Official 2016 Disneyland Half Marathon Thread

We're going for breakfast on Saturday morning (Carnation Cafe) - so I'll let you guys know if I see anything in regards to signs or set up areas. I wish it was this weekend - gah, just ready to get my toes on the pavement and run this thing.

We weren't able to park in Mickey & Friends (*side-eye*), so we we didn't venture over to Downtown Disney to check out that side. Report back!

I'm thinking of adding an extra day to my ticket just to see PTN on Thursday, do you guys think it's worth it or would seeing it at the later time on Friday be better? Even though I have wake up for the 10k?

What's the cost of the extra day? I'm not a parade person, and I love PTN, Im a sit on the curb for 3hrs to see it type though. Also, I've walked up for a late parade. And it's easy to get a spot behind sitters near IASW

I think it's about a $60 difference which I don't mind paying if it means it's less crowded and I can get a good spot. This will be my one and only time seeing it and I am not big on crowds, but I love Disney parks go figure.

Thursday only has the 8p, while Friday has the additional 10:45 show. I would do the 10:45 on Friday and get a spot near the Firestation. Parade comes out from next to the hat store and that way when the last float comes by, you can make a quick get away back to your hotel.

We saw it for the first time at near midnight last year as part of the Anniversary Party before the 5K. It was definitely worth staying up that late! If you're doing Dumbo, the 10K should be your easy/fun race since there is so much park time and more opportunities for photos and fun things. Just build in time for a nap or pool relaxing later in the day to make up for lost sleep.

THIS. I agree with this. The late showings are always less crowded. I do worry about how crazy PTN and the fireworks shows are going to get combined with the half marathon crowds ... EEK.

Closing weekend, local APs, and the half marathon crowds. Best thing to do is find a nice place to sit after the fireworks (or during for that matter) if you've already seen them.

Agreed. We're going to try and hit it this weekend. Technically, my plan is to be off my feet next weekend since this is my first challenge. EEEEK.

My other suggestion is to see if you can score a PTN Aladdin dining package for Friday for the early show. I'm not thrilled w/the dining choices but I'm going to do it earlier in the week cuz for $20 or whatever it is - I'll see the parade for sure lol

Right?? For Tink Weekend, we saw merch and shirts the Wednesday of race week. #WompWomp
Last year, we saw merch TODAY (the Thursday one week before the Expo opened), but we didn't see shirts AT ALL until pickup started.

I would love to see merch tomorrow - or at least before I pack, so it can help me make some decisions!

We're doing PTN To-Go on Friday night, just so we don't have to bother waiting for a long, long while. I wonder if they'll let me get the mac 'n' cheese ...
