Disney Gift Card Deals

When ordering Disney cards from target.com are they always sent by usps? I'd prefer they are sent that way since my mailbox has a lock but I vaguely think I remember seeing something saying over a certain amount is sent another way.
If I recall correctly, the "over a certain amount" shipping difference was with GCM, not Target.

My GC orders from Target have always come via USPS, but I'm not going to assert that that's the exclusive shipping service they use for GCs.

There used to be an option on the old target site to require a signature for your order, in which case they would send them ups. If that is still available I have not been able to find it on the new format.

Go to the help files. They haven't converted those pages to the new format yet. You can get to your cart from there and it loads in the old format, where you can choose to require a signature.

Well, I decided to dip my toe in the water and try a BB and a GS churn. I did $100 BB and $50 GS. I went today to the BB in Pflugerville, TX (shout out to my fellow Austin area churners) and the cashier didn't blink an eye. Then I went to the GS right around the corner and was DENIED. He said that the POS will allow it but that there's a "policy" that he couldn't do it. I asked if this was a new policy and he said it's been since the first of the year. I'll try another one. Any other Austin area churners had any luck at a local GS?

Hi anricat! I live in Pflugerville and have churned a little (would do more if I could get BB cards) at that BB successfully. I have also done some at the GS in Greenlawn Shopping Center (by the HEB) and the GS by the walmart on 685 - both within the last two weeks. My husband and I have been unsuccessful at various GS in the Austin area, but Pflugerville and Round Rock had been working. I just got my cards today from last week's flash sale so I am a little worried about the future of GS churning after your post. I did buy GS from HEB while they have their current promo (buy $50 get $10 HEB card), but was unable to use them at the Tech Ridge GS yesterday.

I don't have a BB near me and don't want to deal with the YMMV aspect of GS (and BB). I do have the Amex Preferred so I'm thinking of buying a Target gc at the grocery store, earning 6%, then the 5 % redcard discount =11%. I may open a DVA for the additional 2% but not sure yet. Is there any way to add to the percentages here???? We have lost the ebates for gc purchases right?
I do this but purchase mine with my Amex at Kroger to get the gas points (2x right now). We save $1.00 a gallon of gas and we fill up his truck and most of my car this way ($35 off a gallon)
Havaneselover posted that they offer digital coupons for 4x points around page 982-983ish

All of mine have been and I've purchased close to $3000 from them over the last month.

Not sure if anyone posted this but $100 Disney GC's seem to be back in stock on Target's website. I just ordered one.

I will say the posts you quoted in your post, did make me think. And, like you say it's good to have someone to bounce ideas off of. I have to say, on the one hand I'd be a bit worried. On the other, if I had someone to do this with, could be interesting, lol! I mean if I had a friend, who I don't live with, though in the same town, and only posting an item for buy it now so no driving the price up... Idk, interesting anyway, at least to end up with cash if necessary... Yep, I miss getting my target/ebay/promo fix!

So, I'm thinking I have this right - your're the poster who was buying all the Disney gc's on ebay the other day? I was wondering how that all went? I was planning to use my ebucks in July to buy BB then disney for that money, keeping my churnings cards still for churning at this point, while I still can. But, your post also got me thinking, if I can't get anything through PPDG, what about buying the Disney cards straight away there? So, how did that work out for you? I was looking at the Disney cards a bit and I didn't find a lot. A couple for like $475 for 495, so twenty bucks more. And another for like 400 for 415. And they had good feedback, though the $400 one had feedback for that person as a buyer not as a seller. There were a couple $50 cards with an extra charge for $7.99 for them. I remember you saying you bought like $3000 there from individual sellers. Did I just miss a lot of cards or are they just all gone now? Just kind of wondering how all that worked out for you. I'm assuming you had to buy them as physical gc's and you'll have to wait to have sent to you. Did you pay with ebay gc's thru your paypal? INterested to see and hope it all goes well for you!

Argh, I hate it when I do that! Frustrating enough, lol.

