In a rumor link a few pages back there was a little gem tucked in there suggesting that Toy Story Land may have seen more budget cuts.

At this rate I expect a grassy field with a lone army man standing in the middle of it.

A grassy field is quite cost prohibitive in order to maintain and keep lush. It will be Sid's Backyard Sandbox and the lone army man will be half buried

I don't know that I buy this. That land is already pretty bare bones. Disney can't afford to have the first new thing that opens in that park be really crappy. The LAST thing maybe, but the FIRST thing...I think they know better than that.

It's scheduled until January 2nd which would be the last "seasonal" day of operation. I think martin is saying it won't ever reopen after that which lines up with everything I've seen.

You think it'll be gutted and replaced quickly? I can't see them leaving a prime spot like Tomorrowland empty for long.

The new attraction is said to open in 2018 so with it closing in 2017 it's a pretty quick turnaround from a Disney standpoint.

I've got an idea but wanted to gauge interest. I'm wondering how many of you would be interested in a rumor tracker thread. This would track rumors if they came true, where they came from, etc. Just an idea.

Good idea. Hard to execute. There'd be a lot of time between some rumors and determining if it was true or not. And of course the ever challenging question of whether the rumor as originally stated came true, half true, or generally not true.

True but new rumors come in all the time. I just thought it would be cool to see over time what has come true and what hasn't.

At first I was worried that there would be one less ride to suck people away from my beloved rides during my New Years Eve trip. Thank goodness it will at least be open then. They better start putting something in there in January. I will miss getting to yell at the people in the Stitch line when I walk by or as I go by on the Peoplemover, "Don't waste your time. You will regret it. Turn back!" I would rather have someone off the street belch chili dog in my face than ride Stitch again. I would rather go for my annual gynecological exam and have the doctor belch chili dog in my face than ride it again.
