Video Debut of Canadian Lumberjack Show

Debut performance of the Canada Pavilion's new act - Canadian Lumberjack Show. October 5 2014 which replaced Off Kilter, the popular Canadian Celtic Rock Band

Do you think this is better, worse or about the same as what was there before

Think I need to add my own view - having now watched this Lumberjack video all the way through - and also having reminded myself of Off Kilter (video here http://youtu.be/UFyCP9WXyCg)

I Last saw Off Kilter for real in 2012 - during food and wine (which may have helped sell the ambience of their celtic rock to me)

But I have to say that my initial feeling is that this new lumberjack show is not a patch on what was there before, and whereas I may have stopped for a while, bought a drink, and enjoyed the musical ambience - with this show, I think i'd be bored by it after a short time, and probably walk by.

I also am not saying that Off Kilter should have stayed particularly either - but perhaps a new musical act would have had wider appeal to keep the crowds entertained and add to the atmosphere.

But I realise ones mans nectar is another mans poison - so it will be interesting to see how popular this replacement becomes. Gut feeling is that it will not grow the cult following that Off Kilter gained.

These guys are certainly skilled at what they do, so I take nothing away from their talents and skills...however, as I pretty much always watch entertainment in passing, I would prefer to pass by and catch a few tunes...this is just not my thing to stop at watch at Disney. I guess, however, that Disney is full of stuff that is "not my thing" to one person or another. Oh well, still prefer hearing the music.

I'd rather listen to a singing group. I see enough lumberjacks in my backyard. lol

I didn't watch the whole video, since I'll see it live in a few weeks.
I would expect the show to be tweaked as they monitor crowd appeal. Really they need to skip the intros and open with something more amazing than ax throwing. The lumberjacks can be identified later throughout the show.

We bought an Off Kilter CD once. Won't be buying this (if there is one). So did Disney accountants figure in lost revenue from music sales?

I would actually stop and watch this, unlike off kilter which I've never been able to stand more than 30 seconds of.

Thanks for posting the video. Now that I've seen it we won't be wasting our time watching this show. I guess it gives me more time to enjoy a couple of Boddingtons at Rose and Crown.

I found it pricelessly ironic that they are playing a recording of Celtic-sounding fiddle during the various segments. :rotfl2:

OMG this is the most boring thing EVER. I will be rushing past the annoying sound of chainsaws as quickly as possible and hoping I can still hear some music in the UK. Arrrgh. This is disturbing.

ugh, as a Canadian I would much rather have kept Off Kilter. Lumberjacks are maybe a BC thing and that's it. This show seems boring and unnecessarily long.

Where as all of Canada appreciates a good celtic tune, seriously no matter where you go in Canada if Home For A Rest comes on at the bar/pub where ever, literally every single person will stop and sing it.

Just my opinion, obviously.

Wow. That is Off Kilter's replacement? Not hardly.

I don't know what else to say.

Thanks for posting the video. I usually didn't stop and watch the entire Off Kilter show but I did watch a few songs or enjoyed listening as I was walking by. Now I will just walk by as this definately doesn't interest me at all.

Whoever commented that Disney was likely going for cheaper with the new acts, nailed it. Reusing that stage seems like a bad idea. It is way too small for a show like this, so it seems way neutered.

Normally I'm not this negative, but I don't think this will last long at Epcot, and probably will silently go away when contracts are up, and probably replaced with nothing when it does.

The guys do seem talented, though. And the flow will probably improve. If they had a proper stage setup it could be a lot better. I.e. Disney properly supported what this show needs.
As a show, sme kids will like it, but considering the more adult nature of world showcase (aka "The boring part of epcot" for most kids) so I doubt it will be popular.

Disney, you can do better.

If they can trim the chatter and add more wow factor, I think kids would love it. Much more than they did the music group.

I'm not a fan of either, a walk by and glance is all either would get from me, but I can see where this could be of more interest to kids especially.
