ABC's of Trip Planning (Oct 10-20), Vol. 2- Z is for: Zippidee Doo Dah!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Actually, our experience at POR last winter was that they only take cards. No change, no magic band, just cards.
Thanks, Andy! I knew one of you had done laundry, but couldn't remember which friend it was. Thanks! That is super helpful to know! (I wonder what foreigners who don't have debit cards do?)

Yep, going with shorts (which can double for park attire if need be) and a tankini.

I love my swim shorts. I got some a few years ago, and they are awesome. My dd requested some this year, too.

I"ve heard that hands down Keens are the way to go. So I did.

I love the idea of Keens, but they aren't the right shape for my feet. I ended up with Tevas - great for walking and getting wet, but don't have the toe protection of the Keens.

I'll be getting pretty close to AnimalKingdomGirl. Raaaaawr!!!

Cute!

Then again, it's long-sleeved and I may die in it. I might also just use it for a nightie while at AKL, which would also be wholly appropriate. Grrr!

Lol!

And yes. I will be wearing my tiara.

:hyper:

Because I liked the color. Mhmmm, yep, that's it- liked the color. (Flab had nothing to do with this whatsoever!)

Oh stop!

Very, very pretty and elegant.

My Maiden Name: (I was pretty happy to be done with that one!)

I was glad when mine went away as well: Johnson  So. Many. Jokes.

Red wine, steak dinner, and California hot tubbing T minus 6 hours. Vacation binge eating has begun; I repeat: La Guapa in progress.

May I just comment that San Fran is pretty fun.

Have fun for me. I've never been.... and it's on the bucket list.

Left her towel ,washcloth and shirt just laying in the bathroom and when I said to pick them up and where am supposed to put them . I replied in your hamper till sunday when you do your laundry. Her reply was I don't do laundry , Just watch lady just watch  be:scared:

I don't mean to be a party pooper, but I thought you said you were going to Oakland and spending a bit of time in The City, but mostly Oakland. Not that "Bay Tripping" isnt a great time, but in a way it's like saying I had so much fun in Epcot when you're in MK. The Bay Area is so diverse a 20 minute drive can take you a world away, and within an hour you're almost on a new planet!

We arrived Oakland then took BART to San Fran and basically did China Town for long enough to eat Dim Sum, walk around for an hour and take Uber back to BART. We are "in" tonight and shared a bottle of wine and some amazing flank steak with sides. Tomorrow we'll do the Embarcadero, Saturday do the Academy of Science and aquarium, Sunday Marin Co. and a sailing cruise in the Bay and picnic, and Monday prepare for re-entry. A nice variety of touristy and just visiting family.

Interestingly, I've seen a lot of homelessness, smelled a lot of garbage and urine, and heard a lot of police copters. Fun mixed with "hard".

I like your dresses that you have chosen. I'm glad someone else out there likes to wear dresses in the parks. You have made me realize that I definitely need to start thinking about my own wardrobe choices as well. While it's not time to pull out the suitcases just yet, it will be upon me any time now!

I hope you're having a great time in the Bay area!

Will comment more if/when I get on a computer, but a quick ... Yes been great so far. The Peidmont neighborhood is very beautiful with streets of unique 1920's homes. I'm drooling.

But that could be that I always do that when I sleep.

Sounds like a fun weekend!

That's one of the things I don't enjoy about going to band practice in LA. We moved our rehearsal location about a year ago. While the facility is world's better, the neighborhood is not at all good. Luckily I am in the car and don't smell anything, but it just kills me to see the rows of tents on the overpasses and lightly traveled streets.

More than halfway through vacation and still having a great time! Gathering up stories to tell and photos to share. Miss you all!!!

I'm home from a great trip of a perfect mix of Touristy sight-seeing, off the beaten path sight-seeing (we beat that path to death!), power lounging where the much richer than me swim, ate several times my weight in unbelievably delicious food, and just hanging with family.

Working the entire week, because when you play you pay. But I'll be working on the photos, and I think there will be many good ones, over the next few evenings and start a little mini TR for you all. Savvy? Then it's on to the final push before Steppe's Next Grand Adventure.
