Hi everyone! I'm looking for some BC/YC advice for our upcoming stay (5/28-6/3). Currently we have a reservation through a travel agency at the BC. It's a great deal at $1906.00 (tax included) for 6 nights in a standard view BC room. I am not crazy about that view category, but it's all that's offered. So, I was just looking at the spring offer on the Disney site and see that we can get a Garden/Woods view at the YC for $2,244. That's not much more, but aren't there renovations going on at the YC? Since we have never stayed at an EPCOT resort and have no frame of reference, I am asking the experts on this thread. Would you rather have a standard view at BC or garden view at YC? We have 2 boys, ages 12 and 9 and really are excited about the proximity to EPCOT and of course SAB. Any thoughts or advice is appreciated.
Thanks so much!!

Okay, Disney planning geek that I am, this issue has been on my mind lately. I know I'm a bit early in bringing it up, but I wanted to collect the opinions of the BC/YC experts on this one!
We will be staying at BC in June. It is my understanding that the Frozen (formerly Maelstrom) ride will open in May. I am expecting this ride to be insanely popular, to be a Tier 1 FP, and to likely open with Future World at 9 am, due to said insane popularity. My question is, if this ride becomes a 'rope drop rush', will entering from the International Gateway give us any advantage, as compared to the people at the front gate? Also, which way do you think would be better to get there from around the World Showcase? I know the route south past Canada and then around to Mexico is shorter than going north past Italy and Japan, but going south may dump us into the rope drop crowds, which might slow us down.
So, what do you guys think? What is the best route to Norway/Arendelle and the frozen ride at rope drop?
Hi there! I have very similar circumstances. We also booked through a travel agency (I can tell by the price that it's the same one ) -- our dates are 5/26 - 6/4, also in a standard view at BC. We also have 2 boys (who will be 13 and 9). We have stayed in the Epcot resorts/Boardwalk area many times, but we've never stayed at YC and we've only stayed at BC once. That time, we had a garden view there (it was facing the wooded area separating the BC from Epcot). I'm also hesitant about the standard view because I do spend time on my balcony (and I just had the most lovely view at the Grand Floridian in November), but I've decided not to sweat it. I'm going to request a full-sized balcony and hope for the best. In your situation, I wouldn't switch for over $300 more. I think the renovated room will outweigh the chance of having a nicer view.
Wow, thank you! How funny that we are practically in the same boat. I've decided to stay put at BC. I'm so looking forward to trying an EPCOT resort. We had dinner at Cape May on our last trip and I fell in love on the spot with the beautiful grounds. I am now going to focus my worries on room requests. Thanks again for your input. Maybe I will see you around the BC. I'll be the one in the Mickey shirt.
I would always trust the info on this thread over the people who answer the phone at wdw. It shouldn't be that way, but I've learned that is just how it is.The only exception is if I'm calling the club level ipo.I just called to ask a CM about the YC renovations because I am not seeing anything online. The CM said at this time we don't have any renovations scheduled except for Stormalong Bay. Am I missing some inside information?
The YC's Concierge Club refurb completed about three weeks ago. Following the BC's construction schedule, over the past year, or so, the Club level guest rooms on 5 will be worked on next. The construction area is blocked from public access, and work only is performed during daytime hours, after 9:00 a.m., or so. They work from the top floor, down.I just called to ask a CM about the YC renovations because I am not seeing anything online. The CM said at this time we don't have any renovations scheduled except for Stormalong Bay. Am I missing some inside information?
What is the length of the daybed? Can an adult sleep on it well enough?
Here is the tag from the daybed for the person who asked. Hope this helps.
Good detective work, Dee!
Flexsteel is a very large manufacturer of furniture for the contract (commercial) market.
According to the tag info, here is the model of sleeper sofa, which is manufactured for hospitality and senior living resident rooms:

Flexsteel has always manufactured very comfortable sleeper sofas.
Welcome to the thread that goes the extra mile for you!
Here are a couple of posts from August
If you click on the links in shoreward's post you will get all of the size/dimension info you are looking for.
I slept in the daybed in August 2014, and it was fine, but I'm every inch of 5 feet tall. Reports from regular-sized adults, including our monkey roommate Rafiki, are that the sleeper is very comfortable.
Thanks for the help so far! We are traveling May 29-June 4 (ugh- I know, Memorial Day week- nephew's 5th birthday so no choice). I am wondering if this is a typically busy time at Yacht Club? Rooms are hard to come by at the moment. We do like to stay Club Level- will more rooms become available or once they are booked they typically stay booked? Also, I have a Deluxe room at the moment- which is nice though the current discount doesn't do much for the price at the moment. We were thinking of booking a Lagoon View Club Level. Thanks!
If you could add us to the roll call, we will be at Yacht Club May 24-30! So excited!!!!
If you could add us too to the Be Our Guest list....will be at BCV 8/13-21
We've booked a 1 Bedroom CL suite at BC for Oct 1-13. I'm wondering if I want to change this to a regular CL room. We love having the two rooms, my sons tend to sleep better when we are not all in the same room. However, what I love about CL is being able to walk down the hallway to the lounge and there is not a 1 Bdrm suite on the CL floor. Has anyone stayed in a 1 Bdrm suite at BC? Is the extra space worth the hallway walks and elevator rides? Would love your thoughts and opinions on this.
I just booked a 1 bedroom villa for Nov. 4 - 8. We were there years ago and finally making it back. Can't wait to be back.
I know construction hasn't even started, but do you think it will still be going on in November?
Wahoo...Beach Club Dreams coming true! Booked a Girls Running Trip at the Beach Club November 4-9! Beyond excited for this stay!
We'll be back for our 2nd YC stay in Feb-Mar. We're doing kind of a crazy split stay, Poly for 1 night, YC for 3 nights, and WL for 2 nights, but I think it will work out perfectly (and minimize our bus time). We originally booked a garden view, but I was just able to get a lagoon/pool view via Orbitz for about the same price. We're also going to be visiting during the start of Flower and Garden, which I'm really excited about (especially since we can stroll over to Epcot in the evening, and eat from some of the booths!).
Thanks to all for all the helpful info in this thread!
We are staying at the BC 1/7-10 for marathon weekend. Have not received any notice.
