky is blue she will insist its green and argue with you for hours. I’m pretty good at ignoring her but I did get into a bit of a discussion when she was positive that her son Jordan had walked underground from MK all the way to Epcot on a tour he did.

Mom and I didn’t have to wait long to be seated at Via Napoli. Since the restaurant is known for pizza we both decided that was what we were going to order. I got plain cheese:

And Mom got mushroom:

For dessert I got chocolate gelato and Mom got Pistachio.

We both really enjoyed our pizza and gelato and I would definitely eat there again.

After we finished I needed to head back to Japan to get my ring but Mom wanted to stop in Karamell-Kuche in Germany to pick up something to take home for my Great Aunt. The line was really long so I walked through the Christmas store and glass store while she waited. Once again I have no idea what she purchased.

Then we turned around and went back to Japan to get my ring and then onto Canada to pick up a shirt for my husband Jim. I had photographed all the shirts the first night we were in Epcot and he looked at them and picked the one he wanted. He loves t-shirts but is very picky so I wanted him to choose his own. Here’s the one I got him.

We walked through Mouse Gears on the way out and I spotted these cute mugs that were new at that time.

Not sure why there wasn’t one for Hollywood Studios.

We headed out then in order to beat the Illuminations crowd and caught a bus pretty quickly back to the resort. When we go to the lobby we ran into a bunch of our group that were headed to DTD. The kids looked tired and grumpy and Mom and I had yet another early morning coming up so we decided not to join them. Morgan and I finally took a moment though to pose with our custom bags before she headed out.

You seemed to have gotten a lot done at Epcot. I love the ring you got to go with the pearl.

The pizzas at Via Napoli look fantastic. As does the gelato.

I want those mugs!

Great bags.

Super cute bags! Love them!

Those mugs of the different park icons are really neat. I don't think I've ever noticed them before.

My mom is currently fostering 2 Chinese Crested. I told her to keep the two fosters and swap them with the two she has. (nasty little buggers) :rotfl:

We did do a lot considering we were only planning on dinner that night. I love my new ring and wear it quite often.

The pizzas at Via Napoli look fantastic. As does the gelato.

It was very good. I highly recommend dinner there.

I want those mugs!

They were very cute. I'm not a coffee drinker or I might have gotten one of them myself.

Great bags.

Thanks, D (who is DMGeurts here on the DIS) does great work.

Super cute bags! Love them!

D does great work doesn't she!

Those mugs of the different park icons are really neat. I don't think I've ever noticed them before.

That was the first time I've seen them. I don't remember seeing them again in May but I wasn't really looking either.

Via - LOVE that place. The pizza is SOOOOOOO good!

It was very good!

Pick a pearl is awesome. They have to be the most enthusiastic CM's in all of Disney World!

They do get into it don't they? Even though I don't really need any more pearl jewelry I'll probably do it again since it's just so much fun.

I love seeing Epcot from the monorail. It's so neat!

I do too. I'm trying to figure out how to fit a ride in on my December trip. I might just have to take a break on my Epcot day and ride around in a circle. ::yes::

i am CAUGHT UP!!!!

Yay! Glad you stopped by.

shh don't tell the others.. your is the only one! i knew you have been busy figured this would be the only one i can get done.. LOL!

Your secret is safe with me. But I will tell you the only reason I didn't post much on this one is because I finished my other TR! Did 10 updates all at once to get it done and over with!

WOW that's a ton of dogs for one shelter and huge congrats on getting most adopted!!! :thumbsup2

It was way too many for our little shelter. I felt so bad for the staff who were working 7 days a week, 12 - 16 hours each day. I'm really relieved it's finally over.

My mom is currently fostering 2 Chinese Crested. I told her to keep the two fosters and swap them with the two she has. (nasty little buggers) :rotfl:

Those guys are interesting! I don't think we've ever had one in at the shelter.

I love your update. I love the pictures like always. I am also a huge fan of Sci-fi. can't tell you our experience.. but you;ll read about it soon enough. popcorn::

I can't wait to read all about your trip!

Thanks for posting about the KTTW!!! i'm still in the fence about taking one. I know the kids won't appreciate it yet so maybe when they are older..
I love that backpack!!! I almost bought that SAME WATCH!!!

Well, the kids have to be 16 before they are allowed to take the tour so hopefully by then they will be appreciate it. I love my watch, I wear it almost every weekend.

I love the ring you picked out, and such a nice pearl to go with it! :) I don't agree that you can't by yourself jewelry with hearts on it!!

Me neither. My aunt has some weird notions at times!

I'm glad it was an enjoyable dinner!

We did really enjoy dinner although as you'll see in the next post, I'm not sure Mom enjoyed it later that night.

Cute pic of you and Morgan with your bags.

That picture did turn out really well considering we were hurrying so she could catch the bus to DTD.

Hello everyone! I leave for Disney in less than three weeks so I decided to sit down this weekend and finish writing this TR. I've got six more updates for you then one quick PTR post for the October trip and we will be all finished! I plan on posting three updates this week and three next week to get it all done before I leave!