Yep that was me buying up all the Disney GC's. So I bought from two sellers. The first $500 came from someone who offered to email me the GC #'s which I opted to do. The balance was there in full and I combined it with an old Disney gc of mine and then added it to my DVA (ya I know I swore off of that after my last experience with them. I forgave them apparantly, LOL.). The other 2500 came from one seller who listed in his posting (a single $500 card) that he had other denominations available. I emailed him and he basically asked me how much I wanted and was willing to break it up into $1000 increments so I could maximize ebay bucks. He had a 4k+ sellers rating that included other gift card sales so hopefully all goes well. He charges 3.75% which I was ok with--I just want to be cashed out in time for our September trip. If all goes well I will use him again in the future.
I really really hope all goes well :scared:

If I were to guess I would imagine he likely goes out and buys the gift cards after the eBay sale to meet minimum spend requirements on new credit cards or to get the 5x with the Ink at office supply stores. $1000 gift card at an office supply store = 5000 UR's. If you value UR's at .021 each then thats at least +$105. Ive read some international/business class flights or hotels can get around .08 value, so +$400 if your really maximizing . Add your 3.75% fee, +$37.50. Subtract the 10% eBay fees, -100. A gain of between 5% and 26%. Doesn't seem worth the risk to me unless your flying first class to the Maldives and staying at the Hyatt, LOL.

My other guess was he was waiting for some unsuspecting Disney fan to go all in with him and take off with his newfound $2500.. I guess I will find out in a week.

The only thing I can think of is if you're able to take advantage of any fuel rewards programs at your grocery store. With my small gas tank and a max 10 gallon fill up, fuel rewards are only worth an extra 2% for me on normal 2X on gift card purchases. I wish I could could take advantage of Kroger's 4X promos but Fred Meyer stores (our Kroger here in Portland) isn't categorized as a grocery store with AMex for some reason.

My last couple of gift cards purchases at Target only received Ebates on the non gift card portion.
Thank you. There are no Kroger's in my area. I have a tiny gas tank AND I have been buying Mobil gc's when they are discounted anyway so the fuel rewards aren't great for me.

Great find @linzjane88! Your risk really paid off! I had wondered how it was that people were selling such high dollar amount gift cards, but your hypothesis about MS makes a lot of sense.

Not sure if anyone would be interested but disneystore.com has a deal right now where you can get a disney princess castle playset for free when you spend $135 with the code CASTLE. I've heard of others buying a gift card then getting the castle free.

I am in Cedar Park and did my first GS turn yesterday. I went to four different stores because I didn't want to raise any red flags - I had $1200 in physical GCs and $200 in eGCs from PPDG. The only time someone batted an eye was at the Leander store, when the salesman told me I could only use 1 one eGC at a time (but there was no limit on the physical GCs). I went to the ones at the Arboretum, Lakeline, Cedar Park, and Leander.

Thank you for sharing that some of them may be cracking down, because I was feeling a little "too" confident after yesterday's success!

I just tried, but no luck. Tried with just a $150 gift card, then tried with a $125 card + other items to get over $135. Won't take the code.

It did work for me. I couldn't get it with $125 GC and other items, but it should work with just the $150 GC in your cart and the castle with code "CASTLE". The only shipping I had to pay was the $3 shipping surcharge for the castle because gift cards already ship for free.

Which type of gift card did you order? Disney Parks (vs. just Disney Store)? A certain style?

ETA: Never mind, worked for me on the second try! Actually was able to do the $125 + a swimsuit and goggles DD needs anyway.

Thanks!

well, I just did an 'easy save' this week.... used my amex at BJ's with the 5% back deal to buy $150 cards... so that's 9% discount without any stress.... I figure chipping away slowly is better for my psyche ....at least for right now (until something better pops up) or is that 10%? I can't even think..... but it was something at least! Funny, in the store you can buy a 3 pack=150,or single $50 cards.... the 3 pack ends up costing a dollar or two more than buying 3 singles....(?)

Well....I got bored and decided to see what PPDG had in store for me today...

This time, I put a $50 BB gift card in my cart and went to check out. I selected PayPal as my payment method and proceeded to enter my e-mail address and password to log in. Previously, I got the message that said that this payment method was not accepted. This time I got all excited because it seemed to go through...sort of...

It listed my e-mail address (my PayPal account) under the "PayPal" payment option...but it told me to "Please log in to PayPal"...:confused3huh? So I entered my password again, and again it tells me to "Please log in to PayPal":badpc::badpc:.

I give up:rolleyes1....I just can't win:sad2:

I'm not going to bother calling (yet) because it isn't that big of a deal at this point. Once I get my $200 in eBucks, I will want to use them towards a BB gift card purchase and THEN I will be on the phone trying to figure this out. It's so stupid that PayPal says it's eBay, eBay says is PayPal, PPDG says it's PayPal...but each of them individually say that there is no problem. If there is NO PROBLEM....WHY CAN'T I BUY ANYTHING!?:furious::furious::furious:

UPDATE: ...and now my PayPal account has been locked and my PayPal debit card has been deactivated. I went through the security verification and all has been restored, but still...WTH?? All I did was (gasp!) try to make a purchase...
