Is This a Sign Of Things To Come?

Consider this idea .... the $15 Resort Fee is the LARGE RUMOR based on virtually one twitter post. I have seen no one follow up that they did the same survey. I've done crazy surveys that never came to pass. So the RUMOR of a resort fee is the only thing keeping EMH alive because it claims to be a benefit of paying it. Maybe Disney has surveyed enough to decide NO Resort Fee, instead there will be NO free EMH and all extra hours will be a paid ticket. This thread is about Early Morning Fantasyland Dining ...... still strange. But to be creative and create something that fits maybe it's a deal of eat at BOG (full price for all) and then get an hour EMH with it for select Fantasyland rides. I see it selling.
.

Well the resort fee is still a rumor, but it came from more than one Twitter post. Several posters on the thread here stated they had received the survey and one quoted a lot of specifics from the survey. Your theory is interesting that they were floating the fee idea but have maybe gone this route instead. . . I don't see how free EMH or $15 resort fee EMH can peacefully coexist with paid early and late hours. Well. . . Maybe I can - see below

I knew it would just be a matter of time before demand to go to Disney gets so high that they would offer more experiences to help "avoid" the crowds.

I just think if it is successful they will just phase out EMH because why offer something you can PAY for one day, but get virtually the same experience (for free) the next day?

Local venues near me have a once a month free day/night and they are a mad house. Obviously a lot of locals take the chance to go when it's free, and lots of folks (like me) avoid it like the plague and go instead on a calm day and pay for it. Perhaps this is how those two types of crowds get captured.

I'm three weeks out and I'm not so sure these other changes won't affect my trip - one of the new After Hours ones will - it irks me that they can introduce them with such little time to adjust plans...
Did you switch your MK day? I am thinking of doing that but the only day I can switch it with would be a Saturday so not sure What to do. Saturday may be busier all day but according to the crowd chart it is the same as the Thursday would have been per after hours so......

In addition to what @yulilin3 posted yesterday, I just found this posted on the Dibb (posted by SMAX - source unknown but SMAX's info generally seems to be reliable).

I said it was a "LARGE RUMOR" and honestly I think it really spread like twitter wildfire due to one person posting one picture, which was posted on here. I don't recall others claiming to have gotten it although I am sure the guy who posted wasn't the only one. I just think it got a life of it's own and projected by many as happening ...

I think they float lots of idea on surveys to see reaction and if they don't get the answer they want - they will find another way to the same/like outcome. I think they are NUTS for trying to have Morning Magic, Extra Magic Hours and PreParkOpening ADRS ... recipe for disaster. These days guests are already angry and exhibiting horrible behavior in the parks, it's getting worse and stuff like this will escalate it.

This will only effect the PO ADR people negatively because they will likely not be allowed to get in any pre-opening rides on the three rides available in this package. I suspect the PO ADRs will still be available, so those people will still be able to get their "emptier park" photos, and they will likely still be able to rush out of their meals and get in line for rides, they just won't be able to get on early. This was never something that was guaranteed anyway...just search back for old threads here with thousands of responses along the lines of "pre-opening 7DMT ride not guaranteed."

I think they are offering the breakfast at Pinocchio's because they are adding experiences and plan to,leave all the reservations at BOG available as they are now. Why would they decrease the amount of people spending money to be in the park before it opens by filling up those spots that are typically already full?

Again, we have a situation that doesn't need to effect the park attendee at all. If you don't want to have the experience, don't buy it! It is as simple as that. They aren't "nickel and diming" by offering more paid experiences, they are just offering more paid options. It isn't necessary to participate at all. As I said in the other thread about DAH, it is just another option that you DON'T have to pay for. My family doesn't pay for the Keys to the Kingdom tour, a VIP tour, a fireworks cruise, dessert parties, Club Villan, or hard-ticket parties; yours doesn't need to either. Nickel and diming would be adding costs to your experience that you already pay for, the $15 resort fee being an example.

Again, the same people that are pi$$€d that "there is nothing new" and "when is Disney going to offer more" are now mad that there are more offerings and new options. Would you be mad and complaining if you could suddenly have a backstage tour with Figment in Future World for $250? Or get a tour with Rafiki walking through the Savannah for $189? No? Then why in world do you care about this? Either you'd like the option and you'll pay for it, or it isn't your cup of tea and you won't. End of story.
This will not only affect the early ADR people it will affect EVERYONE who normally go to the park At RD! Now the People who are let in at nine will have to compete with several thousands ALREADY in the park.

I do think there are enough planning quirks that are already hard for folks to keep track of for a vacation. Grasping the difference between resort-included EMH, paid Morning Magic, early ADRs at other restaurants, After Dark hours, regular park hours from one day to the next. . . It's going to require a big chart with check marks for all the include/excluded features like when you're buying online and using their compare feature!

Nickel and Diming us. That is what this is.
If $69 per person for the morning waffle and $149 for the evening ice cream is your definition of "nickels and dimes", then :worship:

Well the resort fee is still a rumor, but it came from more than one Twitter post.
Nothing to base this on, but the way I see it, a $15 charge is just waaaaaay too easy (and industry standard) for Disney to walk away from. A company that is willing to charge $69 and $149 for early and late access to the parks will not even blink at adding a $15 surcharge to its hotel rooms, especially when so many other hotels in the area already do the same thing. And in most cases, charge more. So even though the $15 is still languishing in the "rumor" stage, I can't imagine it not coming to fruition. Especially since the fee includes the cost of the Magical Express. They need to charge guests for that service because the price of gas has gone up so much lately. Oh. Wait a minute. Forget I said that.

Agree. I'm definitely in the camp that admits it's technically rumor, but I'd bet good money that it won't remain rumor for long. The price of gas joke still burns me up. . . . I assume it happened everywhere like it did in my city that pizza places and trash pickup (to name just two) added "fuel surcharge" or "delivery fees" when gas prices were sky-high, but guess what never went away, though gas is back to prices I haven't seen since my early 20's!

That resort fee will go the same way add it on because "everybody does it" and you can jack around with your advertised rates or the fee itself, you still get $xx from your customers that's practically unnoticed by them in all the details.

Ok, I hate to ask, but what if one of the 3 rides is having a problem that morning?
What if I paid over $300 for my family to do this (I won't, just saying) and we only get to ride Winnie the Pooh and Peter Pan and eat Mickey Waffles?
Will there be a riot? I feel so sorry for CMs if that ever happens

Another DISer brought up the possibility of long lines for breakfast. That could really eat into all of that time too.

YES, it's a sign of things to come. And this will continue as long as people somehow feel special when they give the greedy Disney corp. their money so they can feel special because they went to an "exclusive" event. If people stopped paying for this nonsense they couldn't keep eroding customer service and perks that were once something they "gave for free" to onsite guests (who have always been paying for it in higher hotel charges).

OP ... Did you call this or what?
Not sure what your asking but I noticed it when I was on late looking for info on ROL. Also with what Disney pulled about After hours on am on guard all the time now to see what else will affect our trip.

100% agreed. None of these exclusive experiences are needed to have a good time and ride everything you want.

My only issue with the early morning and night hours is the short amount of time they announced them in. I planned our days to avoid EMH, and now I have one of the evening dates on our MK day. It's not like we can just say okay and switch to a different park. Same with the morning hours. If you planned RD, now you have lost the benefit of your plan was to do PP and 7DMT.

the evening event won't affect crowds the morning one is a problem for rope drop, but still, it'll be better to go at rope drop for 7DMT .

because they want FREE options. Greedy Disney has enough money. their only interested in making shareholders happy. How many people here have a 401k? there is a good chance that if you do, you are one of Disney's shareholders.