Friday, February 14th started off at 1:30 am in a very bad way as I woke up to the sound of puking. Mom threw up most of the night but when our alarm went off, she got up determined to make it to our CRT breakfast that we had been looking forward to all week.

But unfortunately by the time she got out of the shower, she had to lay down for a while again. We admitted defeat at that point and I finished getting ready and headed to the concierge desk to cancel the breakfast. I told the CM that I needed to cancel and before I even started to explain why she gave me a sympathetic look and asked me who was sick. I told her my Mom was throwing up and she said it had been going around like wildfire that week. She cancelled the ADR and waived the fee without a second thought. Even though I was planning to pay out of pocket for the breakfast, I hadn’t paid for this one ahead of time because we were on the dining plan.

I went to the food court then and grabbed my usually breakfast and for Mom I got some Ritz crackers and an orange juice. She had said she didn’t want anything but I didn’t want her to get dehydrated like Jocelyn did.

When I got back to the room she was still determinedly trying to get ready with a lot of rest periods. I ate my breakfast and then Mom told me to go ahead and go to a park. She knew I was planning on upgrading to an AP and wanted me to get that done. I decided on HS to head to because it was close and well, TSM.

Because we had been up so early I still made it before rope drop and boy was it crowded!

While I was waiting to get in I texted John and Jocelyn to let them know Mom was sick now. My phone rang almost at once and it was John. He called to let me know that he had been up all night puking too! Oh boy, now I was the only one of our little group that hadn’t gotten it.

They let us in right at 9 am and I joined the mad rush to TSM. Here’s my blurry line pictures since I was walking while taking them.

I pretty much walked right onto the ride and got one of my best scores ever.

Best in Vehicle too!

The wait time said 40 minutes when I got done so I decided to skip another ride. The extra ride this morning was totally unexpected so I was satisfied.

Instead I headed down Sunset Blvd for another favorite.

It was about 10 minutes before I got to board the elevator. I still haven’t quite figured out the timing of the photo.

I had picked HS for one more reason besides closeness and TSM. If you remember, the CRT breakfast was supposed to be my Mom’s Christmas gift. Well now I felt horrible because she didn’t get to enjoy her gift. She had seen a pair of earrings earlier in the week at HS so I did some shopping next and bought them for her. They were really cute silver Mickey earrings and we had looked for them at both the Emporium and Mouse Gears and had not found them. I was glad to see that the store at HS still had them.

Next I headed down to the front of the park and got in line at Guest Services to get my AP! I was pretty excited and posted a picture of it on Facebook with the caption “It’s about time I got one of these”.

It was a little after 10 am at that time and the park was getting super crowded. Our original plan for the day was to head to MK to join Morgan and the kids for some rides. I called Mom at that point and she said she was almost ready and still wanted to try to go to MK. So I headed out to the buses to go back to the resort. It took a while for a bus to come, I don’t think they run too many back to the resorts at that time in the morning.

Mom was ready when I got back so after I gave her the earrings, we slowly make our way to the bus stop. She wasn’t throwing up anymore but she was feeling very drained and shaky so we really took our time.

oh my... I am so sorry everyone is getting sick!!!!
Glad you got the things you wanted done!!! ::yes::

Oh no :( I'm so sorry your mom got sick and that you had to cancel CRT, I know you were both looking forward to that :( Also sorry to hear that John got sick too.

I'm glad you were able to squeeze in some rides while you went to get your ticket upgraded! And it was nice of you to pick up those earrings for mom.

Sorry your mom got sick and that John did too. Hope you managed to stay puke-free.

Pity it came at the expense of CRT. Maybe that can be your excuse for a re-do vacay.

It certainly was a rough end to the week but it was nice that I got one more ride on TSM and TOT.

Oh no :( I'm so sorry your mom got sick and that you had to cancel CRT, I know you were both looking forward to that :( Also sorry to hear that John got sick too.

We really were looking forward to it and were devastated when we had to cancel. But we have a ADR for there in less than three weeks so we will finally get our meal in!

I'm glad you were able to squeeze in some rides while you went to get your ticket upgraded! And it was nice of you to pick up those earrings for mom.

It was nice to steal a few extra rides that morning. It sure felt like a consolation prize but I was glad to get something for Mom.

Sorry your mom got sick and that John did too. Hope you managed to stay puke-free.

Luckily I never did get sick although I stressed a bit about it the rest of the trip.

Pity it came at the expense of CRT. Maybe that can be your excuse for a re-do vacay.

It was our excuse! Mom and I are headed back in less than three weeks mainly because she wanted a do-over. We have a lunch ADR at CRT.

This will probably be the last update this week even though I promised a total of three. My Grandma (Mom's mom) passed away last night. She's been really sick the last month and I had been expecting the call any day. My Mom is one of the most stoic people I know but I also know that deep down she is really hurting right now. Please keep her (and me) in your thoughts the next few days. I'll be flying up to PA either tomorrow or Friday for the funeral. The ugly selfish side of me is slightly relieved because I was really worried about her illness affecting our Mom and Daughter trip in a few weeks. Continuing with the TR update....

We made pretty good time to MK and wouldn’t you know, the bus dropped us at the farthest bus stop from the entrance. I offered to push Mom in one of the complementary wheelchairs but she said she would be fine.

