Tower of Terror Bar

Agree with you on this one. In this situation it would be hard to make it 21+, but I like how Trader Sam's is adult only (21+) after 8 p.m. But to your point I am shocked at the number of parents who plop their kid in a bar stool and then order a drink. I guess Florida doesn't have a law about under 21 sitting at the bar. I've witnessed parents all over Disney have their kid belly-up to the bar. My parents never did that for us. Several years ago I was in St. Louis and the bartender was explaining to a very upset Dad that his child could not sit in a bar stool at the bar that it was against the law.

But you may want to check the new bar out, Disney does offer a lot of fun mock-tails for those that are non-drinkers. So maybe they will have some fun fruity less-spirited concoctions
I know, it always amuses/annoys me that I can't have my drink with my feet dangling in the pool, but I can seat my kids at the bar!!! LOL

I don't know that that area will be the bar. Maybe my definition of bar is different, but most that I have been in have age requirements. I can't imagine having a lounge whose primary purpose is to serve alcoholic drinks (even if it has a few other things) will be what Disney has families filled with kids filing past as they exit the attraction. Not only is it awkward (I feel it would be hard to relax with 40 people walking by every 60 seconds), but the legality may be iffy depending on how Disney spins it all.

AFAIK, there's no 21 and over requirement to enter the Cove Bar at DLR. Just to order alcohol (they check id, and the policies say they only allow 2 drinks to be ordered / valid license.). I imagine this location would be treated similarly.

I was just about to ask this myself. This can go one of three ways: either "classic" cocktails from that era (Old Fashioneds and Martinis, for example); really weird themed cocktails with special FX like fog and stuff; or just a regular cart with like beer and stuff. I hope they go with one of the first two.
I wouldn't be surprised if they brought over some of the specialty drinks from Carthay Circle in DCA and rethemed the names to TOT specifically.

I am confused. That article on Fox says construction will "start" in the spring but nothing about it being opened soon. Has anyone been lately? Have they started working on it?

The first time I visited Pleasure Island, I was downright aghast at how freely and openly the alcohol flowed there. CM's were selling Jello shots right there in the streets, in front of Og and everybody. There was this one station where there was this big block of ice with a little trough carved in the middle of it - the purchaser would position her mouth at the bottom of the trough and the CM up at the top would pour the liquor down the trough - the ice would cool the alcohol as it slid down.

Wow, I forgot those things, probably because I partook of them! I often view videos of the Comedy Warehouse shows and the goings on in the Adventurer's Club, hours of stuff, just for the memories, but now I'm recalling the atmosphere out in the street, the live band and New Year's every night. It's incredible what's been lost.

We're going to the Studios either tomorrow or Wednesday. I will look around and see what's going on there for sure.

We were actually speaking to an Imaginear last evening at dinner in Disney Springs and he was talking about this bar. From the way he spoke, this will be opening sooner rather than later. They may even open without the food offerings to get the bar going as well he said.

This is going to be pretty cool hopefully. I for one am looking forward to seeing it when it's done and having a few adult beverages after the ride :)

I think this is actually a really cool idea and I'm pretty excited about it. ToT is my favorite ride at DHS. I think it would be really cool if they found a way to do a drink around DHS like one can drink around the world at Epcot. Perhaps start at ToT, go to the Derby, then have new bars in the new Star Wars and Toy Story lands. I mean, I'm still a big fan of drinking around Epcot and the Monorail crawl. But, it would be cool for those longer vacations if there were another option.

Also, although I'm sure it would be amazingly expensive (like everything else Disney). It would be cool if there were a ToT souvenir cup that could be purchased with your alcoholic beverage in it. Just saying,

I don't think anyone could actually afford to get drunk in a bar like this. It will be $55 themed cups of fruity mixtures with very little alcohol.

It's not legal in the state of Massachusetts for anyone under 21 to sit at a bar or in a "bar area" (like the tables near the bar at restaurants like Chilis etc).

I prefer it that way and I'm always a little disturbed to be sitting next to an 8 year old at a bar at WDW. I sat next to a kid at Cava and there is absolutely nothing there that would remotely interest a child in terms of decor or whatever, so the kid was just sitting there watching his parents take on a tequila flight. Seemed a little inappropriate.

Oh I agree. It's not legal in our state either, which is why it just amazes me. WHAT is the rationale for letting them sit there??

Well, if they mix like Trader Sam's, they may be $55, but they will pack a punch! I wouldn't call the drinks affordable, but they were certainly not weak.

With the steady flow of guests exiting the ride I don't think this will be a "belly up to the bar" kind of venue. I think it will be pretty much the same queue as it was for Photopass where you'll move through the line, get your drinks, and exit. Maybe some stand up cafe tables in the general area.

Although I have never had any inclination to ride ToT, I have always loved their themeing. I am looking forward to this. Hopefully it will be open by October, because my sister and I are planning on having a drink there while my DH rides ToT lol.