The park was an absolute madhouse. In all my trips to Disney I have never seen MK this crowded. It was Valentine’s Day and they were doing some special meet and greets. I sent Morgan a text to see where they were but I didn’t hear from her right away. Mom saw Pluto and said I needed to go meet him since I hadn’t seen him yet this week. So we found her a bench near the bathrooms and I went to get in line. Unfortunately they had just cut the line off so I didn’t get to meet him. About that time Morgan answered her text and said that they were in Adventureland near the entrance to Pirates. Jacob had done the Richard Petty experience that morning and both girls were doing the Pirates League. Mom and I were supposed to meet them to watch but we didn’t make it in time.

We made our way back to the Pirates League and found everyone. Morgan and Steve were there with their 3 kids, Jacob, Jordyn and Kennedy, as was Esther and Jim and Jordan, Abby and Sadie. Jordyn looked very cute in her pirate gear and proceeded to show us everything. Kennedy had refused to do it and was napping in the stroller. I asked Morgan what they were doing next and she said they were going to get some lunch then they had some FP+ for the afternoon. I have to admit I got pretty pissed at that point because I had asked Morgan repeatedly to let me know what FP+s they had for that day so I could make the same ones for Mom and me. She keep telling me that they weren’t going to make any. Mom could tell that I was mad so when they said they were going to Columbia Harbor House, she asked me if I really wanted to eat there two days in a row. I said no so we parted ways and headed to Pecos Bills instead. Mom did not want anything so she went and sat on a bench by the entrance to the dining room while I ordered. They were seating everyone so she didn’t have to go and look for a table.

I got a burger (plain with just ketchup) and fries:

And chocolate cake for dessert.

Mom had brought her crackers so she forced a few of those down and sipped some water while I ate. As we sat there, I logged onto the MDE app and made three FP+ for myself, Space Mountain from 1:45 – 2:45 pm, Buzz Lightyear 2:45 – 3:45 pm and Dumbo 4 – 5 pm.

We slowly made our way through Frontierland, stopping at the pin store and also to watch the Ho Down for a few minutes. I suggested County Bears but Mom was afraid to be trapped in a show in case she needed the bathroom again.

We made it around to Tomorrowland and just to show you the crazy crowds, I took this picture.

Every inch of the park looked like that.

I found Mom a bench in the shade and then I decided I had better cancel our dinner reservation at Captain’s Grille. I knew at that point that Mom would never make it. I tried to call but could not get through so I left Mom in Tomorrowland and made my way back down to Guest Services which of course had a huge line. They CM that waited on me wasn’t quite a gracious as the one that morning but in the end she did cancel and waived the fee.

As I exited Guest Services, I noticed that Mary, Bert and the Penguin were out meeting and surprisingly there wasn’t much of a line. I really should have hopped in but I was still a little shy of doing face character meets on my own so I headed back down Main Street again.

I got back, checked on Mom and then headed to Space Mountain to use my FP+. The standby wait time was 70 minutes. I got held up a little in the FP+ line by a foreign family that did not know how to use the FP+ system. They did not speak much English and the CM there was having a hard time explaining it to them. He finally got them to move off to the side so the people behind them could get in the line.

I decided that a tribute to my husband and his constant Devil Horns was in order for the ride photo.

I took two horrible photos on the way out, one of them was a total accident, but I’m including them in this update since I seem to have so few photos of this part of the day.

I bet you’ve never seen a photo of the exit ramp of Space Mountain before!

I checked back with Mom and I could tell she wasn’t going to make it till my third FP+ so I went ahead and changed the Dumbo one till 8-9 pm and then told her I was going to ride Buzz then take her back to the room.

The FP+ line for Buzz was insane and I ended up waiting almost 20 minutes to get on the ride. I was pretty happy with my score.

I never take the time to pose for this ride photo as I’m way too concerned about my score.

We headed out of the park after that. Mom stopped at one of the carts right before the exit and used a snack credit to get a bottle of water. She was forcing herself to drink constantly so she didn’t get dehydrated. Would you believe that right after we went under the train station, we ran into Morgan and her gang again? Well Morgan wasn’t there, she was in the bathroom throwing up. Yep, third one down that day. And they were flying out that night poor thing.

We all rode back to the resort together. As we were waiting for the bus, I had my first sighting of one of the double buses or whatever they are called.

We didn’t ride one of those though. Little Jordyn sat with me on the way back and she told me all about the fun she had that week.

When we got back, we said bye to the rest of the gang as they were catching the DME shortly and Mom and I stopped in the store to get her some Gatorade then headed back to the room. We had a little window decoration when we got back at 5 pm.

Oh Ariana I am so sorry about your Grandma  Please tell your Mom and the rest of the family I am
sending along my condolences too. It's not selfish to feel what you are feeling. It's a normal reaction under the circumstances. I'm glad she is now no longer suffering.

I'm sorry about your grandma. You and your family are in my thoughts :(

That's a bummer about Morgan scheduling FP without telling you. But sorry that she ended up getting sick too, on departure day nonetheless. And wow the park really does look packed.
